Karthus player takes 39 and dies, Rhys player takes 91 and dies, and we all laugh hysterically at the ridiculous amount of damage I was able to deal for a single R.
Turn 4 I play Tezzeret and tutor into play Sensei's Divining Top. My friend in front of me revealed he had Shatterstorm he then attacks Tezzeret with a hasted 2/2.
Turn 5 I get revenge on him by playing Sun Titan into Lotus Bloom. Then Sundering Titan and copying him with Scuplting Steel. By now player 1 was down to 2 lands, another none, and my attacker down to 1 land. Sun Titan dies from Go for the Throat.
Turn 6 he kills my original Sundering Titan and I Unburial Rites it next turn for more mass LD. By then, everyone was pretty much ready to scoop.
I have on board maybe one morph creature, and a Caged Sun at the time. My friend proceeds to ramp a bit and then pumps in alot of mana for a massive genesis wave. it's alright by me, cause I'm able to play my cards at instant speed thanks to my Leyline of Anticipation and I'm holding back an Evacuation as well as a Venser, shaper savant.
Now to understand why this is good I'm holding, another card called Selective Memory, and Becon of tomorrows. I've already played a card earlier called Mana Severance so at the end of my opponents turn I play evacuation, followed by Selective Memory. I proceed to start my turn by playing Becon of tomorrows and then play Venser shaper savant, I proceed to take infinite turns and kill everyone at the table with Venser.
the other night i was going 1v1 with my roommate. he had chainer, i had rafiq. we draw our 7 do our partials. i was on the play. i had leyline of anticipation so i drop it. i play ancient tomb and pass. he was like "really?". i smile and say go. he goes swamp, pass. i go, eot...flash in mana crypt into sol ring. tap sol ring and play prophetic prism and draw a land for mox diamond. cast the mox diamond and a mox opal with one floating....cast rafiq. he nothing on turn 2 and i rip....jitte or some other equipment. it was gg shortly after. we were just in awe of the turn 1 play.
Nobody but me has played a creature yet and I'm tapping for 6 before passing the turn for my buddys to play their first lands again. Also now can tap my mountains to ping stuff off the board and the deck runs 42 mountains and 4 non basics. I went on to ultimate koth without killing him, put counters on my general at an alarming rate while spreading the love of general damage (wanted to see if they could come back and if I could keep them from coming back, and got to earthquaketwice for a whole bunch while my general was big enough to live through it and keep swinging.
Without sol ring I'd have never got there so fast. Without top I wouldn't have been able to follow the turn order I did as I pulled koth and extraplanar lens from my library. Without the mass land destruction I wouldn't be playing red.
Kira started out with an early Leyline of Anticipation, and was keeping pretty good control over the game. I cast Thraxi hoping to put some pressure on him, and he flashes in a Treachery before I can declare attackers - well, crap. He uses it to finish off Shirei first (he hadn't done much the entire game, was drawing lands consistently) so that he doesn't lose it by killing me, but soon realized that he should've turned Thrax on his owner...
I had had a Tezzeret, the Seeker in my hand since turn 2, but since I didn't know the deck that well I wasn't sure what to use him for, so I was holding onto him. Cut to Shirei's death, and on my next turn I topdeck Power Artifact (insert inward groan here). Drop Tezz, -2, grab the Grim Monolith that I find, and proceed to use a combination of Proteus Staff, Diamond Kaleidoscope, Tezzeret, and Arcum Daggson to come back from almost nothing to destroying Kira.
The big swings in the game were a 20 minute Thieves Auction with a ton of good stuff and it eventually ended when we collectively killed the game. We could have moved ahead, but each of us more or less locked the other out of the game.

That sounds like a lot of fun as soon as I read who was playing, I smiled.
4 player game with my Horde of Notions deck. On turn 9, I got to finally cast Intuition for the 1st time ever. The game ended as Reveillark was already on the battlefield.
That sounds like a lot of fun as soon as I read who was playing, I smiled.
It was fun(ny). None of us had any real way to attack even if the board was completely devoid of the Propaganda effects. I think that an Oracle of Mul Daya was the biggest aggo threat for a while until Zedruu resolved.
Sorry, but I don't think it is banned on the "original" ban list. Plus we run our own banlist, which I think is only down to channel, balance, and the ante cards. Games are much more crazy, and you get big plays with big responses. Not the watered down kitty version.
This is THE legitimate use of Shahrazad. Until it was banned, I wanted to get one just to build a "draw the subgame" Teysa. I wanted so badly to win with Divine Intervention + Vampire Hexmage from a subgame.

Heck No! Shahrazad is one of those cards where you really have to lose all decency and logic to want to fork lol. The people I play with don't mind playing 1 subgame because we enjoy playing games together, but 8 is going too far. I suppose Shahrazad did get banned by the commander site. But then again, this is a casual format and the rules are really subjective between groups who agree and disagree on what is balanced or what isn't. Played this game way too much to know most of the really obnoxious combos, prison builds, and denial of play strategies, and to be honest you can't really ban them all. Regardless, if you can't stop someone from doing something, maybe you are doing it wrong.
If anything it feels like EDH is almost synonymous to a trip to Siberia. People want to bring some tents, marshmallows, and snow cone flavors and coloring. When you should be bringing in proper survival gear, a weapon, and decent supply of backup plans.
after milling everyone for 7 (toshiro mills 5 lands, a mana rock and plague wind, riku mills a bunch of enchantments, lands and a trinket mage and niv mizzet mills counterspells, lands and a shiny time stretch).
toshiro starts out of the gates with a T1 sol ring, netting him the title of archenemy. I play my breeding pool tapped, after drawing a phyrexian metamorh. the turn rolls around, riku aims a naturalize at toshiro's top while niv mizzet misses land drops. I drop birthing pod, and people start sighing. the turn rolls around, and I untap with pod, sol ring and two lands. I draw another swamp, play it and run the mindslicer out.
this is where things get nasty.
I pod the mindslicer for a puppeteer clique and riku discarded a primeval titan(I get urborg+coffers and two other lands). after everyone fails to draw anything relevant, I draw phantasmal image. I activate the coffers for a truckload, play the mimeoplasm copying my chancellor. this copies time stretch I then reveal phantasmal image, and everyone just scoops. turn 5-6.
and this is how I met the love of my life.
<3 u , mindslicer.
Opponent is playing some WU Illusions brew. He decides to try to go for the mill strategy with his Jace, Memory Adept (tough to do against a 100-card deck, for sure). He is also beating down with his own Geist of Saint Traft and some Phantasmal Bears. So with me at <10 cards in deck and ~5 life, he has lethal Jace mill (at 6 loyalty) AND lethal damage threatening next turn. All I have in play is a Sword of Feast and Famine and all I have in hand is Day of Judgment. I'm pretty dead, right?
So I untap my ten lands and rip... Mimic Vat. I sigh... pause... think. Play the Vat. Cast Day. Slide Geist under the Vat. Activate it. Swing at Jace for 6.
So ridiculous swing to stay alive there, and now I'm threatening a three-turn clock with Geist tokens and SoFaF. Opponent draws dead for a couple turns and I put him down to 4. He's pretty dead, right?
So he untaps and rips... Distant Memories. He tutors up Oblivion Ring and I have to make a tough decision. He's going to get rid of Vat, and I have nothing else to attach my Sword to. I have 4 cards left in my deck (I cast a Divination last turn). I have no idea what the last cards are, or if any of them can wield a Sword to get the last four damage in. So I have to bin the O-Ring and let him draw 3 cards. He pulls his only other Jace, Memory Adept and finishes the mill job just as time is called.
Man, this is the ONLY way to make Standard exciting. Why don't more people do this? I finished 4-1, btw.
Or you mean to say, that you assembled the Bloodchief Ascension/Mindcrank infinite combo and somehow started it before an enormous Olivia killed you?
(It's probably the last one, but if it's a card that is uncommon in every format including EDH, you should card tag it, or at the very least spell it correctly. I checked every black and blue card in Gatherer with the word "mind" in the title before I found Mindcrank.)
Yes. Typo, whoops. I drew into a killspell via flashback Think Twice.

Two opponents, Rhys the Redeemed and Karthus, Tyrant of Jund... Karthus had Broodmate Dragon with token and Balefire Dragon, Rhys had a bunch of tokens, Rhys, and Living Hive. My board consisted of a few artifacts, Repercussion, and Inferno Titan. Both opponents were tapped out, everybody was between 15 and 30 life. GUESS WHAT I TOPDECKED?
That's right.
The one, the only, Blasphemous Act.
Karthus player takes 39 and dies, Rhys player takes 91 and dies, and we all laugh hysterically at the ridiculous amount of damage I was able to deal for a single R.
Good times.
Playing a 4-player match with Sharuum as my general.
I probably had the most explosive opening hand I've ever played.
Island, Jwar Isle Refuge,Sol Ring, Mox Opal, Grim Monolith, Lotus Bloom, and Sundering Titan.
Turn 2 I played Island, Sol Ring, into Grim Monolith
Turn 3 I transmute Brainspoil for Tezzeret the Seeker
Turn 4 I play Tezzeret and tutor into play Sensei's Divining Top. My friend in front of me revealed he had Shatterstorm he then attacks Tezzeret with a hasted 2/2.

Turn 2 mountain, koth of the hammer +1, top again
Turn 3 mountain, impending disaster, extraplanar lens, koths +1 to top again
Turn 4 all lands are destroyed!, mountain (that now taps for 2), tap mountain, koths +1 to untap the mountain, tap mountain and sol ring, solemn simulacrum to fetch another mountain and my general
