I run a pretty standard UW build and I don't see how Valakut is a strong matchup. Sure we are fast, but Valakut is just way faster. Plus there's no way to protect your creatures against the massive colourless land damage that comes immediately after they get their Titan into play unless you are so lucky to get two Tempered Steel or Steel Overseer out really early.
I honestly think the deck is a lot faster than valakut.

Phyrexian Metamorph is one of those "maybe good, maybe useless" cards. Since it can be anything, it has a lot of versatility and resilience against most anything. One of the most hilarious wins I've had with it is using it against somebody who sligh'ed in a Emrakul during my turn (Quicksilver Amulet). I was reeling after their attack, but since I got to copy Emrakul (thus meeting the "casting" requirement), I got an extra turn whereas they did not.
Thus, the word on Phyrexian Metamorph? Situationally useful.
Uhhh, you don't get an extra turn for stealing Emrakul, you didn't cast Emrakul you casted Metamorph which turned into Emrakul.
Kor Firewalker can block an inferno titan should one come down and I side out Porcelain Legionnaire so I don't shoot myself in the foot for 2 life and then get hit by pyroclasm.
Steel overseer is too slow against valakut so i side in 1 celestial purge as added removal.
Do you find that you are typically siding out porcelain?

I'd personally run 4x Glint Hawk Idols, they're non-Tempered Steel MVP of the deck IMO. I also think you should be using a full 4 copies of Spellskite if possible and switch the Legionnaires with Spined Thopters (evasion usually being more relevant I find than the 1 extra power).
As for your board, I think either Refraction Trap or Timely Reinforcements is a better anti-RDW option than Kor Firewalker. Firewalker will just get Dismembered or killed by a Shrine in all likelihood meanwhile Refraction Trap can often 2-for-1 them and Timely Reinforcements is a huge kick to the groin for RDW.
I'm also not big on Combust, I mean yes it can kill a Deceiver Exarch, but what uses does it have in the current meta beyond that? Dispatch/Galvanic Blast can deal with Exarch just as well in most cases and Celestial Purge hits Splinter Twin and Grave/Inferno Titans. I think I'd rather put 2 more copies of Dispatch in this slot.
A card you could consider is Act of Aggression, especially considering you have 2 Teetering Peaks maindeck (you can absolutely wreck Valakut in this way by taking Primeval and tutoring the Peaks up).
All in all though I think it looks like a pretty good build.
Edit: I forgot you aren't playing blue, Legionnaire is most certainly better then as you already have Skirge which you will be taking damage to play 90% of the time.

Timely seems pretty good against more then just one color, I like it. Act of Aggression is another example of something that's decent against more then one deck. And that shenanigan against a Primeval you mentioned would be quite fun to do some day.
For the sideboard:
+2 Dispatch
-2 Combust
-3 Kor Firewalker
-1 Shrine
+2 Act of Aggression
+2 Timely Reinforcements
Decks at 61, playtesting will help me figure out what needs cut. I'm also not sure what the meta looks like at my LGS, so I imagine this deck will see some changes. (like dropping R if theres not a lot of creature aggro)
kk, just trying to figure out the optimal build, I've had it built from back in mbs and haven't really updated it. has anyone tried hovermyr? it seems like it would be pretty good in this deck with it's flying and vigilance on a 1/2 body.

If you go through the list which are winning the the dailys you'll find most list are running:
4 Memnite
4 Signal Pest
4 Spellskite
4 Steel Overseer
4 Vault Skirge
4 Tempered Steel
4 Glint Hawk Idol
as the core with everything else up and down in numbers, I prefer the list which run Origin Spellbomb and Preordain since it helps you find that TS your missing or the 'RIGHT' card you need post sweep

*Valakut: Varies.
Well, I got bad results in real life testing, but won a lot of matches on MWS. There're several schools of how Valakut should function. Builds that aim to control the board while ramping will include Nature's Claim in MD/SB and/or maindeck pyroclasm, which will cause headache to you. Builds aiming to get Titan ASAP or tuned against control got fewer anti-artifact and anti-aggro tools and are far easier to handle. Tech against this deck: Act of Aggresion + Teetering Peaks is the king. Also dismember/dispatch Lotus Cobra ASAP.
*Eldrazi: Very favorable.
Eldrazi got no pyroclasm. All is dust only destroy Tempered Steel and Skirge (maybe O-ring). Phyrexian Metamorph destroys Eldrazis. Should have no trouble to this matchup provided you don't mana screwed/flooded.
*RDW: Unfavorable before sideboard. Slightly favorable after SB. Tech: Kor Firewalker and Timely Reinforcement. Really needed to resolve Tempered Steel with dudes on board to win this matchup.
*Traditional UW: Favorable. They don't have much instant speed removals. Day of Judgment only kills half of your board. You dudes fly over Wall of Omens. O-ring takes care of Gideon and Venser. Dispatch takes care of Colonnade and Sun Titan.
Possble tech: Legionnaire to dodge Sweeper. More O-ring from SB to prepare for O-ring wars.
*Caw Blade: ?????
Not tested.
*UB control / MBC: Very favorable before SB. 50/50 after SB.
Before SB, unless they already tune the deck against aggro, you got a huge advantage. Your deck is much faster and your dudes dodges go for the throat. After SB, they will bring in a huge anti-aggro sideboard: disfigure, consume the meek, doom blade, ratchet bomb, Vamp Nighthawk. Who get a better draw will win the match.
Tech: Celestial Purge. Legionnaire if they are prepare to grind a long game.
*UB Tezz: Seems favorable??? O-ring kills Tezz. SB in Divine Offering will kill tumble magnets and clear the 5/5 dudes.
*Infect: Very favorable. Spellskite eats all the pump spells:-)
*RB Vampire: Seems Unfavorable. They got too many removals while attacking, which gains too much tempo. Kor Firewalker doesn't work as they got black removals. They can sac bloodghast if you ever attempted to exile it.
Any tech is good against this matchup? The only I can think of is Timely Reinforcement and Celestial Purge. Also exile highborn as soon as you see it.
*Mirror match: Sideboard in Divine Offering. On the draw sideboard in more dismember as well? Will Shrine works here?? Any opinion on this?
-It's important to remember what type of deck you are. You want to play your creatures and kill your opponent quickly, and your most important cards are Signal Pest, Steel Overseer, and Tempered Steel.
-Don't be afraid to keep one landers, as your deck can operate on very few lands.
-Glint Hawk Idol is often very difficult to kill, and games can often be won off of protecting your Glint Hawk Idols or Inkmoths. Holding onto your 4th land is often correct, so your Inkmoth Nexus can't be Tectonic Edge'd.
-When sideboarding, it's important to keep your artifact count up, as if you board out too many artifacts for colored spells, you will stumble more often.
For updates to the deck, Dave suggests cutting the Celestial Purges for Mental Missteps, as well as the Kor Firewalkers for an additional copy each of Timely Reinforcements and Revoke Existence. Timely Reinforcements is just much better against red decks than Kor Firewalker is, due to their inability to interact with it. Unlike Firewalker, which can be killed with Dismember or Shrine of Burning Rage, Timely Reinforcements is always going to provide a life and creature advantage that is the equivalent to 2 or more of their cards. Timely Reinforcements feels like a 4-for-1 for 2W.
If you go through the list which are winning the the dailys you'll find most list are running:
4 Memnite
4 Signal Pest

I feel like ornithopter is no longer part of the core, at least for most lists I've seen.
I think it's a choice that deals mostly with which verison you're playing. If you're going mono W and you run Glint Hawk, then you want to have several 0cc creatures to interact with it, as well as to be faster than if you're running UW.

From the decks that have had recent success it seems to me the constants are:
4 Tempered Steel
4 Memnite
4 Vault Skirge
4 Signal Pest
4 Steel Overseer
4 Spellskite
4 Glint Hawk Idol
4 Dispatch
2-3 Mox Opal
4 Inkmoth Nexus
Which is like 39 cards on its own. After that it seems like the following are the more optional choices:
Ornithopter
Dismember (usually a miser's copy)
Contested Warzone
Porcelain Legionnaire
Origin Spellbomb
Hero of Bladehold
Preordain
It seems like most of the core is pretty solid already and I can't really see much that should push those cards out.
4 Memnite
4 Signal Pest
4 Spellskite
4 Steel Overseer
4 Vault Skirge
4 Tempered Steel
4 Glint Hawk Idol
as the core with everything else up and down in numbers, I prefer the list which run Origin Spellbomb and Preordain since it helps you find that TS your missing or the 'RIGHT' card you need post sweep
