Today is international talk like a pirate day, so "ahoy there me hearties"
Arrrr, swab the deck ye scabby naves and all that good stuff! Time for a couple of spoilers to get those pirate juices flowing.... Arrrrr!
Deathrender 4 Artifact - Equipment Equipped creature gets +2/+2 When equipped creature is put into a graveyard from play, you may put a creature card from your hand into play with Deathrender attached to it. Equip: 2 Rare
Yes, 'into play with Deathrender attached to it' means for free... kinda like a psuedo reanimate or something along the lines of through the breach... except for free. Imagine, dropping fatt timmy guys like Hamletback Giant, or nigh-uncastables like Bogarden Hellkite... mix in creatures that can sac for an ability, and you've got yourself a remarkabe deck center-peice. I don't quite think this compares to Jitte or 'Clamp for stupid broken, but it does allow you to short cut and accelerate into some pretty big creatures, (let alone the +2/+2!)... so I see this being played, trialed or whatever in most creature/tribal decks in particular come block season.
I know what you're all saying, isn't this what that guy said, who also told us abou the rare duress card? well yes, but I still have no evidence for that particular card... so for now that one remains in the realm of hopeful but doubtful.
Now this could be rare... but it feels uncommon to me, despite being a sick card, I don't think this particular aura belongs int he rare slot. I will check on this however. Double-strike, no matter how you look at it, is awesome, and this is, by far, the single most effective way to give any creature that ability. I'll definitely play one in my now-dismantled Zur deck (With blessing of the nephilim and others), but it could feasibly see play in just about any weenie/mid range creature deck given the power boost it would give you.
Great cards huh? Well, here's a little more info about some more...
- Yes, we have a one mana Merfolk for blue, that can change a land into any basic land type until end of turn.
- Another Rare Merfolk (and One of my favorite cards for Lorwyn too) possesses an ability similar to Tradewind rider, at an incredibly reasonable price... which I promise you'll all see as soon as I'm given the o.k on it.
- An uncommon shapeshifter equipment that grants the changeling ability and +1/+1 for a real cheap cost.
Enjoy these my friends, and please discuss.
A cautionary note: I've noticed a large number of people itching to get the first post in on a thread....So, if you post something with little content in order to get the first post, don't be surprised if it gts delelted before you can edit it, simply put, if your posts lack real content, it will be deleted, and if you continue to drop posts liek this, you will be warned or worse infracted.
This aint a race people, it's not a competition, it's a wonderful journey, and we're all going to get there in the end... o.k?
Battle Mastery sure beats the heck out of Fireshrieker. I like.
Deathrender... doesn't really fit the Lorywn "eternal sunshine" theme...What does the art look like?
EDIT: I'm glad to see equipment is back.

Deathrender looks pretty good, but the cost seems a little high, but it will definitely see play in some form or another-maybe with gargadon? Sac to suspended gargadon, put another gargadon into play from your hand, along with some other big guys. The merfolk tradewinder rider sounds good with everything else we have seen from merfolk so far, so I will be interested to see how that turns out.

It is tommorrow in Hydro land. I still say, if the duress varient exists, that Flores is going to spoil it.
I like the equipment, seems good for casual and may make it in a constructed deck, the enchantment..ehh good cost for the effect but its still a critter enchantment.

The deathrender seems like a perfect fit into the new red green deck wins. You have mog fanatics to have some nice synergy, not to mention mogg war marshal. Play him, equip him and dont pay his eco, voila you have another goblin token and an 11/9 Greater Gargadon It makes those extra copies of Greater Gargadon really easy to get into play.
Equip seems very cool. Timmy card for sure. It may see Tourney Play.
What, are you Mike Flores? Sorry, couldn't resist.
The double strike enchant is fun but I doubt it will see contructed play outside of casual. The equipment is a powerful effect, but keep in mind that it costs 6 mana to get it to go off once and doesn't actually give you and cards. In fact, you use a card just getting it into play. This would probably see the most play in a boggart deck, seeing as they are all about sacrificing and recursion. Then again, boggarts might not even want this in their deck.
Deathrender looks like between 'meh' and 'hey, pretty good'. the 'meh' because its costs 4, but 'hey pretty good' because free creature spells.
battle mastery I think is uncommon because you dont see that many simple enchantments, but i could see rare because, like you said hydro, double strike is teh shyte.
on the tidbits, we seen one blue merfolk landshapers before. thats kinda 'meh' but limited filler, the tradewind rider merfolk could prolly be another 'keeper of the gales' or whatever that bird from legions was (sadly i collected legions.) changeling equipment could be funny 'tribal artifact - equipment changeling'

here in new zealand we are wayyyy ahead of you guys! so talk like a pirate day is today. The evish piper effect is kinda interesting, but i dont think its going to get played. Putting it on like a mogg fanatic or something is cool though cos you can sac it at will.
i think you guys are underrating deathrender. its better than reanimating creatures because 1) grave hate is more effective than hand hate, and gravehate is big right now so good you dont have to have the critter in your grave 2) its colorless, so you can use an accelerant to slip it down under a counter in any color 3) it pumps the creature too 4) its reusable. i think its a very solid card and once all of lowryn is spoiled, i have to decide between my aggro control merfolk deck, my all aggro kithi/elf/giant deck, or a combo deck using this
In what universe? If you build a deck like that, and ever draw that hand, I will personally come to wherever you live, perform complicated acts of awestruck *********, then disembowel myself to escape the world that allowed something like to to occur and validate you.
An Equipment that's like Sneak Attack, only it stays in play AND gets +2/+2? Sign me up. I'll take that any day of the week. It doesn't seem too broken as you can't swing with it as it's not given haste.
Finally, they're making a Doublestrike Aura. It's been a while since Mirrodin since we saw the equipment to do that. Good, we need it.
Also, as it's been mentioned, to people in America, TLaP day is tomorrow. Arrrrrgggggg

The problem with it is you need to have a critter out, have 6 manna up, and have a critter in hand. This will swing and miss on occasion.

Oh em gee! I LOVE the double strike aura. It will help me in my journey to prove that Orgg is just totally cool and people need to earn respect for him. I guess it's aight with that overrated "Tardogoyf" thing too :(.
The equipment looks hot as well. With stuff like Mogg Fanatic and all that. Even if you're not playing overcosted creatures to make it cool, it would be hot dropping some 4-5cc guy out early like that. Maybe Akroma could shine in some weird ass W aggro control deck again with Martyr Of Sands and all that.
Deathrender is build-around-me quality, so it's also nice it's not Legendary or something.
Doublestrike is a very dangerous ability to grant some creatures. I will definitely pick up some of these, just like I picked up some Fireshriekers when they printed that one.
I think you've got the rarities right: Rare & Uncommon
the stick seems ok, won't see any constructed play, but the merfolk rider sounds very intruiguing. The 1cc merfolk sounds like it's been printed before (cough apocalypse), but also sounds like it could be playable in a merfolk deck...
looking at 1cc merfolk (maybe)
lord of atlantis
WU 8.5 merfolk
summon the school
coral trickster
merfolk looter...
could be the start of a quite competitive deck for states.
For casual, I'm thinking of a creature along the lines of Weatherseed Treefolk to go along with the Deathrender. If you stack the triggers right, he'll come right back into play with the equipment attached.
As for Battle Mastery, I think I'd still rather put Griffin Guide onto most things, but it definitely has potential for abuse.
Deathrender is the mother fricking balls. Exactly what I was expecting. I'm gonna make love to his card in a green/red/white threesome with both Akromas. I'm freaking out. I'm serious. I love it. I will kill for this card. /timmy
I really do like it, though.

Why did I ever think a signature in comic sans was a good idea?
Assuming this is true information, that would validate the information in the "neo duress" thread too. "Assuming", I said. I'm not saying it's true or not true.
That equipment would be sweet. I think there are some combos you could pull off. How about cards like Welkin Hawk, that when they die, you get another from library to hand? Would basically say "if you kill my dude, I'll just get another out of my library to replace it". Not to mention some sweet sacrifice abilities, some breakable "comes into play" abilities, and so on. I bet someone will come up with a few nasty combos using this, if it's accurate.
I would love to see that aura. Double strike, as mentioned, is very cool and powerful. Lance eat your heart out!
The equipment is nice.. hope to get a few of those. As many people said its good with mogg fanatic and many other cards. Could see some T2 play, not sure yet.
I love the equipment... (probably because I love playing fat creatures cheaper then they normally cost, be that reanimation or elvish piper-like).
It's easy to get it started, even Claw of Gix and any creature will work (although CIP and WPIY (When Put Into Graveyard.. just thought up that acronym :p) work very nice).
Enduring Renewal with it can be fun too. Throw in a sac outlet and a creature and you can go infinite (fun with say a mogg fanatic or shock troops).
Lots of fun with the equipment :).
The aura is nice for limited, but probably not worthwhile elsewhere. It took them surprisingly long to print the aura too, I actually thought they would have printed it earlier.

A truly great petition
It is Today for people in this side of the world.
Deathrender is nice. I could see myself putting one in my Cat-Equip deck, and using Jitte to kill my own creature, if need be.
And as a lover of doublestrike, I drool at Battle Mastery. Pity it doesnt have flash; that would make it even better then it is.
