The most users ever online at a single time (as of this post) on MTGS Forums was...
13,237 users, 04-12-2012 at 10:27 PM.
Now, was this just a regular day for all of us, or did some significant spoiler or event pop up which prompted 13,000+ users to use the Forums at one time? What historical Magic event happened on this day, at that time?
Or did it? Was it just another day? If it was, then why haven't we broken that record this year yet? Did some other event (completely unrelated to the card game) lead to that moment? Is there also a way to know what the previous record was, and on what day that record happened? Are these points in Forum history dictated by any significant events?
I participate yearly in a survival challenge in which I am dropped off in the wilderness with 1 days rations, a knife, and no other supplies, and have to find my way home. This is typically several weeks hiking from civilization.
I have personally killed several bears in the course of this challenge, with the use of snares and other traps.
During spoiler season we sometimes get a pretty ridiculous amount of traffic. We broke records during every rumor season for a long time, but we haven't beaten that one yet.
But yes, that one was the peak of the Avacyn Restored rumor season.
For several years, the record was about 3,500 users, set during the Time Spiral rumor season. Then in like 2011, it exploded (IIRC).
Sing lustily and with good courage.
Be aware of singing as if you were half dead,
or half asleep:
but lift your voice with strength.
Be no more afraid of your voice now,
nor more ashamed of its being heard,
than when you sang the songs of Satan.
Wow, I never expected that. I would have thought Return To Ravnica, a throwback to one of the most popular blocks ever, would have been a great time to beat the record. Guess we'll just have to see when the next time that will be.

Maybe there should be a complation sticky to note when/why the record was broken, for reference?
This isn't a OMG record. There really is no value in caring when this record held. Actual could do more harm then good later when years roll by and the record isn't broken or even comes close.

I'm pretty sure it had nothing to do with flutes.

Sorry, I'm just curious.
How well do you do against one?

Except this was posted a day later.
I see the date/time posted as 04-12-2012, 10:05 PM, which would be 22 minutes before the peak time.

What do you see as the time the thread was posted and the peak users time?

I just don't think enough people care about that? I don't know.
