Has anyone out there that's screaming about being overwhelmed by the T&T cards (numbered to 12) considered that they'll more than likely make at the minimum 6 tokens (each color + artifact) and in all probability 12 (2/color + 2 artifacts).
This would completely even the odds of receiving either a token or a T&T card.
Besides, unless they are raising the price of a pack again, then this is the SIXTEENTH card in the pack.... one more card than we're used to paying for... so if you don't like the T&T cards... toss 'em, eat 'em, wallpaper your neighbor's house, whatever... and consider the tokens a happy bonus gift.
And if you're really concerned about wasting paper... make an effort and drop 'em in the recycling bin nearest you... or better yet, use 'em how they were meant. Find a younger/inexperienced player and let them have them. Better yet, use 'em to entice some new players to the game.

"Here only miracles. Here, only the rising of spirit. And yes, love if it was pertinent (which it was so often); and sometimes bloodletting. But never the prosaic, never the trivial. Here the man who brought the strangest tale was the most welcome. Here every excess was celebrated if it brought visions, and every vision analyzed for the hints it held to the nature of the Everlasting." - Clive Barker's Imajica
I think I'm kinda making out the collector's number on the bottom of the Goblin Token, and it looks like 3/7. But I imagine no matter how many token cards there actually are, they hopefully will do at least 50% of packs with tokens. It would be sorta nice if they say put a fill set of those tip cards in the two-player starter set, or the fat pack, and leave them out of packs though.
Honestly though, I just think I'll feel bad for wasting paper with every extra tip&trick card I throw out - perhaps I'll save them all and make little gifts for friends with all the tricks so I can teach them Magic...or something...
I am so using them as tokens in the release.
Ha.
The arcana says 'three of the tokens'.
Considering The Hive is probably in 10th, we need a wasp token, and I wouldn't be surprised if Raise the Alarm is printed for soldier tokens, and something blue maybe.

Dude, if WotC included 100$ bills in packs people would complain about how they are folded.
I really dont do this unless its pure stupidity, but Im sig'n this till the end of time. (Or until something distracts me) because its so true.
Ive noticed the FS sucks threads and Signatures finally all came down, just another example of this premise.
Personally, I love this idea, I dont care if I get a tip or trick or Token. Because every token I do get, is one that I would have to have randomly maybe have gotten from Wizards, or paid for on Ebay.
If anyone knows why G0-DRAW was banned I would love it if they would PM me. That guy was pure entertainment 100% of the time. Plus he never publicly responded to his Contraptions "Proof" that never panned out.
Keep in mind, guys, just because it's a pain for experience players, new players still need help (probably significantly more help than we do). Wizards is trying to increase the core set's appeal to existing Magic players by pushing its power level with cards like incinerate and mogg fanatic, but that doesn't mean they're scrapping its role as a set designed to introduce players to magic.
Opening tips and tricks cards sucks if you're experienced, similar to the basic land, but it's helpful for newer players, especially people who don't have someone with much experience to get advice from. It's like an extension of reminder text. One issue now for new players is that it's hard to learn the more complex parts of the rules. When you first learn about the game, you're going to want to play it as quickly as possible, not go into rules details, and once you start playing, most players don't go back and read the comprehensive rules. This way, someone could learn about the stack while opening packs and playing, without having to open a split second card when they try buying an expert level expansion, and then sit there wondering what the stack is.
Also, my guess is Wizards wants to keep the tokens rare and special. I think they like the idea of players having to go out of their way to get their collection of Zombie tokens for their deck or whatever. I see them as being kind of like foils. It's not meant to be that everyone will just have tokens galore. A large number of players will still use beads and dice and pennies and pro player cards and tips and tricks cards, and then it's really cool when you play against a guy who gets out a Verdant Force and has enough saproling tokens to last the whole game. I'm not saying that's necessarily the best way to go, but I think that's probably the idea.
They go to all of the trouble to keyword "deathtouch" and then when they go to put a basilisk in the core set they pick one with a different basilisk ability? Oookay.
There is no basilisk in print with deathtouch. There was never actually a creature with the unkeyworded deathtouch before Future sight, just spells/abilities that granted it, and Thornweald Archer was the only card in future sight with deathtouch, so they didn't have a deathtouch basilisk to print. I wouldn't be too surprised if we saw a new basilisk that's just a Thicket Basilisk with deathtouch as a core set plant sometime soon.

To sum it up, people are whiners by nature. If a person doesn't have something to whine and complain about, then there is something wrong with them.
THE AVERAGE DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HUMAN BEING
1. Wake Up too damn early
2. Eat exactly the opposite of what you wanted for breakfast
3. Get dressed in clothes that dont fit anymore
4. Go to the job you hate and work with the people you despise
5. Drive home in traffic with the 10,000 people whose sole purpose it is to make your life a living hell
6. Come home to your ill-tempered spouse and mooching kids
7. Eat a dinner that is prepared all wrong.
8. Go to bed too damn early.
Aside from that, I like how 10th Edition is shaping up, barring the fact that the only cards that excited me from the first batch of artwork (that I didnt already know) were Llanowar Sentinel and Nomad Mythmaker. Manabarbs was okay as well (great SB for red vs counter control). The rest was crap IMHO (as it goes with the card we didnt already know what they were).

God, Im so depressed now. Its my life to a tee.
Ok I cant say that, its pretty good, but this did give me a good laugh.
If anyone knows why G0-DRAW was banned I would love it if they would PM me. That guy was pure entertainment 100% of the time. Plus he never publicly responded to his Contraptions "Proof" that never panned out.
Why not just use Thicket Basilisk; it's the same card and I've always liked the art. Curious that they're putting it in just after they've keyworded the different ability deathtouch, and I hope it won't be rare in 10th.
EDIT: Agreed that new Basilisks need higher power, or at least provoke. There's something unutterably pointless about a creature that does horrible things to blockers that is too puny for anyone to even consider blocking anyway.
Of course. There's something about Luring a Basilisk that just appeals. It's one of the world's weakest combo tricks to be sure, but I remember when I was a newbie there's a sense of satisfaction to putting it together. Does green have a card saying "Untap all creatures defending player controls" that can go with these two?
EDIT: Grizzly Bears? Why, at this point, a card that's been outdated since Tempest's Muscle Sliver and is improved on in every single set? Especially since white will get either its version or a superior card, and green is meant to have the best creature in the 1G 2/2 C spot. Nomadic Elf would be ideal - a mana filter, a rather unimportant ability, but a 2/2 Elf over a 2/2 Bear. We're not talking Wild Mongrel here.
I am beyond ecstatic that merfolk looter is coming back
and the most important part of arcana states
And still others are all-new token cards with original art by Magic's top artists. Each of these tokens is usable with one or more token-generating cards in the Tenth set
but what creates Saproling tokens that can be put into Xth?
Bramble Elemental or Fists of Ironwood would be my guess. BE plays to green's "we love being enchanted" subtheme and FoI is a basic, cheap card that gives trample.
Now that we know the tokens are extra cards, whining in all forms is really tacky. Seriously, would you rather they just kept the extra card, you jackals? Look at the ridiculous Siege-Gang comparison someone was making. If whatever card that makes those goblin tokens is a rare, the same 2.5 boxes you'd need to crack to get 6 goblin tokens would, on average, give you ONE of the rare that makes them. I'm sure we all know lots of players that won't give a rip about the tokens, and if we're really hard up they'll be about as scarce as your average uncommon at any of the online stores. Meaning between 25-50 cents. Oh, the humanity.
On a happier note, I couldn't be more ecstatic about Merfolk returning. I love Merfolk for absolutely no good reason, and I'm really happy that we aren't just getting the ones in TS block

Forever known, whenever said, ancient rhyme, forgotten dead.
What makes me really curious is those tokens. Are they a cycle? If so, what tokens does blue get? Can't be Cloud Sprite tokens for Cloudseeder. Can't be Wave tokens for Tidal Wave...

This whole business of bonus cards and tips & tricks cards is fine by me. I've always been happy when one of my Magic Rewards cards turns out to be a nifty little token. There are also quite a number of folks who I've turned onto Magic, or have expressed an interest in Magic after some exposure, that could use the tips & tricks cards. Although, I'm not giving stuff away until I at least have one in the binder.
My question is how might this affect drafting? Do you leave the bonus card in the pack and take your pick, or, do you take your first pick and the bonus card? Assuming the bonus cards have the Magic card back this might cause some trouble with unsavory types and some confusion for newer players.

The way my shop keeper would handle this is you keep the 16th card in the pack as soon as you open it, and then draft as normal.

Yeah seriously, quit *****ing about a bonus card. It's not affecting the draft, not taking up one of your precious draftin commons and it is a bonus that we get from Wizards. Do people a favor and if you don't want them, take them down to the shop with demo decks and include them in with the demo decks for newer players to read and keep. Also give them to the store owners for them to hand out to new players

Hmmm, there are number chrunch problems with the blue token maker. I believe the only logical blue token maker is Homarid Spawning Bed, but if it were to be that card, than flight, would have to be out of the core set which seem like a basic card that would be in allcore sets forever and ever. But hey, they took out stone rain right?

Let's hope it can have decent stats then, green should get a 4/4 for 3GG, not a 2/4.
Anyway, they're bonus cards, so why complain so much?
Furthermore, there might be something useful for some of us to know about in the T&T s.
SideNote: Getting the creature tokens would be very useful.
