I love your deck photo and I admire your pimping. I'm in the second stage of pimping my Welder Survival deck, stage one required me getting all the cards black boardered and from the right sets.
I've recently ordered some foil cards but it's a pain finding even some commons in a foil version, I'm surprised at how hard it actually is. Also for me I think the old version is more pimptastic then the foil version in some cases, Antiquaties Triskelion > Foil Mirrodin Trisk.
Ah well thank you for inspiring me to get back to pimping out my decks =/.
Edit: Uck, I just realised I'm going to need 4x foil 'Goyf... Time to stop eating and sell a kidney.
Uck, I just realised I'm going to need 4x foil 'Goyf... Time to stop eating and sell a kidney.
I got one foil Goyf from my teammate for my birthday, and I bought three more at GenCon when they were $40-$45 each. I had around two non-foil playsets to sell to justify buying three foils, so it wasn't a big deal. As a Threshold player, I realized Goyf's potential when I saw it on the spoiler and picked up a ton of them for almost nothing.
I really suggest selling some old cards you're not using in the MTGS Market Place, and using some of that money to ebay them. It's definitely worth the money. I throw them in my binder for pre-releases, and people just go nuts over them.

I'm just curious as to what peoples oppinions are on signed cards. Personally I love them. When it comes to pimpness the order is
Signed Promo
Signed Foil
Signed
Beta
Promo
Foil
Black Bordered
white bordered
I have to disagree. The majority of promo cards I see at tournaments are FNM cards, and FNM's are almost always uglier than the non-FNM versions. I happen to think that split cards look better as FNM, but a lot of people don't even agree with that. I would say the true order is:
1. Foil Japanese
2. Foil foreign language other than Japanese
3. Foil English OR non-foil Japanese (tied due to apples and oranges)
4. Black bordered
Note that all the cards in the deck (or at least an overwhelming majority) have to be the same category to be truly pimp. Having a few cards be foil Japanese, a few cards be non-foil Russian, a few cards be German, etc, just looks tacky. Also, signed cards are only impressive if every single card in the deck is signed. Either track down every artist, or don't play any signed cards at all.

I of course meant my own personal preference. I know people have an unhealthy love affair with Japaneses foils. I personally don't really care for non-english cards.
Also I happen to be (what seems) the only person on the planet who acctualy likes FNM promos. I love how much brighter the art is compared to normal foils I also like the newer foiling technique (though I do wish they would have kept the star) and I also like the new borders. So go ahead and call me a heretic. Its my own version of Deck-Shui.

You're not the only one. Although, i only like certain ones. For example, i love the FNM brainstorm compared to MM foil, but i hate, say, FNM engineered plague compared to legacy foil
Media is not making me steal. But in a way is like the story of the very hot girl with the short skirt teasing the old sick guy with a history of rape.
I hate FNM promos, they're like cheating foils. My preferance is Korean. Everything Korean comes first, then T-chinese, then japanese, then foil. Foil is cool, but I prefer people looking at my cards like I'm an alien. Also, Korean looks rediculous, I love it.
I saw a thread somewhere once where this guy posted his tog deck where every card was foil and signed in Japanese, with most of them customized by an artist and several signed with more than one person and people in R+D.
I remember playing MD round 1 of the Gencon champs. He won games 2 and 3 on the back of his bling blinding me. I attempted calling a Judge, but, ya know...the whole blind thing.
I almost have most of my UGb Thresh converted to Chinese. Not foiled though. I just like the look of the unfoiled Chinese cards. And I don't have the patience yet to hunt down/buy/trade for all the foil versions. But I'm slowly working on it.

I had a total of 5 'Goyfs, sold one for 20 dollars at states to some one I knew. I still have a playset of 4 and hopefuly now that he isn't that big in standard his price will drop a little and I will have my foil Goyfs. I'm guessing a foil Masques Squee is going to cost me about the same price as a foil Goyf?
Speaking of teammates I doubt mine would ever get me a birthday gift but he did buy me a set of BoP's foil online for 100 dollars. I'm giving him 3x Tundras and some other cards for them, guess it all works out in the long run since I can't really pay out for cards at the current momment.
On another note I might be getting my hands on some power finally, it only took about 80ish cards of trade for it.
@Pringlesman: You know it's funny but I don't like signed cards. I usually get cards signed but don't run them, I just don't like how the signature looks on them.
I enjoy plain old English foils with the old frame, infact I run the Antiquaties Triskelions over foiled Mirrodin Triskelion (I own a set of both).
I'll post some scans when I get more of my foils in the mail and those BoPs.
My Vintage deck is so janky. It has a lot of English foils in it, but my power is beat. It doesn't look right. But I need to finish getting WB power before I even think about buying BB power.
Anarky, I don't think the foils were the only reason I beat you. I saw a lot of unlucky draws on your side, but perhaps your deck was blinded too

To present another sense of the word "pimp," I know someone who plays a deck using hentai card sleeves. He would often hold his hand perpendicular to the playing surface, such that they would be in the opponent's face as much as possible. I assure you, very distracting if you're most guys... perhaps more so than a foily deck...

And also a good way to get a suspension from the DCI for having porn sleeves.

Back at States when I was looking at peoples trade binders one guy had all the powers and such proxied with different hentai-esque pictures for the card art, they were civil enough to probably just slide under the raidar. I'm not really for that whole cartoon thing but it does make you look twice trying to figure out what's going on.
On a side note, who is that in MD's avatar? That's been bugging me for a while now.
4x Ponder (Japanese foil)
4x Brainstorm (Japanese MM foil)
4x Spell Snare (foil, getting soon in a trade made last night!)
4x Daze (foil)
4x Force of Will (German)
4x Stifle (foil)
4x Lighting Bolt (Alpha)
4x Fire/Ice (Apoc. foil)
My goal is to get FBB duals, 2x more foil strands, 2x more foil Geese, upgrade the regular Tarmo foils to Jap, and get foil Bolts.

Post pics, my man! I am interested in looking at the Jap foil Brainstorms and Ponders.
I'm thinking of pimping out Angelstax, should I go with beta or judge promo Armagedons?
Obviously you go with English P3K Ravages of War that are signed and artist-altered. If you're already at the maximum number of pimp Ravages of War, go for Alpha 'geddons or Japanese 4th WB.

I don't like P3 cards because of the WB. I'd probably go for Korean Beta or Jap P2, of course those are impossible to find.

They can be. I have two sets of Rolling Earthquakes currently. One is WB, the other is BB. It all goes down to how committed you are to having a BB deck.
English ones exist, I have one in my rebecca guay collection, too bad I can't use/trade it becuase its there.
