I want to try him in my Momir Vig build, but I suspect he's just too slow. He's got synergy with all of my bounce artifacts for repeat uses, he's straight-up creature removal, which the colors kinda lack (if you ignore all the instants that replace opponent's creatures with 3/3 tokens, natch), and Seedborn Muse/Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir/Deadeye Navigator make him better, but they make everything better. He's still a vanilla beater at the end of the day.
He might eat less removal than my other threats, so there's that.
Umm...I sure hope Ordeal of Purphoros is a great example of this block loving enchantments...
While not a great EDH card, it does quite a bit since you can sac it for the second effect.

Well, it's not that you can sac it, you're forced to sac it. It's an interesting card design, but I don't particularly like how it works. If the sac was an activated ability that dealt damage equal to the number of +1/+1 counters removed, I think it would be much better.
No, I mean that if your creature will die (thus losing the aura...which is why they are a second-class card type), you can still sac the aura to Claws of Gix to trigger Martyr's Bond. Or something.
Usually stuff isn't added to the spoiler unless there's like a private confirmation I would think, so my guess is it's legit, we're just waiting for visual evidence.
there is a visual confirmation (card is kinda blurry though)
kinda sad that they had to tag the artifact bit onto it to make it tap otherwise its a pretty cool enchantment

Flowstone Embrace and Witch's Mist as well. All three are Future Shifted cards though, so I am not sure they really count.
Even so, there's a precedent (though it'll happen in the future). Rumor has it that this will be an enchantment-heavy block too, which could fit the tapping-enchantments theme.
Since blue has artifact tutoring, I would think this card should replace Coastal Piracy almost entirely (except for pirate-themed decks), even if there are more options to destroy it.

I'm kinda let down that it's not an equipment. The named weapons all the gods use seemed like a perfect opportunity for legendary equipment. They don't really make sense as enchantments. It's weird.

Yep. In my on-again, off-again Sun Quan deck Coastal Piracy is gone for this thing. Cool card.

I agree. That stupid thing just sitting there.... yawn. I want my general to grab onto it and start swinging. Even if it gave your equipped creature NOTHING, it would make more sense than it does now.
I have mixed feelings about artifact enchantment. On one hand, artifact precludes the GW ones from being included in my enchantress deck if it has an activated ability with any kind of use for me. On the other hand, they're easy to blow up in just about any deck I've got.
The flavor is pretty **** though. I don't really get that at all. Also I definitely read the name as "Bidet of Thassa" at first, which would have been a whole different kind of artifact.

Do you know how BIG these guys are? Their weapons must be like 100 tonnes. No way a bird can hold that up. I kinda like it that way though, these gods are living embodiment of magical enchantments, so their weapons aren't exactly gonna be normal anyways.
Here's hoping the green one isn't lifegain or Hexproof...
It's the weapon of a god, the enchantment part is proof of it's divine nature.
Meh, it just feels forced and they're using the theme as an excuse to check the box. Maybe they'll be cooler once we see the whole set, but until then I'm using my god-given right to complain about a set based on one spoiled card.
Personally, I want Licids to make a return or upgrade. Maro said there's a new mechanic which is more or less a returning mechanic because its fixed. Using his Tumblr hints as clues, I'm guessing its Licids or Bushido.
You know, I think my issues is that enchantments and artifacts are the same thing, only one is a physical object and the other is ethereal etheriness. Combining the two seems weird. I get the flavor as a D&D player though.

WHAT. Look at all the ways we can tutor up this cycle! This card is fun because it's blue...that interacts a TON with combat.

I snooped around and didn't see where the Rumor guys confirmed it... but it's in the Spoiler so I guess it's real.
I can say that I will probably never run this card, but as far as "whoa, that's cool," it is a great card.
