I want to put this into my Damia deck but I am of course a little hesitant. Obviously this would be for Multiplayer. Anyone have good experience with this card? I know it could be dead sometimes but I figure a LOT of generals have Uin them. Discuss!
If an opponent's deck isn't mono-blue, then the # of islands will decrease, as more people will play a form of 2 or 3 color producing lands, which usually are not an "Island" type.
Can run into a person(opponent) playing Prismatic Omen, which will be really beneficial to the person playing Carpet of Flowers
If an opponent is playing Prismatic Omen (somewhat common in my area if a person is playing tri-colors, one being green), all their lands will also be "Islands." Choose that opponents for the target ability of Carpet of Flowers and add mana of each land that opponent controls.
Cabz's decision will factor in meta in his/her area of playing. I'd toss in CoF because I have a higher chance of running into an opponent playing Prismatic Omen or Mono-Blue.

This is a good point. I guess there's Island, the old dual lands (Tropical Island, Tundra, etc) and the shock lands (Breeding Pool, Watery Grave, etc.) I feel like they are all pretty prevalent in all games i've seen if an opponent is running U. I guess I should just test it and see how it turns out, but it seems like it would be a bomb for only one mana if I had a blue player across from me.
EDIT: My point is most dual and tri-color decks worth their salt will always try to have at least two of these dual-type lands out since they are the best of their type. So I guess is 2+ mana for one G, and a small risk(of no one playing blue) worth it?
I love carpet it's a compeitive card. It's like a colored sol ring that can tap for MASSIVE amounts of mana. Wether you play aginst blue decks with a fetchland base or moni U or even a budget 2 color even 1 island makes it playable 2 makes it better than sol ring more make it broken as hell ... With a compeitive Damia deck if no one running U but you your already looking pretty good and can use Damia to cycle it for G. I highly recomended this card in my meta I wish I saw it every game. Note you can play it pass to second main phase to use again. If its getting huge you can bounce it replay it and activate twice in a turn. Note if your opponeys have fetches and your aginst opponents also get islands don't drop carpet until after they over fetch U.
As a rule of thumb I never throw color-dependent hosers in the mainboard, even the really good ones like Choke, Acid Rain, Drought, and so forth.
I know there's a lot of blue in EDH, but even in my playgroup, which is heavy on Arcum/Azami/Sharuum/Teferi/Zur/Hermit Druid, I still find myself (less frequently, but still sometimes) against a bunch of nonblue decks like Ghave, Kaalia, Sigarda, Azami, and so forth.
When I do run color hosers, I run them in the sideboard and switch them in when I'm certain they'll play out to their full potential.
That said, to answer the OP's question, Carpet of Flowers is an outstanding card and a huge tempo advantage when it works, much like Choke and the rest.
Alright that's it. Flash of inspiration. Global warming themed deck. Turning lands into islands to represent rising sea levels. This sounds amazingly awful.

I think it's probably worth running even if it only generates one mana per main phase. Although I would be hesitant to run it in a deck that doesn't have some kind of filter so that if it's a dead card you have some alternative use for it (swapping it for another card with a filter effect or ditching it to pay the cost of another useful card).

Ha! I thought you were talking about prismatic lens. That was dumb of me.
