Background:
This was originally a Bosh deck was inspired by Trash for Treasure. I've had TfT sitting around since the original Mirrodin. I was 10 then and I really didn't appreciate it, but I kept it around for some reason. It's probably one of the cards I've had the longest.
I made the Bosh deck around Scars of Mirrodin block, finally finding a place for that card, and realized how fun red artifact decks are. Then Wizards gave me my favorite sorcery as a commander with a sweet goblin planeswalker thrown in for one mana. It was a dream come true.
Strategy:
The main strategies are artifact synergy and reanimation. Daretti is always available to discard big artifacts and/or reanimate them so the deck focuses mostly on artifacts and card advantage through artifact draw. Things like Myr Battlesphere or Pentavus provide plenty of artifact tokens to sacrifice.
Hm. In an EDH deck with no tutors, I'm not sure how likely I would be to get this combo going.
But yeah, I'm considering Mycosynth Lattice to let me sacrifice anything. And I could get some more artifact removal to take advantage of that. But Mycosynth Lattice always seems like such a risky card to play.
correct me if im wrong but... doesnt having an artifact general require you to have an artifact/colorless deck with only colorless mana? or do the rules vary between groups... as its unoffical

Bosh has a red mana symbol in his rules text, you see. Under the old rules, that made him illegal (as he contains a mana symbol not found in your general's mana cost). Under the new rules, he is a legal mono-red general! Also, this is by no means unofficial. The official rule set, acknowledged by WotC (and in the comprehensive rules too), is maintained at mtgcommander.net.
Ha, that's pretty sweet actually. Right now I'm replacing some bad cards and adding Mirrodin Besieged ones. Can anyone say Metallic Mastery? Also, Ichor Wellspring and Spine of Ish Sah are Bosh's best card-advantagey friends. And Hellkite Igniter is fantastic for just beating on things. I'll have an updated decklist up when I get a few more MBS cards, which should be pretty soon.
So it's been a while, but MBS and NPH have made HUGE improvements to this deck. There's only one or two M12 cards I want for the deck so far so I'll probably update this really soon.
Ended up with 12 Contagion Engines in play and Rings of Brighthearth putting over 30 more counters on the braid a turn. Game won with Hellkite Igniter swinging in for over 200, then being flung via fling at the other player.
Through me the way to the suffering city; Through me the everlasting pain; Through me the way that runs among the Lost. Justice urged on my exalted Creator: Divine Power made me, The Supreme Wisdom and the Primal Love. Nothing was made before me but eternal things And I endure eternally. Abandon all hope - You Who Enter Here.
Really? I feel like, as long as you can keep Bosh alive until your next upkeep, you'll at least get some good free throws.
Well yes, it's probably something to do with the fact that I don't actually do all that much throwing with Bosh anyway. But it's also a completely horrible topdeck, for one thing.
Well yes, it's probably something to do with the fact that I don't actually do all that much throwing with Bosh anyway. But it's also a completely horrible topdeck, for one thing.
A conditional 2 damage for 2 mana? Seems very inefficient by EDH standards.
True, but it's repeatable over a long game for a lot of potential card advantage if they let it sit for a while. I'm leaning towards the "not worth it" side though. Might as well stick in Tower of Calamities if I want repeatable damage.
This is just over two years outdated. With a couple new cards from M14 (okay, they're M13 reprints I just finally got my hands on), it's time to update the OP with the current decklist. I also made the OP a lot more comprehensive, with paragraphs on the deck's background and strategy. I think it's time to be a little more informative than just a decklist.
Recent Changes:
I've mostly been getting cool new artifacts like Trading Post or the occasional red artifact card like Hellkite Tyrant, which gives us a fun alternate win condition.
Red has recently gained access to looting effects, so I've put a few of those in. Tin Street Market is kind of weak, but it's repeatable. I like that. Wild Guess was put in as well.
Chandra Nalaar was never really a particularly useful draw, so I took her out. Stalking Stones was pathetic at best, so I replaced it with a mountain.
Future Changes:
Right now I'm trying to grab some graveyard hate (Relic of Progenitus) and single target removal (more stuff like Brittle Effigy). Ratchet Bomb will probably make its way into the deck for dealing with annoying crap.
There are a few cards I really have no excuse for not having already, like Solemn Simulacrum and Blood Moon. I'm going to get them eventually, hopefully.
Koth of the Hammer will probably go in to replace Chandra. He seems like the most useful planeswalker for this deck.
A few cards got removed from the deck over the course of two years and they need to find their way back in. I think I removed Tectonic Edge to go in a standard deck a while back. Shimmer Myr disappeared and I don't know why. It's a cool card.
Torpor Orb will definitely get in here somewhere. I think the only cards of mine it would negate are Hoarding Dragon and Duplicant, which is an acceptable price to pay for how much it screws over your average EDH deck.
Almost two years since I last updated this, and the deck has changed pretty significantly. Mainly, Daretti is the commander now. That got rid of Bosh combo cards like Illusionist's Bracers, but oh well. Plenty of cool stuff took its place.

True. I like to do a moderate amount of throwing, with Perilous Myr Myr Sire and the wellsprings and Spine of Ish Sah.
