desirable cards will be a 1 or 2 of at most. don't hold your breath for the total cost to be anywhere near MSRP.
Really depends on your shop. My lgs for instance sells all the commander except the TRM one for retail and it has been that way since launch (and if you buy a 5 pack they are all under MSRP).

There's no way they can pack XXX playable cards into a 60 card deck and 15 card sideboard. Even if the deck has a couple 2 ofs, unless the whole deck is 4x of everything, then good bye modern single prices.
No but really these will be no less than 100 dollars if they have anything good in them. There is no point to looking forward to these, it'll be marginally cheaper than the contents card for card or exactly as expensive as card for card. Reprints of cards is the key you're looking for here more than affordable pricepoint because that isn't a reality.
Pretty solid idea if you ask me. Standard Event Decks always sucked because of the volatility of the format; they were either worthless within a few months or contained a chase rare and were laughably over MSRP.
Modern prices should be a lot more stable. I can buy one of these, and even if the deck goes out of fashion there will be solid stuff like fetchlands that will retain value. It also seems like it might help temper the price of fetches until the release of MM2 or a standard reprint.

Best guess right now would be 2 fetches, 1 shock, 2 Filters and basics for lands. Maybe 2 money rare/mythics, and the rest will be solid commons/uncommons, and sideboard rares. If the print run is high enough something like that would at least stay around MSRP after a month or so.
Interested to see what the actual print runs of these are.
Also, what decks are reasonably competitive (not necessarily strictly optimized) without spending more than $100 on the secondary market now? They might be conservative with the first release.
Or, this might be the long-needed punch in the guts to card speculators that Magic needs.
hopefully path to exile , lightning helix , inquisition of kozilek and other uncommon staples will go near the $4 less range ( people really dont want to pay $4 + to these and in some cases it is one of the things that keeps people out of the trying the formart )
and wishing for fetches too

Event decks for modern with a MSRP of 74.99 so will probably include fetches and shocks.
Yeah the MSRP will not be followed at all.
708th at Grand Prix: Toronto 2013
Modern: U/R Delver, RUG Scapeshift, Pod
Standard: Jeskai Tempo
Legacy: Dredge, Burn
Pauper: Mono-U Delver
EDH: Ghave, Token Master
Impossible to know without knowing the contents or print run. It could very easily be sold at MSRP.

When it escaped, the experimenters hesitated. It would cause untold havoc, yet they wished to see it in action.
Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
Maybe the MSRP is $75 because WOTC knows retailers are going to jack the price up anyway.

but it's very nice to see nonetheless.
Thankfully, I usually buy foil, so I don't have to worry as much about my cards tanking in value
I am so, SO glad I spent my Christmas money on foils now!

If it does have that, you're still not buying it because it will cost $300.

but its about damn time, modern is way too expensive to thrive as a new format that was designed to be easier to get into than legacy.
legacy: Doomsday, Dredge, BUG (shard less and still)
modern: storm, woo dredge, U-tron
EDH: maelstrom wanderer, Gisela, krenko, lazav, sharrum, sheoldred/xiahou dun, norin the wary, Thrax, Mimeoplasm, GW legends

That still sounds like quite the bargain to me!
IMO, it's fairly safe to bet there will be one on-color fetch and shock in each deck.
I wouldn't expect any nonland card worth more than $25.
