Hierarch and Goyf don't really do much in Control, and Threads is better off in the side. You don't want a card that's dead in certain matchups.
Bolt's good in general, Explore's a cantrip and let's you play another land (serves basically the same purpose of Hierarch but also lets you draw a card). Ruinblaster's good against almost every deck in the format right now, especially 12Post and Zoo, so it should definitely be in the deck.
Have you tested this, by the way? If so, how's it tested?

Goyf is awesome in control, he's a finisher for 1G that blocks other goyfs and eats basically every other creature in the format. Cutting Goyf is most certainly incorrect and so is cutting Threads since a lot of the really good creatures are at 2 CMC or less. I might consider playing Firespout maindeck since its a near *** against most decks since it kills basically everything outside of Goyf and Knight.

@Goyf: Good points; it does seem pretty useful in Control.
@Threads: You don't think it'd be better in the side? I just don't see it being useful vs. rogue decks and Combo/Control.

I have not tested it. Hierarch wins the goyf wars and get's you in control quicker. Threads is a very good card against aggro, which will be most of the format. Just look at Legacy for Hierarch and Goyfs in control, they're in many of the control decks. Running something like Explore in this means you don't do anything turn 2, while Hierarch means you can Vendilion turn 2 and Cryptic turn 3. Threads also works better than bolt in this format, because it counts as removal and a threat in most matchups.
I don't think ruinblaster would be very good in a control deck as you don't want to do all that much on your turn, and you don't want to be tapping out at 4 mana for a inferior creature on your turn.
Firespout if definitely a consideration for the main, but I think threads will be better pre-board against more decks.

@Hierarch: Fair enough. I haven't tested any Control decks with Green in them in Legacy, so I just went by what I knew from RUG Control in Standard.
@Threads: I definitely see it being good against a lot of decks this format, but I just think it'd be more useful in the side until the format has a more defined meta.

Threads will probably be better in an undefined meta. When a meta is undefined it generally means there's a lot more aggro than normal.
I'd say that this deck is a prime target for one of the four iterations of Deceiver Exarch-Splinter Twin, it's a great finisher that comes out of nowhere and can occasionally lead to games where it's just like, "Oops, I won".

It's definitely a consideration, but the build would have to change dramatically to make it effective. There is not enough dig in this list to do it, I would see exarch staying u/r or u/r/b in Modern as it's far more consistent than adding green to it.

I don't know, I feel like an undefined meta usually means a lot of random decks, and running a card that could be dead in an unknown number of matchups is something I'd just rather not do.
Wins through beats and burning the opponent out mostly, but has the option of the Twin combo on turn 3. I think what it's lacking is a 4 drop that it wants to resolve on it's own turn. If only there were a planeswalker or something that costs 4 mana and takes over the game.... I don't know if Cobra is good yet, but it beats hard. I think without Jace, it might not be worth it to run Cobra. However Mulldrifter is going to have to do right now. I might want Grim Lavamancer instead of Bolts. I might also cut the bolts for some bombs like Inferno Titan or something big.

Yeah I'm a fan, I started goldfishing and realized that I could do that. Any Cobra + fetchland draw can Mulldrifter on turn 3, or double Hierarch. Mulldrifter might be a 4 of when it's all said and done.
@Jazzy - Your missing the only good reason to run R/G in any control deck. Groves of Burnwillows and Punishing Fire. So crucial in alot of aggro matches.

You're right. Aggro is gonna be really good in this new format. How does this look?
I don't really like Mulldrifter or Lotus Cobra here. Lotus Cobra doesn't speed up Twin combo, and it doesn't get anything besides Mulldrifter out faster than a Noble Hierarch or Birds of Paradise would. Mulldrifter is not worth playing if you are going to only be able to play him for 3 mana each time.
Jazzy, for your list I would go:
-4 Mulldrifter
-4 Lotus Cobra
-1 Cryptic Command
+1 Dryad Arbor
+4 Green Sun's Zenith
+4 Lightning Bolt
As your deck stands now, you've really got no answer to Wild Nacatl or Kird Ape. Lightning Bolt should help that.

The idea is to actually cast Mulldrifter with Cobra off of a fetch... I also only have 3 Mulldrifters. I like Dryad Arbor and Zenith, but I'm unsure if I would really want 4 of the Zeniths.
I don't think there's enough card advantage in this deck in order to win attrition games and that's what Mulldrifter is for.
One thing I wish I would see in this deck is a Remand (Any RUG deck I think just benefits highly from the card). They used to call Remand the next best thing to timewalk for 2 when it was standard legel. If you can lock out a turn 2 drop and get card advantage ontop it just can't be beaten with the way Modern seems to be shaping up to be.

I totally agree with Remand. It just seems amazing in this type of deck.
why would you play pestermite over Deceiver Exarch... I heard being out of burn range is good?
It's mostly because the deck wants to win through beats mostly instead of just relying on the combo. Pestermite is also pretty good with Hierarch's Exalted. I was thinking of having both in the deck. I think I like Pestermite better, but it might be the case that I want a better blocker in Deceiver Exarch. Right now, I like being aggressive.

I wouldn't trust pestermite in a format that includes Groves + Punishing Fire, to be honest
