Wow, recently I wanted to create a mono white deck that revolved around life gain... after finding no formitable generals with life gain (like Gerrard was it), I decided to use Myojin of Cleansing Fire... then I searched the deck database to get some ideas and there were NO decks with him as general! Okay, here it is!
Remember the original idea for was this deck to be life gain... actually for EVERY card to have the word "life" in it somewhere (name, rules text, flavor text, anywhere printed on the card). However I found it very difficult to put together 60 cards that had the word life on them and actually want to play that deck, so I ended up doing this deck instead. That being said, I need suggestions on what to add and what to take out. Thanks for your help!
P.S. If only I had Karakas. Or a Maze of Ith for that matter.
Just FYI the Myojin only gets counters if you played it from your hand so if you play it from the command zone it would not get the divinity counter. You'd have to find some way to return it to your hand and replay it if you you want to use his ability.
I didn't see it in your list but one card you might want to check out is Beacon of Immortality. Also Congregate is a pretty huge swing if your playgroup leans more towards multiplayer.
Another life gain general that I like using is Kiyomaro, First to Stand. Of course, the deck needs to be specially constructed around him.
If you want your Myojin to get his divinity counters, you're gonna have to do some tricks. Let him to go the grave, then bring him back with Breath of Life or Resurrection, then place the counter on him with That Which Was Taken. Or you can use the gating creatures like Whitemane Lion or Stonecloaker to return him to your hand so you can recast him.

Not sure if you realize it or not, but Karakas is actually banned in EDH. I guess they don't want players bouncing the other guy's general every turn lol.

Some areas play with it errata'd to return non-generals... that's what I would use it for... if I had one.
The plan is not so much to have Myojin to always have a divinity counter... yes it's nice if I can hook up a That Which Was Taken or Erratic Portal with him (with Enlightened Tutor to fetch them, that's on average one in every two games they'd get hooked up together). Maybe I should pick a less threatening general... however I figure most people will assume that I may not know the Myojin doesn't get the counter when played from it's general zone so they will see this mono white deck as a non-threat and focus on other players. Again, I could be wrong, but it's worth trying. Does anyone think that a 4/6 for 8 is a threatening general? Hopefully people will leave me alone.
I have a Congregate... is that better than Landbind Ritual? I mean, I guess it depends on how many players are getting together in your area... I actually play with 2-4 players on average (one time had a five player game) so although it's good, it made the cut due to a low amount of players.
