I just realized this card is the stone-cold nuts, being a 2-turn clock post-sickness just like Grave Titan. Having never thought of it in the right sense of being a 4 drop Grave Titan I feel I need to adjust my GP deck to fit this guy in, thoughts?
I'm debating to put Hero Of Bladehold too. My doubt is if Hero is good in mirror matchs ups, maybe tap for 4 and get mana leaked and then well... the opp play a sword and equip (if he's on the play) and pretty much a gg for that guy.
I dont know, still I really Really like this card.
Fails the Jace test, the Tumble Magnet test, the Into the Roil test...
I like her; I really do. I want her to be good. I don't think she's really a Fish creature.

Have a helicopter drop you off out front. Light your cigar with a small Indonesian boy holding a black lotus. Then bust out a craw wurm deck with no sleeves. Raw dog shuffle, loose terribly, flip the table, leave in a hovercraft.
2 in the SB to break the mirror/control match seems reasonable, playing them main deck seems greedy you cant always plan on tapping out t4 and attacking t5 in a control deck.

It depends on how you play her. Curving out on turn four probably isn't the way to go. Running a singleton that you can top deck late game could potentially be game winning. However, like Juju said, she fails most relevant tests.
Hero of Bladehold's power level is no secret. There's a reason people went ape over her during spoiler. The issue is that she takes an entire turn to become game warping, which is a very long time in competitive Magic.

Question regarding her tokens, does it also attack Gideon if he used his +2 ability prior to your turn?
They do not have to attack Gideon, because they enter the field AFTER the declare attackers phase, they are free to attack whatever target you assign to them.
This exact situation came up during last weeks SCG open and was miscalled by the judge on scene, though the ruling was later corrected by some level 3 judge whom i cant recall the name of.

Thanks! I remember reading it on a thread somewhere, it just became a topic when a player called me out stating I was wrong that the tokens must attack Gideon because they are "able" to attack.
I mainly run her in the MD as a two of because she is just so insane against Valakut and RUG, she just can't be killed by there deck and represents a turn two clock plus she interacts greatly with Mortarpod. Also she is very good in the mirror the most prevalent form of the deck is the Esper version and they have very few answers to her, they rarely run DoJ and have no Tumble Magnets, plus she just destroys Gideon.

The only one of these that's really relevant is the Jace test. Tumble Magnet beats everything in the deck anyway and the same goes for Into the Roil.
It's a sweet card, but you really want to land it turn 3 and at latest turn 4 sadly. It's kind of awkward to draw later, though it does get by Gideon fog.

They're all relevant. All the staples like Stoneforge Mystic, Squadron Hawks, Gideon and manlands pass 2 out of the 3 of the tests, which is why they get used and Hero of Bladehold doesn't.

Seems fine, although its probably too color-intensive to try outside of straight UW.

Those staples get used because they're absurd, getting a Stoneforge bounced is basically replaying it as a blank, same with Hawk. They're all good the first time you play them, not the second. Tumble Magnet actually shuts everything down when you try to swing with them. You could argue that's not relevant, but obviously it is when dealing with a deck that plays Sword and plays these cards specifically to take advantage of Sword. Gideon is a Planeswalker and obviously it's going to pass, it isn't the same. That's a terrible argument.
Out of CREATURES you can play, very few are going to pass those tests, BSA doesn't pass any of them and people still play them and they are very good. Come on man.
It fills a similar role as baneslayer angel in that its a creature you need to answer. Is it unstoppable? absolutely not.. but again its not meant to be. It puts pressure on the opponent and forces them to do something to answer it or be clocked pretty quickly.
It can find a home, and is a true threat if not answered immediately. Its like a mini grave titan in some respects (obviously not as good, as this card needs to survive a turn) but that being said, it can be a legitimate finisher in the right builds i believe.
I could see someone maybe putting this into a U/W control deck, I tried and I'd get mixed results with it. The reason baneslayer in my side deck won the spot over hero is because baneslayer has flying + first strike against mirror I found baneslayer to be more worthy and right now at FNM there is a ton of U/W / Caw/ Sun Titan Control. The home I think it fits nicely in is Knights. Knight exemplar + student of warfare + Hero, is nothing to sneer at. The only problem with knights at the moment is it's not consistant enough to be valid atm.
I'm not sure if I see eye-to-eye with Mortarpod. How exactly do you use that well? I've been rolling it over in my mind for a while now, but I can't see it being all that great. I mean, I guess you could block then shoot off a token for 1, but is that all it's for (with or without Bladehold in the deck? asking because I've seen it mentioned in straight-up Caw-Blade w/o tokens).

Well done Wizards.
Liliana does not objectify women in any way at all. We have gotten to a point in our society that every single picture of a women must be objectifying a women in some negative way......blah blah blah.. That is not the case. (((Sarcasm)))Picture of a girl drinking a milk shake, must be sex related and putting women down, picture of girl sitting on a beach, picture of a girl driving a car, picture of a girl on the moon at a new space station.)))
You have a picture of an attractive strong power women who girls dress up as for anime conventions. What more do you want? The picture is fine, happy to see a reprint. Sick of of seeing people claim that everything in existence must be putting women down. Then all I have to do is replace the word "women" with anything else to get the same mentality; fish, cats, arabs, blacks, jews, men, environment, whites, chinese, old people, etc. It doesn't matter what word I put in. Stop sucking life out of everything man. That artwork of her is awesome. Stop putting stuff down man. Just stop. If the picture was really as negative as you claim she would totally nude, in a kitchen, making sandwiches and giving blow jobs. Her abilities would be horrible as well. +1 do nothing -2 do nothing -6 do nothing. Instead liliana of the veil is an amazing planeswalker comparable to jace, the mind sculpter with great art to appreciate.
My suggestion listen to some comedy radio for a while, pandora is free, youtube is free there is something out there for you. ***** go make fun of somebody. The whole world is so serious and campaigning for some cause, or someones rights, everything is a hate crime, racist, sexist. blah blah blah.
"O no mcdonalds must be slandering a hate crime against skinny people every time they make a big mac." hahaha jeeze You're just someone perpetuating another groups negative perspective that they've made you believe is correct. Look at the picture for a hour and tell me what's wrong with it? I don't see anything.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.

Mostly for cobras/birds since spot removal is pretty limited. I guess it works on boros as well only if they dont have a uncracked fetch.
I've been testing hero of bladehold in this deck...
It's pretty insane, i found that sitting back on it (like you would a baneslayer) is key.
However this has not been an unusual occurance against Boros:
Play hero, take a beating.
Play Gideon and suck them into attacking him, block such as to keep him alive.
attack with Hero & gideon for 3 + 2 +2 + 7 =14 damage, combine this with another creature or a sword and they're pretty dead with the number of fetches that they run.
One of the key tests it passes (especially in that matchup) is the Lightning Bolt test which none of your other creatures pass.
Also it allows you to make very effective use of Mortarpod... which becomes insane.
I guess my only question would be why not just play baneslayer over the hero in the boros match as well?? First strike + life link still pretty great against most boros threats. The only major advantage over the slayer I think is the 4 drop. Blocking gideon with bladehold and then getting bladehold bolted isn't really going to be much help, though if gideon can just eat the damage you might be on to something with the battle cry.

That is why she is in the sb. She comes in the matchups where your opponent has to 2-4-1 them self to deal with it or they cannot deal with it all together.
I tested a bit last night with hero as a three of maindeck. I played a few sets against valakut (with cobras) and I have to tell you Hero was sick in that match up. It provides such a fast clock that they can not rely on their inevitability to get them the win. It is like demi god says they have to 2-4-1 or lose.
I can see the attraction in the Valakut matchup though our matchup is already favorable against them. In the mirror I would rather the answer to equipped hawks given by Baneslayer as otherwise it's a simple equip for the opponent and we're losing advantage.
Sure, you're still filling the board, but FaF means they're attacking your hand.
@nnehl I just took a quick look at your deck that's linked trough your sig. Was wondering if it's still your current deck and are you still running SFM as a 3-of? How is that working for you? Im asking this question because I've though about cutting my set down to 3 SFM so I can add another card whether it be a creature for threat or another spot removal or counter spell. My problem is even with SFM as a 4-of I feel like I don't see her enough on my opening hand.
I dont know, still I really Really like this card.
