Hey, so I have a few questions about the mana base everyone seems to be using. It seems like most good jund decks are now running 2 wolf run, and 2 cavern of souls. Does this often cause you mana problems? Most of these same decks are running stuff like dreadbore, underworld connections (in the board), and Liliana OTV (in the board). Are people jamming 2 cavern mainly for the uncounterability when playing against UWR? Is this more of a meta choice, and maybe its more reasonable to drop it down to one cavern for typical tournies?

Most of the mainboard can be cast with 2 different dual lands with the exception of lifebane zombie (if you run them) or LotV. In a black hungry build (ie. mainboard LotV, Lifebane Zombie and/or Vampire Nighthawk) if might be correct to swap a Rootbound Crag or 2 with Drangonskull Summits.
I played with 2 Kessig Wolf Run, 1 Cavern of souls and 2 Vault of the Archangel with little mana problems although I've been told that I'm insanely greedy with that mana base.
How has everyone been coping with Burning Earth? I have been extremely lucky to dodge it in my local meta. I'm planning on going to the SCG Open in Cincinnati this weekend so I know I will likely not dodge the card this time. Is Jund capable of beating Burning Earth followed with some Thundermaws?
Nocturnal God of Chaos of The Æsir Probably the most random person you will ever meet. Trust me on this one. Well, I'm off to poop.
Oh, my username is the same on Xbox and Cockatrice, add me!

Appetite also hits Verdict AND Terminus, where Charm only beats Verdict. Charm, however hits Detention Sphere, Oblivion Ring, Volcanic Strength, and many others, some that Appetite hits as well - Curse of Death's Hold, Assemble the Legion, etc.
I usually play 3 Charms in SB.

I'm using Vraska. Way slower than Golgari Charm, yeah, but she's never a dead draw, and her ultimate is good against control, making her an efficient sideboard card.

So I've been playing this deck alot latley, one question I have is how do you guys defeat control (both azorious and UWR) Both of those seem to be my hardest match up's. Everything else seems pretty easy to defeat.
Against flash it is most definitely 50/50 game 1. But against the UW control I seem to have a good time against it for some reason. It might be the way I approach the matchup though. I just hope to land a threat like Ooze or Huntmaster early and just let them do the work and FORCE my opponent to wrath, then I will lay down another singular threat and pressure them this way. All the while I am holding mana open for the putrefy and doom blade for those suprise angels.
Eventually they will sputter out or you catch them with their pants down and hit a huge RR. Usually an RR for their entire hand can be GG unless they topdeck right out of it with a rip from the top Sphinx's Rev.
I for one, am going to miss this deck when it is gone. I took Jund to Cincinnati and cashed in with a (7-3) record at the end of the day. After my positive results of (6-4) in the Nashville open in April it felt good to actually see an improvement and cash in with the same deck some months later. I am hopefully going to the Atlanta open this weekend. Hoping to do even better. With Jund at my side I feel I can move mountains with the deck.
Cavern of Souls + Sire of Insanity is great versus U/W if you want to make a meta call. It is, however, a lot worse against UWR.
Yes, an EOT Turn//Burn on Sire with triggers on the stack is a gut wrenching loss. It is a great thing if it sticks though.
Also my weapon of choice against them is Ruric Thar. The guy is such a monster late game when their back is against the wall. I like getting them into a position where once I drop Thar, if they remove him they're dead anyways.
My Sideboard plan vs control looks like this and I have heard some control players complain that I am just lucky and draw all my sideboard cards but in truth I just have so many cards for control post board that it is favorable for me to draw plenty of hate.
+2 duress
+2 Appetite for brains
+1 Ruric Thar
+1 Vraska
+1 underworld connections
+1 Rakdos's Return
I used to have a couple other cards in there but when I went to Cincinnati last weekend I had to diversify my board slightly. Used to be 2 Thars in there and some Liliana's but I am not a huge fan of her in some of my games. It's love/hate with her.
Dropping a Garruk Primal Hunter is also usually solid against control. If he sticks around he will just run away with the game all by himself.
