stoneforge mystic is now $25-30 with DanBrock being the cheapest on eBay and only 5 sellers on TCG. Is it safe to say that someone saw the price increase and bought it out? I feel like a card this common can only be almost completely bought out on TCG if it is a buyout. Could be wrong on that part though.
WTF that's crazy. lol Though, I suppose it had it coming. The card's been good to very good in legacy for a long while now. True-Name just gave it the bump and more publicity.
It's always possible that there was a buy-out I guess...kinda the "In" thing to do nowadays (IMO irritating and stupid as hell...). But man, True-Name gave a lot of incentive for players to pick up and play Stoneforge again.
It was already trending up due to TNN decks being popular, I don't think this is an unwarranted price increase.
Yeah, I figured it was about time that the price would start trending up. Figured it was bound to happen sooner or later. Guess I hadn't looked back at its price in a few weeks, and missed the rise...so now seeing it at $25-30 from when I last saw it a few weeks ago ($11ish)...it's kind of shocking.
Dear goodness I don't *need* anymore copies (well, maybe just one more for EDH...)...$30 a pop is hard to swallow.
Reprints the one card that people point to when saying that art objectifies women.
Well done Wizards.
Liliana does not objectify women in any way at all. We have gotten to a point in our society that every single picture of a women must be objectifying a women in some negative way......blah blah blah.. That is not the case. (((Sarcasm)))Picture of a girl drinking a milk shake, must be sex related and putting women down, picture of girl sitting on a beach, picture of a girl driving a car, picture of a girl on the moon at a new space station.)))
You have a picture of an attractive strong power women who girls dress up as for anime conventions. What more do you want? The picture is fine, happy to see a reprint. Sick of of seeing people claim that everything in existence must be putting women down. Then all I have to do is replace the word "women" with anything else to get the same mentality; fish, cats, arabs, blacks, jews, men, environment, whites, chinese, old people, etc. It doesn't matter what word I put in. Stop sucking life out of everything man. That artwork of her is awesome. Stop putting stuff down man. Just stop. If the picture was really as negative as you claim she would totally nude, in a kitchen, making sandwiches and giving blow jobs. Her abilities would be horrible as well. +1 do nothing -2 do nothing -6 do nothing. Instead liliana of the veil is an amazing planeswalker comparable to jace, the mind sculpter with great art to appreciate.
My suggestion listen to some comedy radio for a while, pandora is free, youtube is free there is something out there for you. ***** go make fun of somebody. The whole world is so serious and campaigning for some cause, or someones rights, everything is a hate crime, racist, sexist. blah blah blah.
"O no mcdonalds must be slandering a hate crime against skinny people every time they make a big mac." hahaha jeeze You're just someone perpetuating another groups negative perspective that they've made you believe is correct. Look at the picture for a hour and tell me what's wrong with it? I don't see anything.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.
Foil price has already exploded in the past few months ($100 a pop vs. the $40 that it was a while ago.)
SFM was quite undervalued for quite some time especially after TNN where now that combination is quite popular to assemble voltron with TNN + SFM. Also, legacy staple 2 drop and probably best of the 2 drop cycle sitting around at $12 forever? Really? Not happening. The only other part of the 2 drop cycle that is that low is snapcaster and snapcaster was just in print. See where confidant and goyf are. SFM will keep going up over time as more equipment that can be abused with it is printed and the card keeps getting better. Not to mention it isn't getting reprinted in modern masters the only real outlet for reprinting it is in commander decks or as a judge foil.
FYI, the "War of Attrition" event deck contains 2x Stoneforge Mystic. There are two of them on eBay right now, one opened and in an auction and the other sealed with a $44 BIN shipped.
These are not mine, just passing along info if anybody wants to snap them up. Margins are too thin for me to bother with a buy and flip, but if you need them for a deck...

I haven't checked Ebay.com. but I searched Ebay Canada and found only 1 listing left for the event deck. It was $30 BIN with for a sealed deck, with 3 available to buy. I bought all 3 for a total of $130 shipped including taxes.
I know I've been on the scene/market for what appears to be forever now....but is it really out of question for SFM to end up being $50-$70+ bucks soon (its a trend that I can spend 6 hours on if I wanted to on this post, set size, banned card in modern with limited reasons to reprint ect), $25-$34 right now is a steal for how important this card is, so as I have said about 5000 times on this stellar site....get your copies soon folks, mage's are already breaking backs in trades for these gems now....I've heard reports of some asking $40 plus in chase just to part with them....each!
The 100% price increase in SFM we saw over the previous week was both shameful and unwarranted, given that the supply of them was unchanged and the card was a 2-of in a preconstructed deck.
A jump in price is appropriate if coupled with a surge in demand: for example, more people wanting Mother of Runes due to Death & Taxes becoming a Tier 1 deck. TNN decks have been a thing for a few months now and Blade decks have been a Legacy mainstay for over a year. The archetype hasn't seen a big enough jump on the TCDecks statistics to warrant an increase like that.

These days, some wizards are finding they have a little too much deck left at the end of their $$$.

Actually its been on the scene winning (SMF) with regards to Legacy since January of 2011, so in theory its about time the main engine of such successful deck templates gets its warrant "jump", and that fact is directly from TheCouncil, I don't know how you missed that since you're using that source as a reference.
Those Precons you're referring to as well weren't exactly Wal-Mart products either, so in that aspect with the success of SFM since 2011 its a fair "reasoning" for the increase, in either case the time is now...and its happening with justice.

Why is it unwarranted? The $ increase came from the rise in TNN + equipment decks, which Stoneforge is a big part of. Hence the surge in demand. It follows normal price patterns, could have been predicted weeks in advance.
Dark Depths seems like it's going to jump, it's just a matter of time now since 2 Stage-Depths decks made T8.
I thought that at first, but I don't think it will go up more than a few dollars. No matter how much the overall deck is, a lot of people see 1-2 tabernacles required and balk. Most people are fine with $50-100 on duals, but $250-400 on a card for a niche deck will make most people decide not to build it.

i totally agree. no way are people gonna want to pick up 1-2 tabernacles except for a select few people. the deck looks really fun and i'd love to build it and give it a try but that card is most definitely out of my price range.
You guys think Elves stuff is going to go up anymore? I have some heritage druids and wirewood symbiotes that i was thinking of trading but maybe i should hold onto them.

What was MSRP on the Precons? I saw the pair (War of Attrition and Rot from Within) for something like $50 as a set about a week or two ago. Something tells me they won't be there when I go back...
