Well Jan, Dzyl, the guy who made the deck and piloted it to day two at the GP has given up on it, saying on stream that once it was a known quantity it wasn't good enough to play. He said he got a lot of his wins off of his opponents misplaying because they had no idea what they were playing against.
so in a nut shell: "in a pro's opinion the deck is now useless?"
which probably is true for a protour and grand prix usage of the deck list. but probably less so, for grand prix trials and fnm modern.

I should probably clarify. I was responding to the 'is this the best version' question.
My answer being no, probably not, but there's no real way to know because we're not in modern season, and the deck doesn't get very much representation at the modern events that are being run.
The list is credited to Todd Anderson from the SCG video/article about the deck. That's the earliest I remember seeing the list after he 4-0'd the MTGO Modern Daily with it. The one played at the GP looks 90% similar to that initial list, with a few modifications for the metagame.

Hi,
I have been testing the Fury of the horde version with Snapcaster mage and Creeping tar pit for a week now, and I can tell the difference.
Snapcaster has won me several games by flashbacking Goryo's vengeance / Izzet charm and by hitting for some damage that was needed after an Emrakul swing.
Creeping tar pit has been useful as well, but not as much as snapcaster.
Currently I am running 2 Snapcaster mages main board and 1 Creeping tar pit. I run 2 more Snap in the SB
So far, the most difficult matchup pre and post board is, as stated in the Primer, Twins.
i just realized fling is in the format... its seems viable to discard two spg and cast fling for 7 damage if you can't draw another fury of the horde, or if you reanimated griselbrand on your opponents turn, fling gives us an opportunity to actuallly hit them.
its a stretch but the same could be done with an emrakul as well if you have the right situation.
also if a creature reanaimted with goryo's vengeance is sacrificed or destroy (which fling will do), it escapes the "exile at end of turn" clause. (last i checked the rules it did that)

Fling! i love this idea. And you are right, you will not exile the sacrificed creature at the beginning of the next end step.
You can hardcast or reanimate it via Goryo's Vengeance. If you reanimated it, you choose the order for the trigger ability. Just put Obzedat's one on top. You will have a 5/5 body and a 4 lifes point difference at the beginning of your next upkeep.
At the beginning of your end step, you may exile Obzedat. If you do, return it to the battlefield under its owner's control at the beginning of your next upkeep. It gains haste.
Return target legendary creature[...] Exile it at the beginning of the next end step.
in some instances the reanimator could use a mid range creature to hard cast. obzadat might be a good one.

I like the card, but I fear it has no protection from any kind of removal. We run Emrakul because it dodges most of the removal, and Griselbrand because we can draw 7 in response and get some answers.
I've been having some trouble recently with having 2 or even 3 Fury of the hordes in my hand... Now I understand Kahyela's statement, but I am unable to see how I could win the game without fury.
For those who play the Ooze version, they just banned Deathrite Shaman. I'm not sure what I would replace it with. There's Simian Spirit Guide for a temporary, free mana boost or Birds of Paradise as a mana fixer and permanent accelerator.
Seriously, they just unleashed a can of worms... there is no reason in my mind why this deck should not be taking over the tournament scene in the near future with the bannings of DRS.

Faeries might be a reason. Griselbrand doesn't do as much when he is chump-blocked by Bitterblossom-produced tokens and counterspells are strong against this deck.
Thinking of Volcanic Fallout instead of Pyroclasm in the SB now that Bitter is legal. It would also help against UR Delver.
On the other hand, it would slow the deck down vs affinity or infect.

i always ran anger of the gods over pyroclasm. 3 damage all creatures maybe more relevant now that naya is going to be a thing once again. pyroclasm in legacy often came up short in killing merfolk and naya's 2/3s and 3/3s, hence why I always say 3 damage all creatures is better. fortunately faeries are pretty small, they can be wiped out with anger of the gods already if one sideboards it.

I guess it's meta dependant. I see lots of control / midrange decks being played or emerging (UWR, Twins, Delver, Fae...) I like volcanic fallout because it can't be countered and kills all the x/1 creatures these decks usually run.
I know anger of the gods is better vs aggro, but maybe just trying to combo off vs aggro is a better plan than sideboarding.

For some who play with W, have you try to add one or two Obzedat, Ghost Council ?
