I dislike the curse art. My reasoning is that it looks exactly like the original art just a close up at a different angle. I would have liked to have maybe seen the mage they speak of, would have been cool to have both versions in the deck.

I assume he is pointing to the fact that Wizards seems to make promos of the worst cards all the time. And then when they do make good promos, like Cultivate, they seem to wait until the card rotates out of standard to give it.
Simple truth everyone knows: Wizards' promo department is a bunch of ******** (sorry, forgot I wasn't on twitter at the moment) idiot monkeys.

Well those may not be the most exciting cards eva, but they're still leagues better then Curse of Wizardry. And the art is very nice, especially the vamp
I never understood why they wouldn't make promo cards of the best cards in the set.
It could be that Gateway promos are designed to be given out to newish players to get them to come back. They actually look better than Path to Exile to players with no concept of tournament power level. It's an alternate win card and a creature that gets bigger and bigger.
How about some real promos, Wizards? Like here is a short list of commons and uncommons from INN that are going to see play and would have made much better promos:

mind control, kor duelist, vampire nighthawk, kor firewalker, skinrender, master's call, and shrine of burning rage have all been good (imo) and gateway promo's since path

Those are all decent to great choices. I would have liked to see something like Full Moon's Rise and Intangible Virtue for the promos.

The bolded cards, where not very good choices. Mind control espically never needed one, the M11 foil is by far the best MC ever. The rest of those cards Minus Skinrender prolly wont ever see play.
