This card just doesn't seem good. On turn four doing 1 damage, even to both an opponent and one of their creatures, is just pitiful. Her 0 ability is worse than just drawing a single card and her ultimate seems like a worse lottery than Ral Zarak.
Super disappointed in this card and Wizards/Maro for hyping her up so much. Not sure why they refuse to let Red have a good planeswalker.
Nothing in this game is degenerate or completely dominant. They haven't banned anything in standard in a long, long time. Hell they should have banned affinity right away, but they didn't until boxed sales collapsed too. Hasbro had to come in and fire people.
I'll enjoy watching all the whiners eat crow monday.

Her +1 ability is more for pushing your guys in than doing 1 damage. She belongs in an aggressive deck, you shouldn't even be thinking about the 0 ability unless the board is stalled and you need to find an answer to unstall it.
If you ultimate, you should be able to win the game. Remember, you are aggressive so you should have gotten the opponent for at least 7 or 8 already, if you can triple-burn the opponent, that ought to just about do it.

Koth disagrees but really, red is not a color for mid-late game doom fortresses. At such a point, Red would usually chuck out two creatures with haste or toast a few of your opponent's effects dorks which makes planeswalkers undesirable in red designed decks.
About Chandra:
- I really wanted a 3 cmc red PW but she would be OP at 1RR, maybe RRR?
- LOL at people actually thinking the 0 ability was "without paying its mana cost". That would be a ridiculously broken card ability. *still shaking my head*
- The +1 is actually pretty good, the "can't block" is the key here. It is actually very good for a plus ability.
- It has been stated before but is worth repeating: do not play a land before activating the 0 ability. You can play that card at any time for the rest of the turn.
- This is the probably the best red PW ever but Koth is close. Still not exactly what I wanted but good regardless. I think it says something that she is being compared to JTMS and LotV as they are the two best planeswalkers EVER.
I'll take this as a chance to post my Red PW design that I have hoped for for 3 years:
1RR
+1: put a 1/1 red goblin creature token with haste onto the battlefield
-2: creatures you control become 3/1 with trample and haste, sacrifice these creatures at EOT
-5: Sacrifice any number of other permanents, ~ deals damage to target player equal to 2x the number of permanents sacrificed this way
Starting loyalty: 3
EDIT: though I don't usually care that much, the art is ugly
Her +1 ability is more for pushing your guys in than doing 1 damage. She belongs in an aggressive deck, you shouldn't even be thinking about the 0 ability unless the board is stalled and you need to find an answer to unstall it.

On turn four you could be casting Hellrider and swinging in hot. In the previous standard season you had Hero of Bladehold. Why would an aggressive red deck want to spend 4 mana to MAYBE get one decent strike in by making one dude unable to block?
Also if she was on board long enough for you to get her up to her ultimate you were probably winning the game regardless of her pitiful presence on the board.
Koth disagrees but really, red is not a color for mid-late game doom fortresses. At such a point, Red would usually chuck out two creatures with haste or toast a few of your opponent's effects dorks which makes planeswalkers undesirable in red designed decks.
Koth is pretty good but it was really only for mono-red decks and even then it's only his +1 and ultimate abilities that were relevant. Agree with your point overall about red planeswalkers.
Really they should just start out with low loyalty and have better effects.
People are consistently ramping out things like Thragtusk on turn four, for this mana I expect a lot more bang for my buck.
Nothing in this game is degenerate or completely dominant. They haven't banned anything in standard in a long, long time. Hell they should have banned affinity right away, but they didn't until boxed sales collapsed too. Hasbro had to come in and fire people.

She could also fit in RG. Get the big creatures out, play her, and get something in. The green probably provides defense on her relentless march towards -7.
1) Anyone who said this Chandra would be in a legacy mono red deck needs to revisit what red is.
2) Anyone who thinks this Chandra's second ability is "Draw a card" needs to read the card again.
3) This Chandra would only be seen in sealed, and not often in standard, zero times in modern/legacy/vintage, unless it's casual-between-friends games.
4) Her first ability is better than Firebrand, her second ability is worse than Firebrand's second ability. In a burn deck(RDW for standard) their second abilities result in:
exile a searing spear(or other searing spear variants), pay 2 mana to cast searing spear, 2 for 3 damage(Pyromaster)
cast a searing spear(or other searing spear variants), copy it with Firebrand, 2 mana for 6 damage(Firebrand)
The only advantage is if you ONLY have creatures in your deck, if you ran out of burn spells and your opponent is still standing, fix your deck.
RDW is about getting your opponent's life to zero asap, it is all fun and well to have a "drawing" ability, but if it is not doing what a red card is supposed to do in a RDW deck, it's not a good ability.
5) The only good thing about this Chandra is her first ability, and it is only good in sealed and standard. If you haven't won in 4th turn(Modern), 3rd turn(Legacy), 2rd/3rd turn(Vintage) Your mono red deck won't be competitive anyway, with or without this Chandra.
For 3 mana she would easily have seen legacy play, cause brainstorm and her 2nd ability is best friends.
Eh, not really. Brainstorm can't just be relied on to make a bad card good (see Thunderous Wrath). Also, there's no deck that would even want her. The best choices are RUG cascade or Jund, but Jund doesn't use brainstorm and RUG cascade uses Shardless Agent which sits at 3cc.
I'm sure that a lot of people care about those old, old formats, but most people don't play them. Hoping that the new red PW would be playable in those old formats is doomed for disappointment.
Extended may be a stretch, but I think she could be standard playable.
So this is the PW that features as the biggest card in M14?
What does she offer at 4cmc?
in a blitz only her +1 would be useful, but still, no because Firefist striker. The 0 is meaningless as you might get to cast (on next turn) one of your little creatures, or maybe a land?
In a spell-based deck the 0 and ultimate would be nice
Overall the issue red has with midgame isn't going anywhere with this card. Seriously I might prefer the Ogre Battledriver over her.
and now let's all wait for the next broken version of Jace, blue spoiled child

Hellrider pre-rotation and Ogre Battledriver post-rotation, both do a better job at pushing damage thru blockers than what MaRo hyped as a leading planeswalker.
It's completely understandable to be upset, and even if she does see standard play, that's terribly underwhelming considering red is the only color that hasn't been able to place a single planeswalker in Modern/Eternal.

Yes sir, I take fantasy art and character design commissions, PM me for rates.
Was it so hard to give her a pyroclasm effect for -2 with a CCM of :1mana::symr::symr: ?
Okay, this seriously bugs me: Why haven't we gotten a Pyroclasm effect on a Red walker? One of the common conditions for a good planeswalker is a card that defends itself. Pyroclasm is one of the best ways for a Red deck to defend itself. So why on Earth haven't we seen one yet?

The wedding is over. Now it's time for the honeymoon.
You've got 7 power on the board, and it's turn 4. You've got the opponent at 14 life. You play chandra, and +1, but don't kill their only creature. You get in for 7 more damage. Now the opponent can't attack back to try to kill her, and must play an extra creature just to live.
Your opponent attacks her anyway and wraths. Now you still have the advantage, because you're drawing 2 cards a turn.
Ok. Let's go back and see what hellrider would have done.
You cast hellrider and swing. 10 power of creatures + 4 direct damage almost kills the opponent. He trades his creature for hellrider and takes 11 damage. Now he needs to wipe the board or he just loses. Either way, he's dead to any topdeck burn spell.
Yeah, I think maybe Chandra could be better.

Some facts of magic:
-Terror is an emotion which, when experienced, results in death.
-The pox was a disease notorious for having killed one-third, rounded up, of Europe’s population. Smallpox, on the other hand, killed only a single person.
-A person riding a horse cannot be stopped by foot soldiers, large animals, walls, archers, or even catapults.

I think Ogre Battledriver has a major disadvantage here: It has no immediate effect on the board and it's a creature that's vulnerable to removal. Ogre Battledriver is not guaranteed value, and it won't help you much unless you still are drawing creatures that late into the game.
Chandra has an immediate effect by removing a blocker and pinging for 1. That gives her a major advantage over the Battledriver in an aggressive Red deck as soon as you play her. After that turn, both her first and second ability are less conditional than the Battledriver's, so you're less likely to be sucking air.
Is she still worse than Hellrider? Definitely, but Ogre Battledriver is no Hellrider.
You cant be serious, do you know how broken a planeswalker that can do pyroclasm and survive would be? Cards like JTMS and Liliana, are good because they protect themselves well and are relatively cheap.
But there are boards where if you play them they will bite the dust. Having pyroclasm will ensure that you can drop them almost whenever, cause even if they don't survive you will most likely 2 for 1 your opponent at the very least and if the survive the game just ended right there...
I am serious. Pyroclasm is a 2 mana sorcery. It's not that good. If R&D can't print a 2 mana sorcery's effect on a 4, 5, or 6 mana planeswalker, there is something seriously messed up.
Quick word on the artifact... they used the words "would deal damage to a permanent or player..." why not just "creature or player?"
What's going on here? Are they going to change the planeswalker damage rules so you can damage them directly? Speaking of which, does this thing make 1 damage into 5 if you redirect to a walker?

She can drop on turn 4 and ruin blocker math, and her 0 is basically card draw. Yes, it's technically worse than straight draw, but if you play and build with it in mind, it's still incredible.
All I want is something that works with being red. Like, Red can't do beefy support walkers right so they shouldn't have even tried to do that.
Super disappointed in this card and Wizards/Maro for hyping her up so much. Not sure why they refuse to let Red have a good planeswalker.
