Ok, my friend has been crying for me to ask, were just getting into EDH, and he has a Chaos Orb. Is that card legal in this format? I can't find anywhere where its not, and he wants to check before he uses it.

From the Ban List in the first post:
The following is a list of cards which, in addition to the regular Vintage banned list, are banned in EDH. Whenever this list changes, I'll post a note about it to this thread, noting and explaining the changes, and notifying anyone who is subscribed to the thread.
Orb is banned in Vintage, so it's banned in EDH. Too bad though since it is a really fun card to play.
Just to confirm before I start using it at my playgroups. In theory, if I am playing Rhys the Redeemed as my general, it is perfectly legal to have only mono-white cards in my 99-card library, right? I am not obliged to play all colours of my generals if I don't want to, correct?

I have the same thing (mono-White, Rhys General)
Quote from Deck Construction Rule #3 »
Coloured mana symbols which may appear in an EDH deck are restricted to the colours appearing in the General's mana cost.

i called him earlier today, and he said that just because it isnt legal in vintage, doesnt mean it isnt legal in EDH. Can you give me a link to wizards website or something that has the banned list, that says vintage banned cards are banned from wizards or something? Hes a knucklehead and says "MTGsalvation is nothing but a rumor site but nothing more". So yeah, hes retarded, please help me out.

EDIT: If it absolutely must be from WOTC there is a link somewhere on their website with rules about Commander but I'm just not sure where it is. Commander = EDH on Magic Online and where they talk about the Commander rules they provide a link to the official EDH rules which is the link I gave you above.

Yeah, hes hard headed, and the fact that an "official judge" (a guy who came in last month who claims a lot of Bull Rush if you know what i mean) who is linking a site that says the same exact thing. But on that website he goes do it doesn't say anything about banned vintage cards being banned, so he thinks hes right. Its really getting me pissed, and I even tried to argue that if hes right that Ante cards are legal too then. He said "Yea they are i guess imma be getting your favorite card after I win eh?" Ive never facepalmed so hard.
EDIT: the site he is referring to is www.99edhproblems.com by the way.

Even that website says Chaos Orb isn't legal. Click on the tab EDH Banned List on the upper right and look at Legal Sets on the lefthand side.

Hey guys.

No, it is not. Jushi Apprentice itself is not legendary, only it's flipped form Tomoya the Revealer. You can't play the flipped form without playing the other form first however, so it starts without being legendary. I
f your play group agrees to you being able to use it, then you can of course, but don't expect everyone to accept it.
What happens if you steal someone's permanent and you die? does the permanent stay in play under the original owner's control or does it go to the graveyard?

It gets exiled, face-up. Things like Pull from Eternity and Rift Sweeper can bring it back though.
If the permanent was stolen with a clause, like with Mind Control or Helm of Possession, then the permanent comes back under its owner's control.
Hey everybody, I'm new to EDH (no complete deck yet) and was just wondering what the average number of creatures should be in any given deck? I realize that all decks are different, but there must be some number of creatures that all decks need to abide by. Thanks!

I have seen anywhere from 1 to 40. Really, just go look at the Deck Database and skim some of those to get a better idea.
My friends and I are trying to get into this format now. I'm pretty sure I have a fairly good grasp on the rules, so this is more of an advice question than a rules one.
How the hell do you adequately randomize a 100 card deck? I mean, EDH is singleton so searchers are very good. I've built a Momir Vig deck and I search several times a turn.
Does anyone have any advice on their technique? I'm concerned about both the time (and frustration) of having to do it so often as well as making sure that I'm adequately randomizing as to not skew the game.

I find that my EDH decks rarely play the same way twice. I have a mono blue deck with Teferi as my general. Some games, I'll be getting my control cards and board wipes, in those cases, i play a strong control style. Other times, my board wipes are hidding in a deep dark corner of my deck and i go all out with creatures, making it an aggro deck. I don't rely on tutors or my general to make the deck tick, they both just add versatility and tweak the deck into playing better. Teferi is used more often to protect my own spells from other blue mages.
I randomize it enough so that the land is never really clumped together, otherwise, it's all fun cause it's boring to play the same deck over and over.
Just weave shuffle (aka crush/mash shuffle) a few times. Just make sure you've got good sleaves (i.e. Dragonshields) or it won't work very well. Also, it's fairly common for searches/shuffles to occur during, and take up most of, an opponents turn. Not precise play, to be sure, but it's a helluva time saver.
I have a question about Relentless Rats. I was playing a game, and a friend used it. Both he and I believe you may have more than one, as the golden rule is cards override rules, but others say that it goes Magic Rules>Cards>Format Rules. What would be the consensus on this, or is it just kind of a "depends on the group" thing?
The official EDH committee gave the go-ahead for up to 99 Relentless Rats (no more than that!). Unless you have a house rule against it, you're good to go.

first off, the "depends on the group" factor overrides anything we could possibly say here due to the way EDH is designed to be played.
That said, the people who designed the EDH rules, have stated on numerous occasions that multiple Relentless Rats is under their opinion an acceptable way to build an EDH deck so long as the group is able to agree to such. This is because the deck is not inherently busted, nor is it difficult to hate out.

I'll second that, my friend has a monoblack Oona, Queen of the Fae deck that runs no blue cards except Oona, Memory Plunder and Dire Undercurrents and the deck is perfectly legal.
