So... I've been considering removing the birds from my deck. It's useful because the deck is three colors, but a better mana base can satisfy that. The entire game has slowed down dramatically since Colsnap & Timespiral block has rotated-out, and BoP for acceleration may be unnecessary.
It's not that a first-turn BoP is bad, but if I had a FoD or a BoP in hand turn 1, i'd rather cast the FoD. Synergy with the Bloom Tender is too great.
I suppose Birds mean a turn-2 thoctar, but otherwise, I'd always prefer a bloom tender. I lost two matches in FNM last week because I top-decked BoPs 12-14 turns in, instead of something useful.
After a lot of testing the biggest problem this deck has is Lark. I have Faerie Macabre in the sideboard, but I feel it is the most useless card. I can't cast it, and it really is only there for Lark.
What are some of the ways you battle Lark?
I went up against a Lark deck and they Sowered my creatures and Ful maged my lands left and right. It was really rough.
I don't think Titanic Ultimatum is what this deck needs. It's too slow and you probably won't have any land to cast it thanks to The Beast.
two bloom tenders and a bird gets you untimatum, besides a singleton doesnt hurt at all.
Before the thread gets way off sub, im not saying that you have to use T.U. i was just saying if the guy from the post above was haveing isssues with topping BoP than maybe he could scale back and find something to boost what hes rollin' with. thats all.
Personally, i never had any issue w/ the BoP. it actually works really well for me.

alright, maybe you could try moonhold to keep them from setting up more lad drops, see they have to be able to get to 5or 6 or whatever the evoke cost is for lark or at least 4 to get to sower. thats where you should be trying to stop them. dont let them get that far. as far as GY hate, relic is as good as any right now. you play quite a different build than i do so its going to have to be your choice what stays and what goes. hope i helped.

I actually run 1 Titanic Ultimatum and it is nice. It's a wonderful surprise for your opponent when they finally figure out a way to kill your Razer and bring the lands back.
My new decklist rocks my socks off.....I'll post it up after states, but my oh my! I will say this we took birds out and it has been about the best thing we have done yet to this deck. So yeah, take em out if you hate top decking that late game and put it something that would actaully be good to draw around turn 5 or 6....

o and to that guy who said ornithopter only is used for chump blocking, sacking for titan and wif warhammer is an idiot....u just eplain 3 solid uses for a creature that costs 0....
Sorry for the tri-post. i wouldnt board the tenders they make this thing go. for every efficient creature there is somewhere an efficient answer....just the way the world works my friend.
Aren't you worried that the Keeper will give your opponents mana? It looks like a card with a large backfire potential. I'm not sold on Flameblast Dragon in this deck either.
I am definitely going to build this when I get the cards I ordered in... however I don't know if I am going to lean towards a Vengeant Control style of this deck, or the full aggro that we all know and love. I suppose I will test both variations in a couple weeks when the cards arrive and post my results.
alright so the diffenence between the vengant control and aggro build is what?....a switch of walkers' and a little more burn? im diggin the og agro smash face/swipe land rock this jabronski with a big bad razer.
but hey thats just me.
oh yeah, if your lookin' to drop the BoP for a little more BA-ZING! try wild nactyl.
Ok, so it's coming down to getting the final build together. I have read multiple threads on Hellrazer...and am planning on taking it to states. There are a few questions though...things that I want to discuss in the next few days. One: is Steward needed? Some say yes and others say no. Two: same thing with Shield of the Oversoul? My friend feels it is a two for one against me...but especially in the RDW matchup...it is really good. Three: Firespout or O. Ring in the main? I know these are meta choices, but there has to be some good arguements one way or the other.
-If you have birds and tenders you don't really need stewards. Just make sure you have other sturdy attacker/blockers.
- I think shields are good even MD. sure they can be bounced and 2-for-1'ed, but if they aren't then they're so valuable, not just against RDW, but against every other deck that has really powerful really annoying flying creatures (Demigod, Oona, Godhead, all of the Alara Dragons, etc). There's nothing like blocking a giant predator dragon with a little wussy shielded BoP. I think a good choice isn't to board them in when they're useful, but to board them out when they're not useful.
- I like O-Rings. I don't want to kill my mana accelerators, and O-Rings make nice targets for bouncing/destroy enchantment spells. This take attention away from the shields.
how bout gift of the gargantuan as well
it looks like a decent replacement/subsitute for harmonize

Asked this question up front for even more feedback.

What about root maze? might help in slowing down ops. land drops "post" razer.
Very very sneaky. I love adding the black for a nice finisher. Perhaps it would be smarter to cut the Profane down to 2.
He's just necessary. Cryptic is around...and *** can come and end the game for u if u don't have the right cards...
