So I have to choose between the command zone and the triggered effect? Also, if I zombify it after I choose to put it in the graveyard, then it dies again, can I then return it to the command zone?
One last question, if I do what I said above, would the cost of playing it only go up by 2 since it only went back to the command zone once?

EDH: It's like a pillow fight, except occasionally someone pulls out a chainsaw.
If you suggest a card to add to a deck, suggest one to take out as well.

Yes to all three. Generals only cost 2 more to cast for each time they have been cast from the command zone.
Just out of curiousity, can a general in the command zone be revealed as if it were in your hand. For instance, could I reveal my general Kaysa while its in the command zone to play Wren's Run Vanquisher for 1G?
No, you may not. The Command Zone and the Hand are two different zones.
On the same note, you don't get a divinity counter when you cast Myojin of Cleansing Fire from the command zone and you lose the game when you successfully cast Phage the Untouchable from the command zone (unless something like Platinum Angel saves you from dying).
If my general would be returned to my hand by a spell or ability, can I choose to put it into the Command Zone instead? Likewise, can I let my general go to the graveyard if it is destroyed, or is it always returned to the Command Zone?
5.If a General would be put into a graveyard or exile from anywhere, its owner may choose to move it to the command zone instead.
That's the rule. Nothing in the rule let's you do anything out of the ordinary when an effect moves your general to your hand. Likewise, you can choose to let your general go to the graveyard and not get removed to the command zone when it is destroyed (or otherwise sent to the graveyard).
just watched this guy win a game after mulliganing down to zero and doing nothing for four turns in the t8 of a 2x premier event. I immediatly Imed a friend to confirm Chuck Noris actually plays Magic.
Correct, or even landswithcoloredsymbols on them. It's still actually pretty easy to have a deck full of lands that work and all have some other use. Look up any Karn, Silver Golem list for examples.
Please forgive me if this has been answered but this thread is huge.
If my general is Akroma, Angel of Fury I can morph her as many times as I want and never have to pay 2 more. That means that she will always cost 3 to play as a morph and 3RRR to unmorph...correct?

incorrect, general tax will always apply to generals played from the command zone even if they are being cast using alternative casting methods such as morph.

You can cheat your generals mana cost with things like Morph and Dream Halls, but that doesn't cheat any additional costs. You'd still be paying 2 more each time.

So the second time it would cost 5 to morph Akroma, Angel of Fury? That doesn't sound right.
Would the same be true for Ith, High Arcanist? Would it cost 2WU the second time suspended?

Rather than cast this card from your hand, you may pay WU and exile it with four time counters on it. At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a time counter. When the last is removed, cast it without paying its mana cost. It has haste.
That is the reminder text on the oracle version Ith, High Arcanist. In otherwords you cannot suspend him from the command zone. You could only suspend him if he somehow ended up in your hand.

hmm...I have never actually looked at the oracle for him.

that is actually more or less the oracle for all suspend cards. You have to suspend from your hand, not from any other zone.
In fact the only card you can really cheat into play without having a card in play to help cheat it into play (read Dream Halls) is to the best of my knowledge, Akroma, Angel of Fury. And that is only due to her Morph Cost. And as we have already said, that does not negate additional costs.

This is probably a silly question, but where exactly can I find the 1v1 French banlist or the multiplayer banlist? I've googled, read this thread, gone all over this forum and I can't find anything that refers to itself as that. I always get referred to the official site, which has ~20 cards banned. And yet I follow threads and they say stuff like "With RoE Necropotence has been banned and Crucible of Worlds unbanned. Additionally, Braids, Cabal Minion is no longer a banned general."

Awesome, thank you very much. I had seen the "Social" link many times but never associated it with multiplayer-- and somehow had missed the 1v1 list! Again, thanks a ton.
Actually not a bad question. You could imprint an Eldrazi on a Chrome Mox, however, since it adds one of the imprinted card's colors to your mana pool, when you tap it you would not receive any mana.

Yes, because the choice of putting your general in the command zone is not a mandatory effect.
Yes. It makes no difference on what happened to your general previously.
Yes. The general tax is applied only when the general is recasted from the command zone.
...and I get Sarnathed again. I guess that's what happens when I type longer posts

Where is that information? Thanks
The 1v1 / French ban list is stickied on this site in the forum that says "1v1 EDH". http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=233155
The multiplayer ban list is located on the official EDH site under the "Social" link: http://www.dragonhighlander.net/rules.php
Can I imprint a colourless Eldrazi spell on Chrome Mox and then tap Chrome Mox for 1 colourless mana?
