@Rhand: Why were you so quick to draw a parallel between Empire and here? Karn's character was a neutral hitman that was specifically designed to keep the (still overpowered) Neutral Mason Survivors with Daychat in check. rezombied has already clarified points that indicate that the scenario here is not the same.
Alright, agreed. Probably more risk than reward in letting TK shoot and there isn't much incentive to trust him since really his only chance of winning now is his first win-con. Plus, we know we're eliminating a target that goes against our win-con with this vote.
The scenario isn't the same indeed, but I feel like we are mindlessly lynching someone we could make use of.
As long as he didn't kill an alien and we're not in lylo (including him at the scum side for that scenario), i don't understand why he should die.
Please explain why he should.
we're in a mini. If this were a larger game I'd be more interested in leaving him around, but in a game this size, having a non-town kill floating around is a Very Bad Thing.
Consider that your suggestion—lynching him if he goes rogue—puts us in the exact situation we are currently in except that we are down another player. It would be great if TK would shoot scum for us, but a) he's aiming for a Human, not scum, and b) we don't know who is what species. Now that TK has claimed his wincon... I don't expect we'll see a lot of scum claiming to be humans. Thus, there won't be any effective way to enforce his aim, since I suspect if given a choice he'll go for an easy win rather than actually cooperating.
Even if we just point and say shoot and he does, what does that get us? A survivor with no incentive to act with us at any point for the rest of the game. If he misses with his shot we're really in bad shape.
We can't afford to lynch him later, and leaving him alive is dangerous.
There's too many "ifs" and not enough wiggle room here for me to advocate leaving him alive.
He won't go rogue if we don't let him on the wagon toDay. His only chance to win is shoot who we tell him to and take his chances with toMorrow's lynch being human.
Unless if he is lying and scum, which is the only good reason i see for lynching him now instead.
I say we give him a target toNight.
If he hits human, we don't have to waste a lynch on him.
If he hits alien, we lynch him.
I see no reason not to use his vigshot for town purposes toNight.
Miss Blue: why the immediate lynch reaction?
In empire of Astarte, lynching the claimed neutral with a vigshot was clearly the wrong Day 1 choice and ended in a scum win.
The two games aren't comparable, Rhand. FIGHTING pretty much surmised it well enough -- in a larger game, the impact of TK killing town is lower, but in a Mini, that misfire would hurt us a lot more.

So what you are saying is that a vig should not shoot at night in a 12 player game?
We should not give him more than one option: we vote a lynch and a vigtarget.
To be sure he won't quickhammer a human, we can agree to not claim names or races.
I still fail to see why he should be dealt with toDay.
If he hits human, we don't have to waste a lynch on him.
The town win condition is that all non-town players must die. Mister TK claimed to be non-town. Therefore, Mister TK must die.

Because he is a claimed Neutral and there is no guarantee he will shoot how we want him to. And if he misses, he will be killed for it because of the town win condition. There is no guarantee he will hit mafia with his shot, and regardless, it is an awful plan. The last time a Hitman was given the chance to fulfill his win condition instead of getting lynched, Mister Wessel ended up killing Mister Zionite in The Hobbit Mafia. I do not trust Mister TK and I am not going to play against my win condition.
Quote from Rhand »
Miss Blue: why the immediate lynch reaction?
Aside from the fact that he has to die for me to win the game, this seems like an obvious way for a mafia-aligned Toughguy or an SK to skate to endgame based on a claim and I am surprised you have not considered this.

This is also not comparable at all to that game, given that Astarte had what, 5 factions?
The secondary yes, but we can help him with his primary wincon without hurting town. Are we seriously going to throw away a vigshot and waste a lynch on someone that will just leave the game?
This is a bad plan and you should feel bad.
Quote from Rhand »
Like I said, as soon as his first wincon fails we should lynch him, but toDay that is not (yet) the case.
Oh, you mean saving a lynch for the claimed Survivor when we are in LyoL, for example? What could possibly go awry?
He has no incentive to help town.
If we don't lynch him and end up lynching a human today, he can win tonight. As long as he hits a human he wins, if he misses he's lost anyway so there's no reason for him to try to hit scum.
What Mister Zombie said. As soon as Mister TK claimed, he lost (presuming he is a Neutral), and he should have known that.
That's easy to solve:
* We don't allow him to be on the lynch wagon toDay
* He has to kill who we say he kills or he gets lynched toMorrow
* from toMorrow on, he gets one shot to be on the correct wagon
You are deflecting too hard from the wagon on Mister TK and I do not like it one bit, Mister Rhand.
@Rhand: Why were you so quick to draw a parallel between Empire and here? We do not even know if Mister TK is being truthful about his win condition. For all we know, he could need all humans dead, and given that the Planet Express crew is primarily comprised of humans, I am not comfortable with keeping him alive.
Good. If his claim is true then he made a serious mistake.
Just took a look at the rules, Blue Electric stated things true. And with a rule like that in place there is no reason why we should trust a neutral, especially this kind.

"You cannot keep that puppy. Throw it out the hatch!" Shouted Cythare as he ran towards Void.
"WHO CARES ABOUT THE PUPPY? I HOPE IT BLOWS AND TAKES ALL YOU PUNY HUMANS WITH IT!!!" As everyone turned towards TK-421, he quickly cleared his throat. "What I meant to say was, we can probably work together to find out who is plotting to take over Planet Express, right guys?"
"What was that first line? The part about it blowing up?" iRebel was already moving in TK's direction.
"I said, I...um..." TK-421 lunged for the puppy. "You can't have it. IF I'M GOING DOWN, WE ALL ARE!"
"Get him!"
"Hold him down!"
A scramble ensued. Robo-puppy started running all over the cabin. "Robo-puppy will self destruct in T-23 seconds."
Idle Muse grabbed Robo-puppy out from under a chair. "Keep holding him down." He reached over and grabbed some duct tape. As the crew taped the puppy to TK's chest he continued to shout.
"ROTTEN HUMANS. PREPARE FOR THE END. MRS. MORBO IS GOING TO BE VERY ANGRY."
As the final adjustments were made and the ship lifted off the ground, TK-421 was shoved into the airlock.
"Robo-puppy is very nervous."
"HE'S PIDDLING ON ME!" And with that, the airlock was opened and TK-421 with Robo-puppy attached floated out into the great nothing of space.
The explosion that came next shook the ship to it's core. "That puppy was a plant. Someone is trying to take us out."
"We're going to figure it out. In the meantime, can someone clean that mess off of the windshield?"

“Up next on the News at Eleven….DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!”
Abilities:
You are a Human Hating Hit Man.
You have 2 Shots total. Each night you may choose to shoot one person. If you kill two Humans you will fulfill your win condition and leave the game.
If you fail to kill two humans your win condition becomes that of a neutral survivor – You must be alive at the end of the game.
You may vote
Morbo's Win Condition:
You win when YOU kill two humans
Other Information:
Gender: Male
Species: Unknown Alien
Planet: Nintenduu 64
And with that, night has fallen. No more posting until D2.
If you have a night action to submit, you have until 8PM on Thursday to submit it.
I would rather not take my chances with a claimed Neutral with a killing ability. We have plenty of options for a Day 2 lynch, and Night will likely help us close off some more misleading avenues.
As it stands, the people that I am willing to lynch (barring Mister TK for his claim) are:
iRebel
Idle Muse
Shockwave07
Cythare
Rhand
Cythare and Shockwave are afterthoughts, though, as I am particularly certain that any members of the mafia are in the other three I listed.
Town lost empire of Astarte because they lynched the claimed neutral with killing ability D1.
If we can guide his kill to help us poe the game, then why should we not do so?
If he hits human, we can help him fulfil his wincon. If he hits alien, all we need to do is lynch him before he can win the game with scum.
I forgot to mention this before we went to night, but this post was deleted in error earlier and has been posted back to the thread.

I think I understand perfectly why Rhand must swing, in a way of course that is quite unlike the childhood device named after said action, but I must ask to not rush this lynch!
I may have had quite a catch!
...Plus I need confirmation on a rule ruling... That may or may not be associated with my role.
Alright, question asked, answer received, and now I shall tell of what I know.
I'm afraid the kill, if I am right and I did hit the Mafia's chosen player to do a night kill with my ability, is only delayed, not prevented.
I am Dr. Zoidburg Town Delayer.
I used said ability on Idle Muse last Night and should he live through toDay I think any town trackers might find his target toNight to be very interesting, provided what I am right about hitting the one to carry out the night kill.
Whatever method you choose to verify this, lynch of either myself for role or Idle Muse, waiting and Watching, looking for a double NK, I am happy even as I probably sent the change rolling down the receptacle of a suicide booth.
Shockwave, am I understand you correctly that you're saying that your ability delays an action and you targeted Idle Muse so you think that's why there was no NK?
If Idle Muse is lynched, do you know if his action would still go through, if he had one?
If there are no other explanations for the lack of a NK, I'd be willing to lynch Idle based on this. Were plenty of good NK targets so I don't see it in the scum's interest to gambit with a no kill last night and pull something like this - especially since Shock wasn't facing much pressure.
Vote: Idle Muse - unless another explanation for the lack of a kill comes up.
@iRebel - what's going on with you? Want to understand your motivations for your question at the end of yesterday more.
Came into today thinking it was Rhand and Void - still think that Void's defense of TK is completely fishy, but I understand the votes on Rhand and would support that lynch if not for this Idle information.
With TK flipping neutral, pursuing Void for defending him is nonsense.
I'm pretty sure there is scum in the Fighting - Rezombied - Miss Blue cluster.
Voting me for wanting to use TK's nightkill to help town is bollocks.
I'm being treated like an easy mislynch now.
My gut says it's Blue. She knows me well and should realize that I am not auto-scum for that. She also posted after Shock's action claim without switching her vote to Idle Muse.
@Rhand, I'm not making him a top priority at this point, but I'm also not ruling out that he knew something about TK or that he wanted to look better by clearing TK, thinking TK was town since he wasn't part of the scum team.
His thought process around TK in that moment was and still is a complete head scratcher for me and I still can't reconcile the idea that, as town, he'd rush to clear TK in that scenario with the information out there at the time.
That being said, there are probably only two scum due to TK's role, and with the Idle Muse/Shock situation out there, there are other places of higher priority and at least most of my top suspects (you, Void, iRebel) can't be scum if Idle Muse is.
I expect Zoidberg to be in the game, so if he isn't counterclaimed on name, I don't think that's worth looking into.
And if scum has falseclaims, they would be spelled correctly as well
@iRebel - what's going on with you? Want to understand your motivations for your question at the end of yesterday more.
It's really simple: It helps with my role. I asked for two because Earth is one of the planets in the list, and that can be reasonably claimed by a lot of Futurama characters.

I tend to counter-argument the lynch when I'm not sold on the player being scum or when I think there are better paths to take.
That's part of who I am as a person and definitely not telling of my alignment.
@Void: I do not know if there is a doc or not. All I really have to go on is A) This probably isn't a normal setup, and B) the information I have in front of me. (Game thread, Role PM, Ect.) But for now I am going with the possibility that my ability is the one that caused this.
It's also why I offered confirmation possibilities in the event someone would wish to pursue them instead of me. Of course one confirmation only works if we have a town tracker...
In the context of the game, if there is a protective role like a doc, I find it hard to believe that they would have used it on Idle Muse.
Nothing to suspect that he has a role worth protecting and his play wasn't among the most town players and he isn't among the more experienced players.
Okay so how do we figure out whether Shock's action is the reason for the lack of a death?
Tracking Muse won't do anything because there's really no way he takes an action Tonight.
Waiting for a second NK to pop up tonight won't work because, if the NK was delayed, seems unlikely that the mafia would kill a second person if Muse is still alive.
The actions he would have taken last Night did not take place and would be delayed until toNight. Track can confirm that. So if Idle Muse was sent out for the NK we can confirm it that way.
Vote stays.

Nothing to suspect that he has a role worth protecting and his play wasn't among the most town players and he isn't among the more experienced players.

Tracking Muse won't do anything because there's really no way he takes an action Tonight.
Waiting for a second NK to pop up tonight won't work because, if the NK was delayed, seems unlikely that the mafia would kill a second person if Muse is still alive.
Thoughts from others?

The actions he would have taken last Night did not take place and would be delayed until toNight. Track can confirm that. So if Idle Muse was sent out for the NK we can confirm it that way.
