Yeah, me too. Everyone should know how it feels talking in a forum with a dinosaur
Like I said early on in the last thread, my perception of you folks are based off your avatar. If I found out that Gab wasn't a dinosaur, I don't know what I would do.

So, when I go to the card shop to play Pathfinder (a Dungeons and Dragons spin-off), I sit at a table that faces a wall covered in M:tG posters. One of those posters is the card art for Undying Flames with the text "If you could cast one spell for the rest of your life." Things like this make me think, if you could cast one spell from Magic in your day to day life, what would it be and why? Go by the flavor of the card, not just the mechanics.
Form of the Dragon would probably be my pick. There isn't a way to be subtly evil with it, like Stuffy Doll. I could use it more as a utility spell to fly around to places and visit other clan members. Also, breathing fire is awesome.

Mine would have to be Counterspell, because it was probably a lousy spell in the first place.

Seriously, I would go with Sundial of the Infinite. Sometimes I just really wish I can move on from today to the next day right away. A sundial would be perfect.

As for a spell that I could cast for the rest of my life... hmm telepathy maybe? or maybe Time Warp, yeah probably time warp or temporal manipulation.

Yes, the intro post of your guys thread is in fact one of the best I have seen.
Would you guys object if I be a friend of the clan? I am very sociable and actually don't bite
I'll vouch for him. We were in [The Tolarian Academy] together.
______
Also, sorry for not being too active the last few days. I had a crazy awesome weekend. Went recycle shopping (thrift-store shopping) in 'hama, and yesterday went to see my friend's live as this uber-chill bar. That and I was convinced my porta-Wifi wasn't working because my phone wasn't getting the Internet... I have it on my computer, though, so the Wifi device must be working....
Anyways! I'll pop back in soon. Right now, I've got some lovely homework to do...
Hey guys, I started working on these this morning then realized I was out of time. I have Bursama's graded, and I'll get to the rest once I get back from work.
Lumitar, the Rimewind Archmage
Design (5/10 pts.)
Creativity: We never had a snow legend done until this point, but that's probably because Coldsnap was a shallow set. Abilities seem okay, and I like the Keep Watch throwback. (-1 pt.)
Aesthetics: It reads a little messy. May be trying too hard. (-1 pt.)
Potential: I'm not sure who would like this, actually. It feels like a swing and a miss to me. (-3 pt.)
Development (7/10 pts.)
Balance: I'm guessing this guy is supposed to be a 2/4 or so. No P/T makes this difficult to evaluate. The thing that makes me cringe is the potential to activate this twice on the same person's combat step. Maybe make it a delayed trigger.(-2 pt.)
Viability: All these abilities are definitely blue.
Creative Writing: There could probably be one line of flavor text. Name is fine. (-1 pt.)
Polish (0.5/5 pts.)
Missing rarity, but we know what it's supposed to be. Gotta deduct still, though. (-1 pt.)
Missing PT. (-2 pt.)
Missing "each" in X abilty (-0.5 pt.)
of -> or (-0.5 pt.)
1 missing punctuation (-0.25 pt.)
Capital X (-0.25 pt.)
Total: 12.5/25 pts.
The Cane of Rimewind
Design (9/10 pts.)
Creativity: This is pretty cool actually. I don't think anything like it has been done.
Aesthetics: Oozes with icy, Rimewind-y flavor. Well done.
Potential: I see Johnny really liking this, and Timmy building some kind of griefer deck with it. Spike says he'd play it if it cost two mana. (-1 pt.)
Development (8.5/10 pts.)
Balance: 3 and 2 is fine, though 2 and 2 wouldn't break anything.
Viability: Seems fine.
Creative Writing: With a title like that, the equipment itself should be legendary. (-1.5 pt.)
Polish (2.5/5 pts.)
Unnecessary "the" in second ability. (-0.5 pt.)
Missing "during its controller's untap step" in second ability (-1 pt.)
Missing rarity, but we know what it's supposed to be. Gotta deduct still, though. (-1 pt.)
Total: 20/25 pts.
Round Score: 32.5/50 pts. -> 16.25/25 pts.
---
Skizthek, Phyrexian Outcast
Design (8/10 pts.)
Creativity: A WUBRG Phyrexian creature was never done. Otherwise, it's a natural extension of a mechanic. In this case, it's probably a bad idea (see Balance.) (-1 pt.)
Aesthetics: Simple yet powerful.
Potential: Spike is in love with this, and Johnny loves doing endless broken things with it. Timmy is in the corner because he hates paying life. (-1 pt.)
Development (6/10 pts.)
Balance: I know it's 10 life, but in a 40-point format, this is a bit much. Only substituting life for the first spell each turn is a nice check, but I still feel this can get a bit out of hand--especially with any sort of repeatable life gain. (-3 pt.)
Viability: This should be an artfiact creature. Phyrexian mana creatures were always artifact creatures. (-1 pt.)
Creative Writing: No problems.
Polish (3.25/5 pts.)
Missing open parenthesis in reminder text. (-0.25 pt.)
"Whenever" should be "As" (-0.5 pt.)
The second clause in the ability can be worded much better. There are a number of ways to do it. The first one I thought of was "for each colored mana symbol in that spell's mana cost, you may pay 2 life instead." Alternatively, you could just directly turn the mana symbols into {p} mana symbols (Rage Extractor sets precedent.) (-1 pt.)
Total: 17.25/25 pts.
Commander's Sword
Design (8.5/10 pts.)
Creativity: Swords that give a mess of abilities have been done, and this type of boost has been done on Blessing of the Nephilim. (-1.5 pt.)
Aesthetics: Definitely makes a commander fearsome.
Potential: All psychographics like this one.
Development (5/10 pts.)
Balance: That is a LOT of evasion. Whispersilk Cloak is 3 and 2. Adding haste and lifelink says this is undercosted. Adding p/t that scales with colors says this is grossly undercosted. 4 and 4 seems more reasonable. (-2 pt.)
Viability: Why does a sword give a creature flying? (-1 pt.)
Creative Writing: Generic flavor. No flavor text. (-2 pt.)
Polish (4.5/5 pts.)
"Can only be attached to a commander." (-0.5 pt.)
Total: 18/25 pts.
Round Score: 35.25/50 pts. -> 17.5/25 pts.

Wave of Reckoning reprint is cute.
Om, the Mystic
Design (8/10 pts.)
Creativity: Very build-around me. The only thing that comes even close is Mannichi, the Fevered Dream. (-0.5 pt.)
Aesthetics: Simple and it works.
Potential: Johnny drools at the potential to machinegun creatures with cards he would never play otherwise. (-1.5 pt.)
Development (9/10 pts.)
Balance: No issues here, though I think this could be a bit more aggressively costed if you want.
Viability: PT-switching is typically UR. I don't think G needs to be in that activated ability's cost. (-1 pt.)
Creative Writing: Flavor text makes sense, especially considering what happens when you do that to a creature with zero power. Kudos.
Polish (4.25/5 pts.)
Missing apostrophe. (-0.25 pt.)
"Switch" is used, not "swap". (-0.5 pt.)
Total: 21.25/25 pts.
Shield of the Eroke
Design (8.5/10 pts.)
Creativity: We haven't seen these abilities on one Equipment before. I like.
Aesthetics: The only thing confusing is granting shroud until your next upkeep. Other than that, fine. (-0.5 pt.)
Potential: Timmy loves untouchable guys, and Johnny loves untouchable guys. Spike shakes his fist at the mana cost. (-1 pt.)
Development (10/10 pts.)
Balance: GWU and 2 is the perfect cost. Love the vigilance--that's what sells the card.
Viability: Feels Bant to m.
Creative Writing: Gives you an idea of Eroke's scale. I like the mythos you're building here.
Polish (3.25/5 pts.)

Zarthias, Incarnation of Death
Design (8/10 pts.)
Creativity: Reminds me of Tariel, Reckoner of Souls quite a bit. (-1 pt.)
Aesthetics: No issues here.
Potential: Timmy likes giant flying things. Repeatable is cool, too. (-1 pt.)
Development (7.5/10 pts.)
Balance: Seems okay to me, though I think this could be 6/6.
Viability: It'd feel a bit better in BR, but there's precedent for it being in mono-black. (-0.5 pt.)
Creative Writing: You have room for flavor text. (-2 pt.)
Design (9/10 pts.)
Creativity: Nothing like this has ever been done.
Aesthetics: A bit wordy for essentially no reason. (-1 pt.)
Potential: Spike loves non-mana equip costs, and that it's not a combat damage trigger. Kinda turns it inth Thraximundar. Better be good for a 5-cost Equipment. Timmy doesn't like the life cost, but likes that it can make a REALLY big demon.
Development (10/10 pts.)
Balance: 7 life is steep, but once you get going, it pays for itself. I think you got the power just right.
Viability: Without a doubt black.
Creative Writing: A soul-draining scythe. Though it's wordy, it oozes with flavor. Great job.
I dig the Venser reprint, as much sense as it makes.
