another creature based deck. I'm basing it on the expansion name.

You guys do realize WotC does more than just Magic right? This could and probably is in no way related to magic. Its more likely a D&D video game. Either way it is not a set for magic. The first and Third one pertain to video games.
Some of you may think that you have made great mistakes in your lives, and perhaps you have. But let me ask you this.... did you ever play strip poker with two fat chicks and win?

Except that this has happened before in the same way. The names of Theros, Innistrad, and Dark Ascension were all found out from trademarks, and since I've started coming to salvation, there has never been a trademark thread that wasn't for a magic product.
As has been said about the pattern of returning to a plane, then going to a new plane, a few data points does not a pattern make.
I doubt this is the next block, among other reasons as because I doubt they would use a name as similar as the game mentioned in TBBT in their own game. My guess is they have some kind of deal with TBBT and plan to sell this as the real life equivalent of that game.

Pretty much every name they could choose has a close resemblance to something.
For example, many people did not believe Theros was a Magic set name because it resembled some D&D character. Meanwhile, the PTO initially rejected the Theros trademark application on the grounds that Theros was a surname.
Uh, the past few years have ALL been combat matters formats....
I meant stuff that cared about whether or not your creatures are attacking or blocking. Spells that do something different or have an extra effect when cast during combat.
I really hate how much people are already believing this is going to be a set. While I agree its entirely possible, too many people are claiming it as fact and looking at the trademarks it seems more likely to be for D&D or a video game to me.

@pstmdrn You obv missed what I was saying. I said I agree its possible to be a magic block/set. My problem is people are talking like its a sure thing.

Maybe, but I was more after the part that said "seems more likely that it's D&D". Based on the past, it actually seems more likely that it's magic, but truly, there is not enough info to say either way.

You mean, it might just a be a rumor?!?! Someone please move this thread to the rumor mill...
Seems like a super odd name for an expansion. And with WotC alternating between returning to a plane then visiting a new one it seems suspect. I've heard rumors that next block is a return to zendikar (unconfirmed.)
This would make a certain amount of sense. They keep the fetches and shocks from coming together in Standard, but feed the shocks in to Modern. Pretty much what we saw them drifting towards when Modern was first announced.
The "revisit/new" thing isn't a pattern. It's happened twice in a row, but that's more coincidence than anything. Maro has said that it's not "the new thing" or whatever. I don't remember if he's confirmed or denied that the next block isn't a "return" or not, though. But I think RTZ would be too soon anyway.

The awkward thing now is that Blizzard's next WoW expansion is "Warlords of Draenor."
One of my most first thoughts after hearing about WOW: Warlords of Draenor was how it sounded like Warlords of Khanar, the mysterious Magic trademark.
And watching the trailer got me wishing Warlors of Khanar would be even remotely like that. I dunno, the crazy siege elements...and I'd love to see Orcs return to Magic. I'm sure they aren't related though, I'm just saying...it gave me ideas...
Yes, there is a possibility this is not the next fall set. But people are basing that on "because the name is weird". Really? No, the name is not weird.
Shards of Alara
Scars of Mirrodin
Champions of Kamigawa
... Warlords of Khanar
The name is perfectly acceptable. And considering the time this came out and the fact that Khanar is a plane and Sarkhan home, it is more likely than not that this IS the next fall set.

Yes definitely agree, my only thought is why Warlords of Khanar not just Khanar like Theroes is but I'm sure there will be a logical reason.
I maybe mistaken, but we haven't had one of these Trademark finds that turned out to be incorrect yet right?
