Signalling is like farting: it's a natural thing that helps people avoid being where you are, and if you try to do it deliberately, things turn to crap fast.

I hereby found the American Chapter of the Zealots of Semantics. All glory to The Curmudgeon.
Sorry about being slow, guys I had to call in sick today, and my spreadsheet for managing the forum drafts is on the computer I have at the office. Hopefully I'll get the next pack up before long.
As much as I hate passing Agent, there's no way it makes a deck we could dream up. Emissary over Cyclops over Assault.

My Decks: EDH: Sygg, River Cutthroat , Road to Scion
Grimgrin, Corpseborn Modern: Polytokes IRL: Progenitus Polymorph , Goblins
I will take Purphoros's Emissary. His evasion makes him a prime target for tricks and auras as much as a true heroic creature. Assault and Cyclops are both worthy of consideration.
We aren't a heroic deck. We are beats, if anything. Emissary goes better with what we have, and what we're likely to pick up. Take the trick if you want, but "not close" and "by miles" are statements that have no place here.

Wit's End is the PERFECT answer to your opponent's Monomania however.
Just hold on to your Wit's End when they Monomania, so you can Wit's End them on your next turn!!!
I think this is fairly reminiscent of the "Jace Battles" we have seen in past standards.. My guess is we will soon witness the great Monomania-Wit's End battles.
Coordinated Assault is far, far better than the Emissary in just about every deck that would play both. It's nearly impossible to profitably evade, whereas the Emissary is most often just an Ill-Tempered Cyclops that doesn't go monstrous.

Respectfully disagree. I honestly believe that Coordinated Assault is superior to the Emissary even in the abstract, and I don't think this pick is particularly close.
Hardened, is it possible that you're letting a belief that we're not heroic distract you here? Every pack, you campaign for the card that is the least suitable for a heroic deck, and it almost seems to me like you're doing it regardless of the quality of the cards in a vacuum.
Not every card in a heroic deck is only good in the archetype. The reason the deck is strong is because so many of the cards are really good, regardless of heroic triggers.

Cheap, awesome trick vs a four drop in an archetype that doesn't really want four drops? I agree that this one isn't particularly close. Easy Assault.

Definitely possible. I have experienced many a heroic deck that didn't come together, and they fall apart with no threats, board presence or CA. So far we haven't been passed anything that makes the key heroic RW decks, so I think it's best to plan on some other deck.
That said, Assault is a fine card in any deck with creatures, and I certainly don't fault it. I simply prefer to take the very good creature over the very good trick here, though I have been wrong before.

Take Coordinated Assault, hope to wheel Cyclops. The Emissary, while powerful, is replaceable when compared with a one-mana trick that can lead to massive blowouts.
So assault is winning 8-4, and I'm surprised that it's as close as that. I've never seen the best heroic enabler in the format be anything but great in play, and often it's a flat out bomb. Your opponent can't afford to play around it on offense or defence or they will fall too far behind. And it's frequently just a blowout.
The Emissary on the other hand.... Solid, but I think I'd take Lightning Strike over it (and I would take assault over the strike).
Be honest: you just feel drawn to support a kindred spirit.

Nah, I'm still choosing the trick. Even if we never pick up a heroic trigger, it's still awesome.
Assault

But Im gonna go with Purphoros's Emissary
Its a very solid 4 - drop with evasion...and we currently have no late game whatsoever.
It's REally annoying to pass agent

If we are going to stick to RW, the pick for me is hopeful eidolon.
Personally I would go with the more powerful card and slam the NIMBUS NAIAD.
