If you aren't running enemy colours (which presumably you aren't if you're running Vamps), and you don't have landfall (ditto), there isn't much point.
Thats kinda what i was thinking but then allot of the mon decks do inlcude fetch lands.........so are they just being silly or is there an advantage in doing so?
They thin your deck out of lands. I'd say it's worth it.
at 20 bucks a pop for no other reason than that? F no its not worth it unless your loaded with cash. if you thinking you will use them than MAYBE but i'd wait and see what ones i need.
If you're playing Vampires and you're not playing Nocturnus, you're not playing the best Vampire deck you can. If you're playing Nocturnus and you're not playing 8 fetch lands, you're not playing the best deck you can. You'll need Verdant Catacombs and Salt Marshs.

This. I just had this same conversation with someone an hour ago at a tournament. Definitely play fetchlands if you can trade for them or buy them when they go down to around 12-15. Thinning your deck of lands in an aggro deck is a great strategy, especially in Vampires because you're not that concerned with life-loss. Nighthawk and the Bloodwitch (if you run it) will help with that.
Ok so you need the fetch lands got it, now the only question remains which ones do people think are going to be most useful to vampires in the future.....lol no mono obvoiusly.

Guess it depends, if you go mono then Marsh Flats and Catacombs I believe it is. However I think vampire is stronger splashed. I'm testing UB, seems though a lot of people are going BR.

Any with Black in it. Marsh Flats or Verdant Catacombs.
I play vamps, but I don't buy into the hype of the fetches. For that to work at all, they have to be your turn 5 land (or you don't play Nocturnus on-curve), and the odds of putting a black land on top are very slightly better than they already were when you started your turn. Playing a fetch before turn 5 is playing a strictly-worse swamp (costs you a life). Thinning your deck to help out Nocturnus is extremely marginally useful; in other words, not worth $90+, IMO.

A non-0% chance of changing the top of the library from a land to a black card is better than a 0% chance of changing the top of the library from a land to a black card. That's not hype, that's fact.
If turning your top card black is your only need for a fetchland, then the fetches do nothing until Nocturnus is out and your top card isn't black. If your top card IS black, a fetchland would actively hurt you.
Therefore, if fetchlands are out of your price range/you're not convinced you should run them, try Liliana Vess. Fetchlands give you a random chance of a black card on top; Liliana not only guarantees you a black card on top, she lets you make it any card you want to draw next turn.
Similarly, Sign in Blood can change your top card while also being a card you'd want to play anyway.

uhhh no. fetchlands thin your deck so you will have less chance to draw lands. it's not useless when you don't have nocturnus out. on the latter, im pretty sure people won't be that dumb to crack a fetch when they have a nocturnus out and the card on top of their library is black.

Just proxied some up, and they really do make a difference its not huge but it won me a game that i would have otherwise lost so i am sold on them now.....probably can't afford 8 though, going to start with 4-6.
The amount of deck thinning fetchlands provide isn't actually real noticeable until you have sacced several of them.
Zvi mathmatically calculated this a while back. I would try to dig up the article, but it's several years old and more than likely buried in all sorts of archives. I do remember for a fact when Zvi pointed this out though.

Um, not quite.
In Vampires, they provide a shuffle effect for Nocturnus.

Sorry i am new; isn't everything black in the deck anyway why would you want to shuffle for nocturnus?
Lands aren't black...
And actually yeah; the deck thinning is so marginal as to not be worth the 1 life, but they're definitely worth it for Nocturnus (I forgot about him).
