The middle three look like Green, Blue, Black. I can’t decide which ones from the first and last are White and Red. I think the first is Red and the last White.

The last one I can assure you is the one you get during the Face the Horde. The second one that lets you play an additional land is from release day.
They are a gimmick for use with the special deck you can buy and/or play during game day...you can collect all 5 cards per set plus I want to say an additional like 2 or 3.
If I'm not mistaken these are one for each color of the 5 colors of magic just like in theros. we will be getting an additional choice of 5 for jin for when we face xenagos.
The last one is definitely for beating the hoard, these look like mock-ups however because all but 2 look like they are numbered 4
Wizards print good rares, players complain about cash grab. They print underwhelming rares, players complain that the cards suck. They spoil the best cards first, players complain about the insane prices of preorders. They spoil the meh cards first, players complain that this is the worst set ever.
So. I think I understand now.
As far as these forums are concerned, WotC can never do anything good because:
Card that is new and probably good = "pushed"
Card that is new and probably bad = "EDH/casual fodder"
Card that is a reprint = "lazy"
Card that is a better version of an older card = "power creep"
Card that is a weaker version of an older card = "worthless"
Maybe I need my eyes checked...I swear I see 4 on 1 3 and 4 and 5 on 2 and 6 on 5
No, that's correct. Assuming this is legitimate, we've got 3 out of the 5 prerelease heroes, the release hero, and the game day hero; we're still missing the other 2 prerelease heroes. (By the looks of it, we have the white, blue, and black ones, and are missing red and green.)
The different numbers are interesting. All the Theros hero cards had a 1 on them, as you got them on step 1 of the Hero's path. Shouldn't these all have a 4?
edit: I get it, the 5 is for one you get on the Release week-end, 6 is Game Day.

No, the prerelease heroes all had a 1. Release is 2, game day is 3. So for BNG, prerelease is 4, release is 5, etc.

Okay okay, I'm understanding now. I didn't look that close to theros release cards and missed the other 2. So when I saw these I assumed maybe a wizards mock up of the cards and they were supposed to be numbered 1-5 for prerelease, 6 release etc...I should have realized that was how it was done because the one that was numbered 5 and the one that was numbered 6 didn't make sense to how I thought originally. I'll be going to sleep soon I think the brain needs rest.
Regardless of how to utilize the cards in the game, from an aesthetic point, I find the 'orange' color and structure very interesting - and MUCH nicer than the 'new' cardframe coming with M15.
*Bets money all the half-interest people asking questions will forget everything and end up repeating the process at JOU*
For those who are actually up on these and interested in Heroes for Game Day (and other variants), I want to ask you: Do them feel more like permanents or Vanguards/Emblems?
Those who read the FAQ closely will recall that the Hero cards were ruled permanents there. I remember getting into disputes with people over the merits of this, especially for variants. I erred on the side of them being permanents. I felt that for balance and interactivity reasons, this made sense. Otherwise, you end up with broken cards that can't be killed (since they're in the Command Zone).
This new series seems to fall in line with my thinking. They're all fairly playable, and some are downright overpowered (especially as emblems).
I'm half hoping that the Horde has some way to kill Heroes, just so players can't roll it too easily.
Also, what's this about fighting Xenagos in JOU? Where was that confirmed?

They can't be interacted with, they are not permanents. They had a fairly large, multi-day MTGO standard constructed tournament with these cards. Everyone was able to use 2 at a time, and it was a pretty fun tournament. I never found out if the community ended up beating the hydra though....

Yeah, when I looked at the decklists there, Deathrite Shaman's popularity had skyrocketed in every deck with The Harvester ("t: Draw a card, then discard a card") in it. I remember that The Harvester was also one of the most common Heroes in the tournament.
I wonder which of the BNG Heroes will be the most popular. The -1/-1 until EOT inflicter looks nasty...
some snippets:
Quest #4 takes place at the Born of the Gods Prerelease. It is themed "Master your Destiny"—now that you are well begun on your Hero's Path, you select a heroic destiny for yourself from among the five colors of Magic. This both determines the seed booster you'll use to build your deck at the event and the Hero Card you receive inside the box. In addition, there is a light Quest #4 activity related to using your Prerelease promo card in an epic way.
Quest #5 takes place at Born of the Gods Release Weekend, beginning with FNM. It is themed "Venture into the Wilds"—if you can find the hidden message in the wild space depicted, you will receive a Hero Card.
Quest #6 takes place at Born of the Gods Game Day. It is themed Battle the Horde and is the culmination of the second arc of the Hero's Path. Each participant, either alone or with friends, battles with his or her own Magic deck against the Horde Challenge Deck, a unique experience with unique cards designed for the Hero's Path.
I have bolded part 6 as it looks like Battle the Horde is not for single player only as previously indicated. edit: the playmat only refers to "the player" but it seems easy enough to have a second or third player join in.
These seem like the best by far,
and I'm highly encouraged-
I've been wanting them to explore the design space of exiling an emblem
ex- "Exile this Emblem: Counter target Spell"
It's not quite there yet,
but they seem to be testing it out here, at least.

The Explorer and the Vanquisher are WAY cool. I'm more excited than ever to Battle that Horde now!
In all, I'd say these are more powerful than the first set of Hero cards for Theros, but I think they're conveying the idea of us "leveling up", so that makes sense.
