I enjoy witnessing the sheer number of folks ignoring the mothership post that quite literally lays out exactly why these duals were made (stalled openers for aggro) and complaining that they have no place in established deck archetypes (isn't that the point of a new set?).
Glacial Fortress is better when it matters more. Celestial Colonnade is still a godsend and will steal 4 slots first as your ETBt land. How many more ETBt lands do you want? The 4, 5, 6-drops in Standard are ludicrously powerful now that Mythics are pushed, Planeswalkers and Titans win games and you want to hit them on curve.
You clearly don't recall how to play aggro, which is forgivable since Bushwacker variants fell off the the face of the earth recently. But this only assumes you started playing Magic 6 months ago...
Exactly, Aelexander. Right now the overall metagame is fairly slow, and part of that is because there isn't any multiland that reliably produces allied mana on the first turn. These do that, and that will definitely mean there is a place for them. Sure, they won't be useful in every deck, but since when does a card have to be played in every single possible deck to be a good card?
Really aggressive decks will play these lands, and we will see a good bit of them in Standard.
Shush, you're thinking too hard. Others might hear you!
Most people who dismiss these dualies can only think in terms of current deck types. If it's not an asset to Valakut ramp or U/W control then clearly the card is junk and WoTC R&D is full of no-talent hacks releasing useless cards that nobody will ever play in a constructed deck.
The inability for anyone to imagine a new/revamped deck archetype emerging from a new set with clearly playable cards is hardly surprising, this happened during the M11 preview season, it happened before Zendikar (which was widely panned outside of Jace 2.0), it happened before and during the Alara spoilers despite the fact that Jund.dec basically built itself with the preview cards alone.
To illustrate my point, exhibit A:
DanoLefourbe regarding the Blightning spoiler: ROFL. This card just forces you to put red mana sources in your deck to play Mind Rot. How is that good? the three damage to your opponent is not relevant....
The idea that allied dual-lands that, under eminently common conditions, EtB untapped could somehow be construed as 'bad' or 'worthless' just shows how idiotic the player-base has become. But let them show up in some atrocious 'next level' pro decklist and there will be 30 rage posts in the standard forum. Most people are mad they aren't artifact lands (which any sane player would agree should NEVER be reprinted without serious nerfing) and are projecting their frustration at a lack of broken cards in the set onto clearly playable cards.
I wish stock-brokers were this stupid so I could make a killing.

The problem is that it is far easier for a person to act indignant and hold on to their sense of entitlement than actually take the time to apply proper amounts of logic to what is new and worthy of consideration. A knee jerk reaction of it 'it sucks' is all these people have in them, because they are so utterly mediocre at deck building that they are only interested in what work someone else does for them. There's been a lot of discussion recently as to the nature of Magic's internet Hive Mind, and people so quickly dismissing these dual lands is an excellent example of it at work. The Hive Mind hates what is new but wants to change what is old, only sees the product from it's ironically narrow point of view, and will never yield its end of an argument it has clearly lost. The reason these people make up this collective group and are not professional players themselves is because they lost the ability to innovate; the box must be defined for them that they might think in it, so thinking out of it is not possible.
Decks are constructed from the cards available to build them with. When the cards change, so do the decks. These dual lands could revamp the current Standard format with hyper-aggressive Zoo decks, that run the best hate creatures and/or biggest beaters from multiple colors in order to attack their opponent as optimally as possible. Because of them you could see bizarre things like Nantuko Shades and Lighting Bolts being added together and played optimally. They open up an insane amount of deck designing space, but because they area an unknown quantity and 'not what was wanted' it is far easier for the Hive Mind to dismiss them as unplayable.

Wow, that's some high horse you've got. So not liking a card automatically puts you in some "internet hive mind"? What about the number of people on here who lap up the crap wizards has been putting down and hail them as great cards.
So what if some pro concocts a deck with these in it? That doesn't mean they're good. Standard has the smallest card pool of all the formats and they have to use what they're given. If some pro came up with a deck that used One with nothing, I'd have to stop hating it and laud it's place in an awesome standard?
In the upcoming standard, these aggro friendly duals aren't going to supply enough color fixing when all the other duals in the format aren't aggro friendly. For every 1 game you manage to turn 1 Lightning bolt to turn 2 nantuko shade with these, you'll play 3 games where one of those cards is delayed by a turn or two because you just didn't have the mana for it. These are only going to be 4 cards in your deck, they aren't going to magically solve all your color issues.
Please STOOOOOP complaining about the lands. Yes, they're aggro-oriented. No, that doesn't mean you have to play them. You still have access to enemy colored fetches and M11 dual lands.
It's simple. Play the M11 duals for control, play the Mirrodin duals for combo or aggro. And stop WHINING.

This is what I'm talking about. Please, show me your crystal ball that has revealed the other 110 cards in the set and the other 500 cards in the block, and the other 1100 cards in the next core set and block that will be relevant to the usefulness of these cards.
Secondly, no one has argued that these are 'magic' color fixers, so straw meet man. Despite this, it's pretty easy to see exactly what sort of scenarios favor these cards (read the mothership article). At worst they are comparable to the Zendikar uncommon land cycle. At best they enable mana fixing for aggro's first two turns, which is huge.
I think the Ingus' application in eternal formats has been greatly exaggerated by some, simply because many scenarios will allow a player to play a fetch on their turn and pop it on their opponent's, avoiding any damage at all. Then you're playing a 2/1 for 2 in a format full of Goyfs. =\

This guy, would either eat up several turns worth of mana to get a slow permanent that relies on your already have some board presence (after wasting said mana), or dies without generating any advantage.
I lot of times, people want to crack fetches on their turn because they need to play something. Vs aggro decks, this Ignus guy will either dramatically slow them down or deal 0-6 damage before being dealt with.

You don't need a crystal ball to see the mana base for the next 5 months. These, and glimmerpost, are the only lands in Scars. Add these to M11 and Zendikar block and you can pretty easily see what kind of mana base we're looking at until Besieged. Without the support of a solid mana base, decks won't go anywhere.
