ughh... didn't Wizards say that they're going to power down Blue for the next few set, first they reprint counter spell with a bonus, a swiss army knife counter, then now this?? >_>

In summation: You are not inherintely superior for using a rogue deck.
Say hello to a chase rare and an auto include in every Blue deck which aims to make Magic a no fun, borig game filled with 20-24 maindeck counterspells
This will neither be a chase rare nor an auto-include. You can bet on that.

The evasion ability is actually better than flying(which I was hoping for) and turning all counter-ing effects(in a blue deck) into Spelljack's is definitely a good thing.
This should see play as a MUC and other counter control decks finisher, the Serra Avatar ability is actually solid in MUC since it allows you to cast it and not to waste any protection on it(unless you want to) because you are safe in the knowledge that it's coming back(MUC doesn't really care when, it is all about the long game after all).

I know, I first thought it would be awesome with Remand.. But that doesn't work But the card really will see play in MUC together with the Command, Teferi and on..
But we have to wait for red and white before we call it the best
I'm hoping the white one will be as good as this or even better.
I disagree. Flying can be better than even total unblockability, because it also has defensive value. Control decks want a win condition that's a good blocker much more than they need it to be able to get past the opponent's blockers that are irrelevant to your inevitability.

What sort of loop, if any, would this create if you cast a spell that was countered by your own Chalice of the Void?
The kind where you choose a number and repeat it that many times, and then stop, because you don't have to keep playing the spell. This will not cause the game to end in a draw.

Yes it does. It's not Standard-legal, but it's perfectly feasible, rules-wise.
I'm hoping the white one will be as good as this or even better.
Yeah, I'm eagerly awaiting the white one too. I'm pretty sure we already have the art for it - that winged sheep with antlers, below on the right. I just hope it isn't Flying + Moat...and thankfully, it probably won't be, because we just got Magus of the Moat and Teferi's Moat in the previous block. So, Flying + Ivory Mask maybe? Maybe some unique effect?
Karma doesn't exist. You can't depend on it. If you count on it for justice or catharsis, you will find that you have placed your emotions on very unstable ground; and you will either repeat your disappointment in society over and over, or you will engage in a persistent delusion to protect yourself from that feeling.

I ment: Opponent burns you, and you remand resulting in: You burn your opponent, give him hus burn back and draw a card.
But Guile removes the card from the game, so Remand won't give it back.
Yet now that you mentioned it: Remand gives me his spell AND draws a card for 1U.
Ps. Who cares about Standard? It's an overpriced format with hyped cards that don't last longer than 2 years. Don't get me wrong, I like to design decks for it and think of combo's.. But combo decks don't last that long in Standard.

Precisely.

I don't see where you get the idea that Standard is overpriced. It's cheaper than any competitive constructed format besides Block.
If you play Extended/Legacy/Vintage only then you can't expect to have much reason to get excited about 99% of all new cards. Standard is important because it's the benchmark for competitive playability. Most cards are designed and developed with Standard and Limited being the primary considerations.
On the other hand, maybe you're a casual player who doesn't care much for any competitive format. If that's the case, more power to you. You should understand, though, that players who like to play competitively are going to judge new cards from a different and equally valuable angle.
The fact that it's a dynamic format is one of the reasons a lot of people like it. It can be fun to keep up with changes in the metagame, and to have to adapt constantly.

Life's end, isn't it beautiful... its almost tragic.

I think this fits into the finisher category- and the point of evasion on a finisher (especially in a control deck) isn't the utility it provides, it's the ability to get across the board and end the game quickly. If you've got this guy back to block (since it doesn't have vigilance), you're already behind.
Guile + Chalice of the Void (for 2) + Grapeshot = win.
Pretty much the same for any other storm card.... play it for free as many times as you like, getting more & more storm copies each time.

But how do you play the version you want to resolve? You're going to need a sac outlet for the Chalice.

Actually, don't the Storm copies get put onto the stack directly, and bypass the Chalice completely?
If not, Perilous Research and Claws of Gix would be useful here. Heck, even a simple Boomerang will do.
I love Guile...it's so much better than either the green or black Incarnations....except that counters have been severely weakened. Now we know why, I guess.
Guile doesn't have the "as long as the spell is removed from the game" clause that Spelljack does. Do you have to play the spell immediately, or can you leave it RFG until you want it?
Also, Hydro's girl from the train gave me this mock-up:

As written, you'd have to decide to play that spell immediately. It's as though every spell you played which said "counter [a spell]" actually said
"Remove [a spell] from the game. You may play that card without paying its mana cost."
The thing that confuses me is, this *should* enable you to steal copies of spells and copies of cards. State-Based effects won't be checked during the resolution of your counterspell, so the copy of a spell or copy of a card will remain in RFG for you to play.
Anyway, this card is #$%&!@ awesome. You just need to get it into play...

I like this card a lot. But all the incarnations are a bit too fat though (2 high CC). Well I suppose they each have their purposes and maybe some have a future in constructed, I dunno.

Teferi costs one less, and how many blue decks run him? That's right, all of them.
He's too clunky. He cost too much to play, as you'd generally want to have mana open afterwards, so you can counter their removal. Against the mirror match, he'd be sided out, because playing him without Teferi loses you the game, and with Teferi out you're already winning; sideboard tech would be more important.

No loop, you MAY play it.
You only have a loop when you have no choice.
Yet with Chalice you will steal all their 1 or 2 mana spells
Definitely, it's way too expencive to be effective in most MUC builds
you can cast a spell indefinitely, however there is no loop because there is no requirement to cast the spell.

Heh, its an amusing combo - and say hello to Claws of Gix to answer your muse.
It's a cute combo, if completely unrealistic to pull off reliably.
