It's funny, I actually really like the look of M14. Sure, the power level is fairly low, but it has a lot of cards that I could see myself building around- the warden to make my kangee deck a little easier. Hunt The Weak and Kalonian Hydra could both easily land a spot in my Vorel deck. Into The Wilds and Primeval Bounty seem fun. Even the white life-gain stuff!

From a design standpoint, I like the set. As an EDH player, I dislike it.
The game play trailer for GTA V is out. I'm actually excited for this game. Hopefully it gets my attention better than IV did.
A coworker was actually just running the trailer.
That game is, like, 12 games. It is as though they took all the money from their multiple spectacularly successful releases and spent all of it on this one.
I have been on an EDH building kick for a week now and I'm a bit miffed there isn't a W/ cleric legend to go with Shadowborn Apostle and a suite of demons. Else I could totally make a cult-flavored deck.

I think that is exactly what they did.
Just realized: most of the games I play are open-world.
I figured out the other day why I haven't been doing so well at drafting lately. I realize that when I draft I tend to draft control. Control is not very good in this current drafting set. Everytime I draft it, no matter what I have I almost always do terrible. I draft control because it's easy and because it reflects my edh playstyle. I tend to pick fancy cards and removal over bears and cheap things. For some reason I'm not very good at drafting aggro. Man I can't wait until next set.
EDIT: Nevermind, I realized that towards the end of the trailer they showed all three of them together. It looks really interesting, and I like it when they interweave stuff like that.
GTAV does look amazing. I haven't read up on it very much though; is it three campaigns interconnected or are they really as disconnected as they look in the trailer?
I hope it's like Pulp Fiction.
A bunch of things that look completely unrelated until you get to the end and realize that everything hinged on every other thing.

"[Screw] you and the green you ramped in on." - My EDH battle cry. If I had one. Which I don't.
From a design standpoint, I like the set. As an EDH player, I dislike it.
Eh. I don't really know that Core Sets are usually that good for EDH. It was really nice that they gave us new legends last time, but I guess we can't always be that lucky.
Ever since Young Pyromancer was spoiled, I've been happy with it. The amount of nostalgic reprints just make me like it even more.
Eh. I like the card, and it's a solid lock with Rule of Law (that I could potentially play around with Venser), but that's not reliable enough. You did remind me that I need to include it as a fetchable win with Enduring Ideal. Play Ideal, get the pieces, table is screwed and I can still copy Ideal every turn to win later.
Isn't that the point?
There was a Confusion in the Ranks joke in there somewhere.

I'm certainly going to have fun drafting it and trying to pick up a Resonator for Pristaxcontrombmodruu.
Pristaxcontrombmodruu!
he probably meant "s**TZ 11 as in '****z!!" "Da ****"
It can either be "totally utter crap" or "neat and cool set"
Edit: not as cool with dem stars. He was referring to the thread title, anyways.

Speaking of, have you thought about Possibility Storm in there for any reason at all?
Somebody just introduced me to the awesome that is Possibility Storm with Arcane Laboratory, Rule of Law, and especially Curse of Exhaustion.
I mean, Zedruu + Curse + Poss Storm is a lock that you can pass around the table without it hitting yourself.
Also, has anyone made a "Zed's dead, baby" joke to you yet?
Draft my Peasant Cube.

Curse can't be passed around like that.
No, and I am disappointed.

Look at that value.
