Bring on the beats with Sand warriors or plant tokens.
Perilous forays is a house. It combos/synergizes with Hazezon, Emeria Angel, Rampaging Baloths, and pretty much anything with landfall. Gets stupid amounts of land with Lotus Cobra or Amulet of Vigor.
You can play your general, sacrifice him and all of his tokens, and then have the mana to play him again next turn. Also grabs Mountains to bring on the burn with Valakut.
Well, I'm going to be like the people on the other thread and suggest you take a look at Oracle of Mul Daya and Asuza, Lost but Seeking. They're very good with the lands based strategy.
Krosan Verge, although it won't get you a mountain, is fantastic in the deck once you get some recursion going.

Horn of Greed? If you're going to be dropping so many lands, its benefit to you is greater than the benefit to anyone else. Of course, it says "plays" and not "comes into play"...probably works better with Azusa.
I see you are using snow-covered lands, you might enjoy a Scrying Sheets with them. Highland Weald and Arctic Flats could be of use if you go with Scrying Sheets.

I don't think it would be super helpful, but it's definitely good enough to warrant testing. Will swap it in for something temporarily.

I always include this in decks with Snowies, but colors are so important that I've been reluctant to put this in. I guess I should test it... Pullin out Ghost Quarter.
Just out of curiosity, how bad is your day if/when someone Strip Mine's your Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle? I imagine that just removes one win-con but doesn't totally wreck you, but I was just wondering how that tends to play out.

If that happened often I would include even more cards along those lines. Luckily it has actually never happened.
EDIT: Semi-Nath'd.
There are also quite a few alternate win conditions. Mainly Sand Warriors and Plants.
Interesting. Do players in your meta not run much spot/mass LD? I have a feeling that if I were to build a Valakut-centric deck, everyone in my playgroup would go out of their way to make sure that my Valakut never stuck. Ever.

I haven't built this physically, I've mostly been playtesting it on Cockatrice, but no, my meta doesn't run much LD. I actually run the most, in my Uril deck. And people on Cockatrice usually don't I guess...
The Valakuts normally only need to stick around for a turn or 2 though, and if I'm Scapeshifting I don't need Valakut to stick at all. Only need 7-9 lands, depending on what life my opponent is at. (Or less if I've got a Prismatic Omen.)

Crop Rotation is another tutor for your Valakut.
Druidic Satchel is going to hit about 50% on blind activations for you, so it may be worth a look.
Take a look at my Rith deck in my sig, because there might be another couple of cards you could consider in there.

rotation is in there. keep forgetting about oracle! (facepalm)
I thought about azusa, but the fact that she only lets me play lands from my hand is a con.
Verge is good in gw. derp.
satchel is interesting. warrants playtesting. in that line of cards, explorer's scope could be good...

How about Enlightened Tutor? Finds your Prismatic Omen faster, which means faster wins.

Well, while omen isnt normally necessary, enlightened is an auto-include and i feel dumb for not thinking about it.

I do believe that's what the crucible of worlds is for.
This deck looks like fun, but that it completely dies to mass LD.
