Practice really does help when it comes to Draft. Playing whenever you can will naturally give you a feel for the set. Research can really help too, reading articles and listening to podcasts where people talk about the formats can give you a leg-up. There's also simply memorizing what cards are in the set(s) so you know what all the threats you could face are.
That's the thing. I know every card in each set. I watch Evin Erwin's set break down for each set religiously. I watch LoadingReadyRun's drafts to know what the potential combos are. I do my research, but my lack of deck building under pressure and my inability to read signals just kill me. I've never gotten past the first round of any single elim. Swiss I do a bit better, but I usually lose most of my matches. Granted, I can't look at the first time I play limited for a set, because 9 times out of ten, I own the very first tournament, but every other, I lose. Badly.
Lol, he couldn't even remember my name after I told him like 7 times. It was an amusing moment for me though, that's for sure.
I suppose that's understandable, but I dunno. I've never been screwed over too hard in draft, and even when my deck has been a trainwreck, there were still ways to win. Sealed I can understand though, some people just open the nuts and get carried to victory.
Sounds like typical drunk person behaviour lol.
I didn't mean passing as in drafting. I was referring to the pool swap required for all Comp REL sealed events. You rarely ever keep what you open, so you play with the pool that is passed to you by another player.
Drafting at Comp REL should be much better than anywhere else. Since the only times you'll do it at that REL are on day 2 of a limited GP or the top 8 of a PTQ or GPT*.

I'd recommend skipping Evan Erwin's set reviews and going with someone like LSV's. His are all text based, but I would assume he has a better idea of what he's talking about than Evan does. His also have enough puns to keep me satisfied (which maybe too much for the average human being).
As for people to watch on CFB, I'd recommend LSV, PV, and Ben Stark the highest. Other awesome streamers are Michael Jacobs, Cedric Phillips, Paul Cheon and AJ Sacher (my personal favourite). Here's a link to a website my friend maintains that tracks all the MTG streams on twitch TV that are currently on air. This page doesn't display every streamer like MagicCommons does, but it does include everyone I mentioned as well as several other popular ones.
Another way to get really good really fast is to play DI on MTGO, but that requires a lot of money to get going.
*You may still end up with some people who have no idea how to draft in a GPT top 8 since they're mostly run out of LGS's where the player quality isn't always what it would be on day 2 of a GP or the top 8 after a 7-9 round PTQ.
I absolutely detest sealed Comp REL events from a judging standpoint because they're a pain in the butt to run - you have to figure an extra full hour for deckbuilding and registration, and then an extra full hour for the Top 8 draft and accompanying registration.

Sounds awful. Hopefully I find the desire to play again by the time our local Theros limited PTQ rolls around.

I actually can't stand LSV or puns. He just annoys me. Also, I don't have the time to waste on text-based stuff.
I like Brad Nelson though and he mostly seems like he knows what he's doing.
I don't know what CFB is. The only real drafter I'd watch on streams is Kenji.
I can't get MTGO to work on my computer. What's DI?

Sad face.
LSV is like my hero. He's probably the only person who drafts mono-red in cube as much as I do and his sense of humour is impeccable. I had no idea that you hated puns whatsoever.
You would probably enjoy watching anything Travis Woo does. His videos are usually hilarious decks of his own design that win in completely over the top ways. Like dealing literally billions of damage. He also streams on twitch regularly. On Tuesdays (Twoosdays Brewsdays) he accepts challenges from viewers and battles them on MTGO live.

DI=Damn Infinite
I don't like many Pros to be honest. Not super interested in Channel Fireball either, but that's because I don't use it.
I think I've heard about Travis Woo... Eh.
What's Damn Infinite?
I super enjoy when someone doesn't explain stuff.
If I didn't get the initials, I probably am not going to understand the written out version. Lawl!
Shiro is so cute, it hurts. Also Chaox, the former professional LoL player, is in the same event as Kibler and is in chat
I was watching Chaox stream mtg the other day(I used to watch his LoL streams all the time), and watching him play mtg is painful. At least to me it is, he makes so many obvious mistakes and is overly cocky. Also, his drafting and deckbuilding skills are cringeworthy. It can be amusing at times, but most of the time I find myself wishing he'd play LoL instead.
When I played magic, the only pros I watched was the occasional Lsv draft vids. I tried watching some others, but Lsv provided the most content and was the most interesting.
Dunno about now though, seems like more and more people are getting into streaming and video making.
Edit: Also, Chaox has the most annoying laugh i've ever heard(also the best).
Haha, I don't know if you've seen K-On! but the character (Mio) is actually really nervous in this scene, which is why she's shaking. I've been drinking more coffee recently, so I switched this to match the witty coffee based pun I'll hopefully have as my ct once I think of it.

Yeah, I was kinda upset that he wasn't really adding anything to the stream aside from going on and on about his game with Dave Williams (which he lost). I was happy when I tuned back in and the music was back.
Dunno what to watch now that Kibler's done streaming, though.

I still love ya, Wolf
Their content is pretty solid. I'd at least give Twoo a chance at the least, he's hilarious if not the best person to watch to improve your gameplay.
Hint: The definition of DI is very close to that of Infinite.

I know right!
Yeah, I had no idea who that was until I read the chat lol.
I'm honestly not 100% sure. I think it might have something to do with this guy but I could be wrong.
Edit: Kinda wish I could see the Dave Williams Vs Chaox game right now.

Because I'm a smart aleck magic player who likes to use fancy words to make myself seem more intelligent than I actually am, why else?

Are you just guessing, or is that some moderator tool lol.
I've never seen anything like that on the backend of MTGD. It seems like a pretty useless tool.
