come on bring one to like Calgary or even better Regina or Saskatoon!
We in western Canada deserve not to drive 8+ hours to go to a high level magic event.
PLEASE!?!
With a quick look at the DCI demographics Alberta and Saskatchwan hold the have the some of the weakest and smallest percentage of players in all of Canada. The chances of you guys getting a GP is pretty small. However I'm sure you could book a flight to Toronto or Montreal No?
Hope the format for baltimore is decent, closest one to me so far.
Haha, I think the closest one to me is 8-9hrs... though that's not unusual for Minnesota. We drove to GP Kansas City, Gen Con, and anything else within 10hrs... so I'm pretty sick of driving.
Though we did get GP Minneapolis a couple years ago though, so I guess I can't complain.

Of course, nothing in Ohio... and I don't want to drive to Indy.
Oh well.
This person makes all Americans look insanely lazy. People from other countries would DIE to be able to drive to a GP and you wont even travel at most 3-4 hours.....dear god.
On all the comments about how the USA gets most of the GP, we do support the majority of the magic population.

I completly agree! WoTC cant put a GP in every freakin state for god sakes!!!!!! Some people have to fly 4-5 hours to get to their nearest GP and you cant get in your car! Pathetic.
Really disappointed with the distribution of the us grand prix...do we really need two in the great plains/Rockies in the first quarter? I understand throwing them a bone once a year but, for the rest of us Americans it's well mutually inconvienant. More south east/east/Midwest and west coast gps.
As to the us gettin more gps than Europe, I'm sorry but when I would have to ride 40 hours in a 15 person van with all their luggage for 4-5 day trip....I don't think giving the us more gps is a bad idea. Seattle might as well be Mexico city as far as I'm concerned.

I think everyone needs to relax a bit about the distribution. These GP's are obviously clumped together to ease cost of travel for people that want to attend multiple GP's in the year. Nearest GP for me is 10+ hours away in Salt Lake City so far. Or of course, there is Seattle at 19+ hours away. Its only the first quarter!
But what am I complaining about? Us Californians will surely have a GP in LA, and maybe even another one up in San Fran. Now if only there was one in my home state of Arizona.
To just get to France (let alone to where the GP is) I'd be paying in excess of about £150 (about $250).
This doesn't take into account how long it would take to get there (six hours would be a fun alternative) nor does it account for Hotel or the train to Lille / the GP.
You are inconvenienced.
I simply cannot get there without losing my job.
I'm pretty sure you guys don't get how big the United States is. I luckily live about 60 minutes from Lincoln, NE.
The next nearest to me of these Grand Prix would require me to drive for 13 hours. (Indianapolis). Seattle is 2,600 kilometers from me. Indianapolis is a mere 1,000 km. Salt Lake City is 1,500 km. Austin is 1350km, and Nashville about 1270. And to top it off, Orlando is 2,300 km away.
And you know the most amazing thing about this?
Omaha, NE is located almost exactly in the middle of the country.
The only people who have more than one Grand Prix within a day's travel are the ones who live in southern Indiana or Kentucky, who'll be a day from both Indianapolis and Nashville.
Seattle and Orlando are 5,000 kilometers apart.
For perspective, the distance between Paris and Moscow is only 2,400 km.
That's about how far away from me 2 of these Grand Prix are.
Well, at least 3 of those are between 8 and 10 hours from Denver. Hopefully that doesn't prevent them from having a GP IN Denver.

There are two types of people in this world: people who think that countermagic is the most powerful effect in the game and people who aren't morons.
My color is Purple. I value diversity, smashed color pies and obsolete Inquest articles. At my best, I can redefine MTG in a new and wonderful way. At my worst, I can end up as an Unhinged joke. My symbol is not defined. My enemies are 5 old and bureaucratic angry colors.
OK, since I did not see anything mentioning this, here are the formats for the 1st Q 2012 GPs
Austin USA January 7-8 Sealed/Booster Draft (Innistrad)
Orlando USA January 14-15 Standard
Kobe Japan February 18-19 Sealed/Booster Draft (Innistrad-Dark Ascension)
Lincoln USA February 18-19 Modern
Madrid Spain February 25-26 Sealed/Booster Draft (Innistrad-Dark Ascension)
Baltimore USA February 25-26 Standard
Lille France March 3-4 Standard
Seattle USA March 3-4 Sealed/Booster Draft (Innistrad-Dark Ascension)
Indianapolis USA March 10-11 Legacy
Nashville USA March 17-18 Sealed/Booster Draft (Innistrad-Dark Ascension)
Kuala Lumpur Malaysia March 24-25 Standard
Mexico City Mexico March 24-25 Sealed/Booster Draft (Innistrad-Dark Ascension)
Melbourne Australia March 31-April 1 Sealed/Booster Draft (Innistrad-Dark Ascension)
Salt Lake City USA March 31-April 1 Standard
Turin Italy March 31-April 1 Modern
Yay for Indianapolis being legacy so I can actually drive there since it's kind of close, only a 9 hour drive or so. Much better than Providence at least since that's just way out there and hard to get to from the midwest.
Almost surprised Madrid isn't a legacy GP again with the giant turnout that happened last time.

This, so glad the northeast gets another one so soon after Pittsburgh.
I would die to have it be Legacy but I'll settle for Standard or Modern.
But please please please don't let it be sealed, or worse, extended.
