Still Zero reply of any sort from Crowb... What the **** is wrong with this dude? Just up and disappears?
Hey real life happens, I'd be a tad more respectful. He could just be busy, which is a fair enough excuse on its own, but how would you feel if he's absent due to serious matters regarding a friend or family member?
I don't mean to snap, but I had to leave for a few days without internet access to be with my grandma during her final hours just a couple weeks ago, and I only barely remembered/thought to post here on Salvation.

Yeah I could understand that, if it weren't for the fact that he was online multiple times with messages from me sitting in his inbox.

Martinmcfly and I scheduled to play tonight sometime. I suggested 6 EST, but he hasn't replied yet.
Just got your message and created a table and waiting w/ one or two specs. The match can start as soon as Mastodon gets back to his computer (i believe he his afk)
I can still play at 8 pm on the 24th, but I was wondering if we couldn't move it to earlier in the evening. Also, if Yarn makes the top 4, we may have to change it as well, seeing that he's an aussie.
Oh, Lantern, question. What REL do we want to run the top 4 at? I Was thinking it should be comp REL, as these are the most important matches of the year. Basically, it would mostly apply to missed triggers and such. Ie, attack with geist and move to damage without making a clear indication on the angel trigger would only net 2 damage rather than 6. Or a missed bob trigger goes to the opponent to decide if the trigger gets put on the stack and if it does, instead of undoing the draw, you flip the next card and that is what bob hits. You know?
To me it would feel more professional, because, as a registered and acting judge at an IRL tourney that's how the rules would be applied.

Nahadoth and I will be playing our match in 10 minutes.
EDIT: I won 2-0 after nahadoth's deck shat all over him.
Confirmed^
Guess thats what I get for using a friends computer... on the fly
mull to 5 both games.
but I did lose game 1 due to a misplay rather than bad luck.
good luck pyro, I hope you do well.

First of all, I'm pretty sure that's not how comp REL works. If either of the situations happened that you described I highly doubt that's how a judge, at least in my area, would handle it.
Nobody on cockatrice should be forced to create an angel token or type that they are swinging with the angel. One, it's obvious, and two, it's a mandatory trigger. There is no choice but to swing with the angel.
Bob's trigger is also mandatory and it makes no sense to have the opponent decide if it happens or not if the player forgets. Nor does it make sense to reverse the order of cards when retracing the steps (why count the first card as the draw and have the second card be the bob effect when you can just undo the draw and put it in the correct order? Both cards should be random unless there is a scry effect, which is rare for decks that play bob).
The current IQ set up is already competitive enough imo, if a player misses an optional trigger or makes a misplay and proceeds with another action, the opponent can refuse take-backs. I don't know what else is really necessary, especially since on cockatrice misclicks should be accounted for.
Mandatory triggers are mandatory, game play should be undone if it is reasonably possible to get back to where the trigger was missed. If it is not reasonably possible, gameplay should just continue. I highly doubt anyone would cheat and try to use this to their advantage, and I don't see reason to punish players for forgetfulness in a free online event that at it's core is simply meant to bring the community here closer together.

Current Competitive REL enforcement rules state that if you miss a beneficial mandatory trigger, its treated as though it were optional.
An example of this was during the last PTQ season, I saw a player attack with emrakul without declaring the Annihilator trigger. He moved to blockers and then to damage, and only then remembered. The judge informed him that it was competitive REL, so he had to settle for 15 damage instead

Ok, although the opinion in my post still stands. I don't see a reason to punish players for forgetfulness in a friendly free event designed to bring the community together. I also don't see a need to force players to declare angel attacks from geist and such.

Because its the highest level of these tournaments, the top 4 of the Final tournament at the end of the [tournament's] year.
If you got this far, it shouldn't be difficult to remember your triggers, but if you do, there should be repercussions at this stage of the event.
Hell, even when I'm playing casually or just testing, if my opponent swings with geist, they make an angel token anyways. It's better to get in the habit now when nothing major is on the line, than to go to a sanctioned Comp REL tournament and just assume your opponent is going to take 6 from your geist without you saying anything. Its as simple as saying "take 6". You've shown awareness of the trigger, and you're placing it on the stack. but if you miss it, or click blockers/damage without saying anything or making the angel, you should face some consequences at this point. Throughout the months I've seen misplays happen, missed bob triggers and whatnot, that have been gracefully undone and accepted by opponents. Now its top 4, there SHOULD be a higher standard of play and trigger awareness.

In the case of creating tokens i think it's better for organization. If a card says do something then do it. You never know what's relevant to your opponent.
but for something like a missed bob trigger the main purpose of judges is to restore the game to its intended state not punish players. Irl you can't undo draw so it's not possible but with hands visible and specs watching and the ability to undo that shouldn't be an issue like Tom said
Top 4 should just make sure to go extra slow to do everything correct. Im cool with it being a bit more competeive, but how much so should be left to the players.
