The soldier common is pretty cool, the creature enchantment is limited trash but I'd pick it pretty high in a slow format. Would be damn good in M14, that's for sure!
Can we get real spoilers yet please? Spoiler season is already starting a week late, I have no idea why they're leading it off with a bunch of commons.
Based on Cavern Lampad and the white prerelease thing, bestow is evidently this set's unplayable Timmy mechanic.
Too bad... my hopes were high.
The mechanic is a free-value mana sink. Just like Flashback, Scavenge, and Living Weapon. It's going to define limited play way more than constructed.
Also, how many flashback cards in Innistrad actually made it to standard? How is that any different? Not every card with a mechanic is slated for a spot on prime time.
Considering the mechanic is an aura + a creature afterward, I'm not sure how you could print a card that's not unplayable in constructed or pushed so hard it ends up being absurd.
You probably can't.
I'm not faulting them for throwing Timmy a bone.
I just think bestow seems really cool. I'm just a little disappointed that, if future bestow cards follow the model of the two already spoiled, it's just improbably costed for anything outside of casual or multiplayer play. I was hoping to get some mileage out of it.

Agreed.
It just doesn't fit my Limited deckbuilding style. I understand that there's a place for preposterously-costed value plays, but I'm a tempo junkie.
Well they're both commons, so they aren't very intresting.
I really hope that there's at least a few playable bestow cards.

If MTG is a part of your life, the formats are like relationships:
Standard/Block = The on-again, off-again holiday fling
Modern/Vintage/Legacy = Stable, homely. A ***** after absence/misreading
Limited/Sealed = Heart breaking free spirit
Commander/Cube = Agreeable, needy and expensive
Pauper/Peasant = Sweet, kind, practical, but shy and boring
They aren't making any real attempts to hype this set, are they?
At PAX east, they showed us Sigarda and Resto. Modern playable flying beatsticks.
PAX prime? Enjoy your limited trash! At least the 1/1 red dude that makes more 1/1 red dudes is kind of cool. I can play a dynacharge deck at casual FNM, wooo.
Well that's not very exciting. They could have well have spoiled the basic land arts. We know already of Bestow and Heroic so those commons are not breaking news. Is there more planned tonight?

You're missing where these cards confirm that the mechanics will make it down to common: Limited.
Also, the panel is tomorrow. You don't think they'll be showing flashy rares then?
For the folks brewing up lists already with Dynacharge, note that overloaded spells no longer target. An overloaded Dynacharge (or overloaded anything else) will not produce a hasty Crusaderlette.
Oh hai Madcap Skills. Oh what's that? OH YEAH 5 TO THE DOME ON TURN 2!

The white rare is probably playable. I mean, it's decent enough on its own without Bestow.

Older Magic as a Board Game: Panglacial Wurm , Mill
ALSO: "Crusader"? Seriously?
You probably can't.

Madcap Skills.
(Obviouslt not for draft haha)
As-is... I like it, but it certainly isn't amazing. 1/1s aren't enough to get me to run giant growth and auras.
It's only the second Red Crusader ever too Varchild's Crusader

RIP Batman guy. I hope somebody picks up the slack now that you are gone. Sick children need their Batman.
We have Madcap Skills which has already seen some play and the new one previewed by the duel deck. The latter is likely not good enough

but the crusader is fine and maybe can make its way to constructed...
The 1 mana red heroic guy is cool.

It's technically only one spell, but you're selecting 2 targets.
