I recently opened a pretty heavily crimped foil Chalice of the Void from a modern masters box. Was wondering what you experts see the value of this as? I know modern playable foils tend to do pretty well, I'm not sure how the crimping affects it.
I've attached a photograph of the card below.
Thanks all!! Appreciate your input!!
Hey, that's pretty cool!
I think that you have a winner here. Severe misprint + foil + highly playable card = $$$
I wouldn't want to put a price on this, but I imagine that you should be able to do quite well.

It's really hard to say. You'd have to find someone willing to give you a premium on it. MM foils are under $20 for chalice of the voids, I'd say start at $50-60, but if you get two people in a bidding war over it, you could see quite a high number.

You're suggesting ebay I assume? Is there somewhere on this forum to offer it?

Although its playable, this one is not in sanctioned formats.. You have a smaller market of buyers. You could list it on ebay at an inflated high price and slowly work your way down it its not moving.

Not sure what you mean here - most crimps are sleeve playable.
If you're looking to unload it, I'd definitely eBay it with a pretty high reserve. I agree that $50 is pretty reasonable, but I could definitely see you getting more for it.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.

eBay lets you reach a much broader audience. Broader audience = better chance of finding someone who can afford what you're peddling, and if you get multiple people interested, it's the easiest way for them to have a bidding war.
If you'd rather not, that's cool. Most misprint collectors should probably be reading this thread but you can post it on the main Market Street forum or on your own personal trade thread.

Sounds good Knick. I'll see if there's any interest here (I'd be looking for other modern playables) and if not, I'll send it to ebay.
I am the only one selling and I haven't received any offers for a price that would be break even to what I paid a while back as an investment. Is that just because they're niche demand or did these drop?

I'm fairly certain it doesn't see any real competitive play outside of a fae deck or two in modern.
With cards as obscure as russian foil sower of temptation the price is whatever someone is willing to pay. I personally have no idea what russian foil sower's should fetch. Magiccardmarket has some russian nonfoils but that doesn't help. English foils are 25 on SCG. You're going to have to be patient in moving it as 99.9% of magic players aren't interested in a foil russian sower of temptation.

I can hardly even tell that is off center. If I'm missing something else, I apologize, but that looks like an everyday Cranial Plating.

It looks like the right border is thicker than the left border, but not too much - maybe 60/40, or at most 75/25. It's not too serious. If I found it in a pile, I'd flag it as a misprint, but not cool enough to go in my misprint binder.
So I think that the answer is "No, it's not going to significantly raise the price".

If it doesn't show another card, it typically doesn't matter. Very misaligned cards (basically no black on one side) can be worth more if it's a very playable card.
I just got this temple of deceit from a theros booster.
It's obviously misaligned, but what the picture doesn't show (phone camera...) is the heavy nudge in the printing. The text is much bolder the art is very blurry compared to a regular card.
I wish my 4/4s with haste and first strike that acted as Goblin Warchiefs were better and didn't die to instants and overshadowed all other 4 drops in the format. And that they had evasion too, and some way to dodge wrath effects.
I'm about to pick up my set of ports and finish my set of wastelands for Lands and one of the ports is spanish, I can't find them on any of the price sites that I use (I'd like to check before dropping the annoying amount of money that ports have spiked up to). I'm wondering what the price of them relative to regular english ones is. Thanks guys!
Spanish isn't really a desired pimp language like Russian, German or Korean so I doubt it's worth any more than a regular English Port. I don't have any empirical data to back my claim up though.
The same as english in all likelihood unless you find someone who values it higher than english (quite unlikely.) Spanish isn't some sought after language like german or japanese in terms of what languages masques was printed in.

Can someone try to estimate a price on this one? Or at least give me a ballpark of what other modern cards I could expect to trade it for?
Thanks again.
