Art, as I have come to expect, is superlative. One thing confuses me though. Bronze Sable has the creature type satyr when the art and name appears to be a weasel. I mean a cursory google searching finds pictures of weasels. Am I missing something here?
Edit: Well pictures of weasels and some possibly NSFW stuff. You have been warned.
It looks kind of similar to Lumbering Satyr to be completely honest... Someone must have had a sense of humor that day.
There is a 5cc -4/-4 spell (lash of the whip) that I was sure had scry 1, but just doesn't have it. I guess making grasp of darkness splashable adds 3 to the cost...

My favorite flavor text: Time of Heroes
Feel free to tell me yours!
Format looks interested for limited. Not sure if speed and cantriping enchantments or durdling into monstrous creatures will rule. As far as constructed goes, the dip in power level is honestly refreshing. Can go back to more consistent deckbuilding that doesn't involve the Thragtusk, Bonfire, Olivia, etc. topdeck suite brought by M13 and Innistrad.
Is it certain that Nemesis of Mortals has no additional rules text after the cutoff? Not asking because I think it needs it, but there could possibly be additional lines below the reminder text for monstrous.
Are they referring to Standard? Modern? Legacy? What was the metagame when she was spoiled?
Copy-pasting random quotes doesn't prove anything.
Liliana of the Veil wasn't that hot in her first few months of Standard.
I assume they were mostly talking standard, as everything else in that thread was lamenting that caw blade was losing x and y.
The point is just that though, even if she wasn't hot in the first few months of standard she became a powerhouse in many decks. But all people did at first is whinge. My whole point was to not listen to that and wait and see how things develop.
Fate Foretold is going to see a lot of play. Draw 2 cards for 1U? Yeah that's a 4-of. I really like Breaching Hippocamp too, nasty nasty combo trick though I don't think it enables heroic.
Fate Foretold isn't all that good. It's Altar's Reap at sorcery speed in a color that wants to play few creatures generally, not a cheaper Divination. You're drawing two cards but have little control over when you get the second card, and you're giving up a card to get that second card.
There is a 5cc -4/-4 spell (lash of the whip) that I was sure had scry 1, but just doesn't have it. I guess making grasp of darkness splashable adds 3 to the cost...
Lash of the Whip made me really appreciate Dismember and Tragic Slip.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAND just like a ToS, no one is going to follow that **** (or even read it) unless the penalties are strictly enforced.
Hint: They're not.
He still signed a contract and gave his word. If you don't see the problem with people signing NDAs with Wizards to intentionally turn around and spill all their secrets, I don't know what to tell you. Wizards isn't going to respond with a "well we expected someone to spoil it, so congratulations for being the one to do so; you're awesome!" They're going to respond by never letting non-employees into betas again. Not to mention, the fact that the OP's actions were extraordinarily disrespectful to a company who gave him an inside peek relatively almost no one got to see should give you pause as well.
Tl;dr: NDAs do mean something; don't act like they don't.
1) It's absolutely silly to complain about cards being designed for limited. That's where you actually get to play Magic with all (well, most of the) cards! The true aberration is that cards are specifically designed for constructed, which wouldn't be necessary at all, if you people weren't willing and even demanding to buy wins at FNMs and kitchen tables by paying top dollars for overpowered high-rarity singles.
Why is it silly? Why is it an aberration that cards are specifically designed for constructed? If it wasn't necessary at all, why is WoTC doing it?
Magic, the game, would work perfectly well without rarity-driven power creep - some cards would always be a little better than others and make the foundation of a diverse and balanced constructed. It's just Magic, the product, which needs cards designed specifically to be on a clearly higher power level than the rest.
Unfortunately, Magic is primarily a product. So that Magical Christmas land you are envisioning will never happen.
You might want to ask yourselves if you really love playing Magic if you only care for environments where only a small fraction of existing cards are relevant... You miss out on most of the richness this game offers.
You might want to ask yourself if you are taking a biased and myopic view on a format.
People who don't like Limited or care about other formats can legitimately complain that their format of choice didn't get as much support....just like Limited players

And Wizards method of releasing spoilers to build hype/sales in an effort to prop up weak sets which shouldn't otherwise sell is extraordinarily disrespectful to customers. Releasing spoilers in the manner they do is nothing but a cash grab designed to make their customers make irrational purchasing decisions.

There are also cards that were deemed great but ended up not mattering much.
My whole point was to not listen to that and wait and see how things develop.
Then why go to a forum at all? The whole point of forums is to discuss. People are not going to wait weeks or months after a spoiler to discuss. That would just be silly.
Enough of the Pessimism.

I was hoping things would look up a bit with the full spoiler, but this truly is my least favorite large set in recent memory.
Not only is the power level for constructed embarrassingly low,
their stated themes (Enchantments Matter, Legendary Matters)
didn't show up anywhere near as much as I would have thought
It looks like it could be fun in Limited,
but that is far from the only measure of a Set's quality,
and this is just lackluster IMO.
If you love it, hooray! That's awesome!
But don't imply I have no right to find Theros disappointing.

You're completely missing the point. Wizards owns their own copyrights. They can release their spoilers in any way they want, whether right away, drawn out over time, or not at all. Many people like the drawn-out spoilers, as they allow for significant discussion of cards one-by-one as they get spoiled. You don't have to buy from Wizards; the fact that you do does not mean they are making you "irrational" or trying for a "cash grab" from you. Ultimately, you still make the purchasing decision yourself.
If you don't like the set, don't buy cards from it. But that does not give anyone the right to release copyrights *they don't own.* I hope there's serious crackdown on the OP from Wizards, though I also hope they do it in a way that doesn't seriously jeopardize his/her whole future (aka I don't want to see a million dollar fine).

Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to post this - though I had to stay up really late tonight to get all of the new cards up on SCG, it means I can get a lot more sleep Sunday right after midnight.

You can think whatever you want, but for me, the best card of the set is Leonin ... Snorecaster

MaRo has said time and time and TIME again that Theros is not "enchantment matters" and that it isn't supposed to be.
Theros is a Greek-influenced block, with an enchantment subtheme. The reason the set doesn't seem like an enchantment set is because it's not one.
