How about the Sunday morning/lunch time? Assuming I'm not incredibly hungover, but I'm trying not to drink that much lately. Our school is making us give up our Saturday for some 50th anniversary symposium, and since we're all a little miffed about it, we're probably going to cut loose immediately afterwards.
But Sunday seems like it'll work pretty well, actually.
So, about the CC: We (most of it was m'hatter) come up with an idea for the CC. Madhatter's idea was to creature un-set-like Planechase cards of the current planes (mirrodin etc), but too got an idea after the conversation: Planechase cards about the Clans here on MTGS. We'd of course do a plane for our clan ("The lair of Elder Dragons") and for others ("The headquarter that never was".) and so on.
How does it sound to you?

Seems really good, but we have the time to do that? I don't know the other clans very well, so I can suggest some names, but about the mechanics, I don't know.
Flamingo's Pond for Clan Flamingo
Crafter's Workshop for The Crafters
The Ninth Sphere for Clan Mono Black
Ravnica's Underground Channels/ The Undercity/ Duskmantle for Clan Dimir
MTGS Brigade ???
Tolarian Academy guess for who
Limited ???
The Called ???
Little Italy (?) for The Family
The Kitchen for Kitchen Table Finks
The Pink Side of the Rainbow for Gaymers (?)

Oh, it's not going to take that much time. We need to figure out the names for the planes and the mechanics. (I assume you at least know what planes in PC look like mechanically?)
And NOT un-mechanics, but realistic things. Also, the plane has to advocate the clans playing type, for example our plane would make the board awesome for legendary permanents. CMB would do make things awesome for black permanents/spells, dimir... would make everyone play mental magic or something?
Ideas, ideas. Also, for the pictures we could use every clan's banner they have in their front page.
And if you don't know the other clans so well, you should check out their front page, since there is usually quite well explained the idea of their clan.

We should also make Phenomena cards. One of those must be "Clan Contest." But the CMB's mechanic should be this:
The Ninth Sphere
At the beginning of your upkeep, draw one card and lose one life.
Whenever you roll :chaos:, each player loses 1 life, discards a card, sacrifices a creature, then sacrifices a land.
It's based off their Clan's ranking system. The Ninth Sphere is the level for CMB's leader. I believe they based the system off the concept of Old Phyrexia. Gab used it in his list, so I ran with it.
Congratulation Shortstack! No one is gonna look up on your profile, don't worry
However, for our land:
Lair of the Elder Dragons
Plane - Dominia
Commanders cost 2 less for each time they've been cast from the command zone this game.
Whenever you roll [CHAOS], put a legendary 5/5 red Dragon creature token named Piru with flying and "R: Piru gets +1/+1 until end of turn." onto the battlefield.
Basically, first ability is geared for commander and set off the additional cost, the second is based on the flavor of the Elder Dragons, Piru is a Lesser Dragon, the only known descendant of an Elder Dragon.

The first ability is awesome! However, the second ability seems a tad... underwhelming. Think of it like this, for each plane, the cards should represent that clan and their way of playing. So, instead of putting a token on the battlefield, I was thinking of somthing more... EDH-ish.
Like "Whenever you roll [chaos], you may put your commander on the battlefield from your command zone, then you may exile any amount of commanders controlled by other players.
Also, any ideas for Flamingo/Crafters? Dimir should be something... secretive and mysterious. Or the oppose: Getting information from your opponents, like everyone playing with their hands revealed or so...

What if we did something for Dimir like this: (sorry, I haven't formatted planechase cards before, so there will be many mistakes)
At the beginning of each player's upkeep, that player may look at target player's hand.
Whenever you roll a :symch:, each player discards their hand and draws cards equal to the greatest number of cards discarded this way.
Congratulation Shortstack! No one is gonna look up on your profile, don't worry

Isnt Piru the legendary "sixth" elder dragon? Wasn't she Chromium's partner? I think she is a much more important creature than a firebreathing token. Piru apparently is the colorless Elder Dragon:
Furthermore, Piru seems to be colorless, making it the "sixth color" not represented in the others.
From wikisalvation
Thats so cool o.O she should have this ability if she was ever a card:
Piru Rhuell 8
Legendary Creature - Elder Dragon
Flying
Other permanents you control are indestructible.
At the beginning of your upkeep, sacrifice Piru Rhuell unless you pay 3.
7/7
But that's too much for a token... but still, cool idea
Seems really good, but we have the time to do that? I don't know the other clans very well, so I can suggest some names, but about the mechanics, I don't know.
Flamingo's Pond for Clan Flamingo
good.
Crafter's Workshop for The Crafters
good.
The Ninth Sphere for Clan Mono Black
actually this one is really great! I love the Phyrexia reference!!!
"The Ninth Sphere"
Whenever a land is tapped for mana, it produces B instead of any other type.
Whenever you roll [chaos], you may spend B as though it were mana of any colour until end of turn.
Ravnica's Underground Channels/ The Undercity/ Duskmantle for Clan Dimir
I'll suggest The Undercity... sounds more Dimir I like Bur's idea for it, too
MTGS Brigade ???
"The Internet Forum"? I think that would be a way to interject some humour into this We just have to be careful not to associate the clan, which is good, with the people on MTGS, who are sometimes not good, i.e., no jokes about flamers, trolls, etc. unless we're putting [MTGS Brigade] in a good light XP
Tolarian Academy guess for who
I will not stand for that! The Tolarian Academy is too special... Maybe they could just exist in a "Time Rift", since there *are* so many of them on Tolaria
Limited ???
"The Booster Pack.":
At the beginning of your upkeep or when you planeswalk to The Booster Pack, open a Magic: the Gathering booster pack of the set of your choice. Choose one card from it. You may cast that card without paying its mana cost.
When you roll [chaos], you must repay the player who bought the last booster pack. bahahhahaa
The Called ???
Yeah, I have no idea either What are they all about?
Little Italy (?) for The Family
I kinda like "The Docks", which still alludes to the mobster image [The Family] is going for, but doesn't necessarily refer to the real world.
"The Docks":
At the beginning of your upkeep or when you planeswalk to The Docks, choose a creature. That creature's controller puts it at the bottom of his or her library.
When you roll [chaos], reveal the bottom card of your library. If it is a creature card, you may put it onto the battlefield.
I kinda like that it has the mobster "swimming with the fishies" at the bottom of the sea reference, as well as a "smuggling" reference. That's what mobsters do, right?
The Kitchen for Kitchen Table Finks
YES!!
"The Kitchen"
At the beginning of your upkeep or when your planeswalk to The Kitchen, ask if you can get any food or beverages for anyone. If someone makes a (reasonable) request, you must fulfill it.
When you roll [chaos], compliment another player.
The Pink Side of the Rainbow for Gaymers (?)
I like the name, but I don't know what mechanics we should go for here.
I like the work I'm seeing on this so far, looks cool!
Finally put together the Planeswalker EDH deck. It went pretty well considering I didn't write out or think through a lot of it's construction, I just kind threw in what I thought would work. Won one, lost one.. held pretty decently both games though.
Like "Whenever you roll [chaos], you may put your commander on the battlefield from your command zone, then you may exile any amount of commanders controlled by other players.
At the beginning of your upkeep, sacrifice Piru Rhuell unless you pay 3.
7/7
But that's too much for a token... but still, cool idea
Yeah, but i read that he was supposed to be a lesser dragon, so i made him less powerful. However, your version is way better for flavor and power. Too bad it doesn't fit in the land. I think Bur's idea is the way to go.
@madhatter (too long to quote :P) Love your ninth sphere, it's an awesome idea. Someone said to do only playable cards, so your Kitchen, Booster Pack and Internet Forum are not fulfilling the request. Good ideas though.
Really cool the Family land. I thought about it and come up with another idea. You know, Mafia asks for money for give protection to people...
The Suburbs
Plane - Earth
At the beginning of your upkeep, target opponent chooses a permanent you control. You may give the control of that permanent to that player. If you do, you have protection from that player until your next turn. If you don't, sacrifice it.
Whenever you roll [Chaos], each player gains control of all permanents he or she owns.
The first ability seems a bit wordy, but I found the card absolutely fitting with the theme. Remember that I'm Italian
Maybe if you don't want to talk about real place, just change plane/name.
EDIT: I'm able to do card renders with MSE! I make also a cool expansion symbol. Look at the Suburbs!

I think it would be more fun, as well as funny (which is a judging criterion), to make planes that aren't necessarily "playable" but still capture the spirit of each clan.

Ugh. Green fanboys XD. Kidding. That should actually make it easier to design a plane around them.
"Yavimaya":
At the beginning of your upkeep or when you planeswalk to Yavimaya, search your library for a basic land card and put it onto the battlefield tapped. When you planeswalk away from Yavimaya, destroy all tokens put onto the battlefield with it.
Whenever you roll [chaos], put a 0/1 Green bird creature token with "t: add one mana of any colour to your mana pool." onto the battlefield.

Flamingo could use some really old/bizarre/rare keywords and Brigade... no idea, sadly.

When you planeswalk to The Nevermind, all creatures lose their abilities and become 1/1 pink birds with flying until you planeswalk away from The Nevermind.
Whenever you roll [chaos], creatures you control gain hexproof, indestructible, first strike, frenzy 1, provoke, Rampage 1, and persist until end of turn. At the beginning of the next upkeep, phase out all creatures you control.
The first is a nod to Humility and the Flamingos. Although I don't know if keywords stack onto Humility, so someone may need to help with this. The second is a jumble of abilities that force someone to go all out before losing their creatures (temporarily). And the Nevermind is a place in a story I read a long time ago, where chaos is controlled. I like it

I like it, but the first ability seems more a chaos than a static one. I'm gonna make the renders for the other cards and post them here
EDIT: Trying to fit Bur's Chaos ability in the text box, but it seems too wordy. What about just killing all the commanders? You can recast yours later for the original cmc, so the ability interact with the first one.

Yeah, they can stack as long as the abilities are applied after the Humility-fication (humiliation? XD)
Hello everyone :). I've been lurking a bit, periodically here and there and since the new LGS I am going to does this sort of EDH/Commander day, I figured what better place to ask a few questions. Is Nath of the Gilt-Leaf a decent general for 1v1? If so, what are some good cards to play along with it? I am more savvy in Standard and Modern more than anything but wanted to play more MTG and decided to give EDH a go :), I usually play blue based control decks so I wanted to go outside of my comfort zone and play something with and a bit more midrange/aggro.
Any help is greatly appreciated ^_^.

EDIT 2: I can't find a decent art for the Ninth Sphere, do you have any? For Clan Dimir, we have to do something else
Yeah, they can stack as long as the abilities are applied after the Humility-fication (humiliation? XD)
