Indeed. It seems like five Gods in the first set, and more in the next two sets. Also, from the description, it seems like Gods are Enchantment Creatures.
I hope that is either not a leonin or is ajani... I don't recall lion people in this mythos.
It's a Magic plane inspired by Classical Greek mythology, not actual Classical Greek mythology. Deviations from the source material are fine. They're not taking wholesale from real-world myths ala Arabian Nights, it has to be a distinctly Magic: The Gathering setting in the end.
Though I'm not sure how they'd get Leonin to fit into the setting, if that's what this is. Things like Angels are easy, but I don't get how lion-people fit into the bigger picture.

Dude, Greek mythology has every other friggin' kind of animal person - Leonin or Nacatl aren't a horrifically massive stretch. I would say Angels would indeed be stranger. I think R&D was trying to find a non-Human race to be small guys in white, couldn't find something appropriate in the source material, and said hell with it, let's use Cats as usual.

Indeed, that's almost certainly the case.
Angels aren't a stretch at all, really. We're talking about a race of exclusively female servants of the gods that look like humans with wings. All of those things already exist in Greek mythology, it's not a huge leap to put those qualities together on something that ties into the Magic multiverse at large.

I guess the Angels of Theros might be sort of like the Erinyes and do the whole avenging beings of justice thing.
Actually I think the 'Leonin' is a Minotaur---the ear ring, and perhaps hoovish feet? Edit: closer inspection yeah definitely not with that mouth. A cat-something.
And, yes, 0_0 at the art
Karametra---more gods out there, which makes me think that gorgeous playmat art of a Theros goddess pouring out a river was legit.

that's not what happened at all. kamahl stabbed phage, akroma, and some old lady and they became korona. then korona got stabbed by her "prophets" and kamahl got drunk with a mutant centaur

Also notice that the female with the galaxy in her has the God of B standing in the background of her art.
The guy praying in the first art is praying to the God of W.

The woman intrigues me.
I also really love that celestial gryphon art, and the person with the spectral lynx! And I thought the Innistrad art blew me away..
Edit: Also, is that a leonin getting killed in that one art?
