It still seems like a weak choice to me. It was printed in Conflux and reprinted in a heavy foil dose in the Slivers premium deck. The market is already heavy enough on them.
At least make the FNM card a rare or a nice uncommon so it's more likely to bring in the marginal people.
In what universe? If you build a deck like that, and ever draw that hand, I will personally come to wherever you live, perform complicated acts of awestruck ********, then disembowel myself to escape the world that allowed something like this to occur and validate you.
Looks like they want to make some playable FNM promos for once i've loved these past 3 months

Giant Growth: Yeah, Richard! You make those "3-of-something-for-1-mana" cards!
Healing Salve: Go, Richard! Keep that cycle going!
Lightning Bolt: Wow, dude, that's really powerful. Make sure to keep this common-appropriate!
Dark Ritual: What are you doing? That's obviously better than the other three!
Ancestral Recall: Seriously? You want us to make this a common? Really?
I think the FNM card should be something more..."building a deck around X" or "staples". Hedron Crab, Vines of Vastwood, Harrow and Spell Pierce?
FNM Daze would be amazing actually...its a staple in Legacy...
Oddly enough, despite it not fitting into my above criteria, I do love this card...good for a lot of rogue deck types, who need the special promos (since the mainstream decks inevitibly get judge promos, etc...).
I love this card, but between the sliver decks, foil shards block packs, and the ones I got when Conflux was new because I loved the card instantly, I think I have more than enough foil Ziggurats.

I'm going on record right now and stating that before the end of 2012 we will see foil dual lands in booster packs (The real, Alpha dual lands). You can quote me on that.
I'm confident we'll get a Bloodbraid Elf FNM promo. It won't be until about August-September, though. Remember Mulldrifter/Redcap last year?
It's possible. Maybe not while it's still in T2, but I'd like it since I STILL haven't cracked a single one (Even worse I still haven't cracked a Kitchen Finks:mad:. WOTC, I demand you send a playset of each!) Then again, I'd have at least one finks if I'd been able to go to more FNMs. I would definitely say that they could've done better than the ziggurat.
Might see it sooner. Vampire Nighthawk has already recieved the FNM treatment.
Nighthawk was known to be an instant hit and rushed out in WPN like Path to Exile, which comes out only a couple weeks after a set is released. They didn't even wait for it to become a classic.

A deck was built around Ancient Ziggurat.
It was a Jund deck with Sedraxis Specter and it won States in NY and... CT I think.

Good choice, playable in t2 and ext. Can't wait to see the art so I can decide whether to keep my Conflux foils.
@Complainers: At least half of last year ones were worse than this.
Why is everyone so down on Bloodbraid Elf's art? It looks a lot like I imagine a red-aligned elf might: a little more unkempt and angular than a regular mono-green elf. Sure it looks a little on the gaunt side, but elves are naturally a bit more lithe than humans. Besides, if we consider the culture on Jund, we'd expect its residents to be lean, and then if we add in the fact that war with Grixis is making resources tight, I think the gauntness makes sense.
I suspect the problem most people have with the art is that the elf pictured isn't particularly attractive, although I certainly have no proof of this. On one hand, not everything needs to be eye candy, but on the other, there is a long tradition of elves embodying or exaggerating attributes of human beauty.
My only real problem with the art is that while it says "red elf in Jund" to me, it doesn't really say "berserker" to me at all, and there isn't any visual representation of cascade happening in the art--although on the latter point, I'd have to find most (all?) of the arts for cascade cards at fault. I suspect it's very hard to have an artistic interpretation of something that's so technical as a game mechanic, but they managed it with split second. The only difference here is that instead of "it's really fast" the art needs to portray "it comes with a mystery bonus."
Imagine an elf jumping through the air with a cleaver in one hand the other hand drawing a omnipotent portal with some magical energy(blightning even) flowing out of it at the nearest bad guy, or even the viewer himself.
I think that would look badass.

Sure!
I kid!
but i like the idea, it's a neat card that can fit in a lot of decks.
Don't think we will ever see the Gatekeeper or Bloodbraid Elf, but I would LOVE the Hedron Crab!!!!!!

Hypothetically. Happy?

*Cough cough*
I think that the version that I describe here is more likely. Much more likely.
