You may want to pick up your Snapcasters now if you haven't, I'm sure the price will rise again once this news reaches more people over the next few days. SCG lowered their price in fear of the banhammer, but I doubt it will last long.
But this just means that M13 will have answers for cards like delver, angel and snapcaster and would in no way include more cards that will help this deck... right?

ditto scg scared me this week by dropping price
now let's see how many are left by tomorrow night

Of course not. That would require some sort of forethought.

The article mentioned something along the lines of "more cards for other decks than cards for Delver", but the joke is that M13 has no cards for any current standard deck!
If you think any of those cards will see play in Delver decks, you don't know how to play Delver decks.
You're likely right about Archangel and Cathedral but it looks like Talrand could work well in tandem with snapcaster mage and at least be a sideboard card.
Its that simple. play skill rules this format. really it does
I agree, and Delver is the deck that best rewards play skill. It's consistent and allows a lot of interaction. Hence why 70% of the top players are playing Delver, and the reasoning for this whole thread.
So, why do people have their knickers in a bunch if the article says they looked at results from a recent PTQ tournament and found that Delver won it's matches only 51% of the time? That hardly seems oppressive. It seems like people decided they did not like Delver, and their confirmation bias confirmed it by skewing their memory. Unless you have contradicting data to that of WotC, it seems like pure fantasy to believe otherwise.

I don't agree with this, although a lot of people playing Delver has changed this in a positive way since Restoration Angel was legal.
Personally, I don't care if I get bashed for this or not. I am SO happy no cards in Standard are not banned and (even though this is not the right place for this) SO glad that Griselbrand is not banned in Legacy. This is me; I got out of bed to see this.
Legacy - Sneak Show, BR Reanimator, Miracles, UW Stoneblade
Premodern - Trix, RecSur, Enchantress, Reanimator, Elves https://www.facebook.com/groups/PremodernUSA/ Modern - Neobrand, Hogaak Vine, Elves
Standard - Mono Red (6-2 and 5-3 in 2 McQ)
Draft - (I wish I had more time for limited...)
Commander - Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build) (dead format for me)
because all people do to find out the health of a format is go to FNM, and then look at SCG results, and then run around in circles chanting "wotc ban. wotc ban. wotc ban"
Delver isn't impossible to beat. is it a good deck? yes. is it blue? yes. could something have been banned? probably. is it fine that nothing was? yes.
All the whiners, see you in october. as for the rest of you, lets play ball
Although I do admit that in all honesty, I can't really think of any 1 card in standard that seems banworthy, I always sorta subconsciously hope that Wizards will do something insane and just totally shake up the format. Just for the hell of it. Like if the new standard banlist turned out to be:
Mana Leak
Ponder
Delver
Kessig Wolf Run
Snapcaster Mage
Lingering Souls
Geist Of Saint Traft
Birthing Pod
Unburial Rites
Strangleroot Geist
Geralf's Messanger
Huntmaster Of The Fells
Primeval Titan
And mind you, before you jump down my throat with your nerd rage, take this with a grain of salt. I'm not really saying I think this is a good list or that it wouldn't just lead to some other deck stomping everything out. I just always have that sort of sadistic hope that Wizards would just go nuts one time and I'd just love to see how everyone would react when they'd be forced to either make their own decks or just stop playing entirely until the next pro-tour or whatever told them what to play.
I am a bit disappointed in this announcement. Standard feels like it is stagnating into Delver versus Delver, at least at top tournaments, and even online.
(My LGS is more diverse, but my LGS is also half 12-year-olds playing turn 5 Serra Angels.)

That would've gutted my deck, but I'd move on to Mono-white tokens.
In fact, that is the plan next month.

Wow! I cannot believe that Wizards banned nothing. They've pretty much clearly stated that it's okay if 60-80% of the format is playing a single deck, that is clearly the best deck, even if it's winning 51% of the time. Sorry, WotC. I don't buy that. You guys can play against Mana Leak, Vapor Snag, Snapcaster all day if you want, but that's not fun for me, even if I'm winning. They say that there's decks that Delver is weak against? Okay, what? If they're so good against Delver, why isn't everyone playing them? I don't buy this at all. The pros know darn well what they're doing playing Delver. What a terrible time for me to try to get back into the game.

It's definitely your amnesia. Caw was ridiculous and nothing has been as horrid as Affinity.
Yeah, break from Standard seems like the course, too bad AVR draft is the pits. M13 hurry up!
but seriously right call

I would recommend looking at MJ's esper midrange list (aka next iteration of Delver). It's probably the best there is in regards to beating delver.
