looking to play magic in the Albany, NY area? come on down to New York Sports @ Yankee Dugout. We do events almost every night of the week including our Sunday night standard. Check us out for a fun place to play.
Yep. I'll be watching all day long, as I work 9-9, but have computer access.
I'm glad Gerry won, just because that 1st game can be frustrating for anybody in his situation.

Were the announcers under the assumption that Blood Baron gained the +6/+6 and flying even though Randy wasn't sub 10 life? Sure seemed that way or maybe I'm missing something.
I think that sucks for the game how someone can just act like a card wasn't played in hopes of a missed trigger, it's like flopping in the NBA. Seen that happen when watching PT Gatecrash where someone played Supreme Verdict and Ben Stark just leaves his creatures on board though fully acknowledging the spell resolved, then tells the judge immediately that the trigger was missed when the turn was passed. All it looks like is players gaming the system. Anyways, glad Vampire Control won =)

I'd like to see this. There is no trigger to miss on Supreme Verdict.
The vampire player was pretty bad. Missed Sire trigger and I believe he had a Lingering Souls in his graveyard that entire game that he forgot about.

I'll comb through the PT GTC vids to find it for you.
edit: oops, actually it was Ben Stark playing Supreme Verdict then leaves his Augur of Bolas in play. Turn passes then tells the judge it was a missed trigger =/ The judge caught it though but I think it's sad how players try to pull stunts like that

I agree that these kind of things are bad for the game. But at the same time, players need to be very wary of their opponents at all times. If something good can come from this, it's that people will be more careful and watch their opponents.

Isn't the play on turn 3...don't attack with Wolf token with the Huntmaster on board opposite the lone Sin Collector...let Huntmaster flip, kill Sin collector, deal Adam damage, and then just keep the pressure (?).
Nothing gets me more than watching people misplay Huntmaster. So much flavor, so little appreciation. Aside from that, looks like a lot of good players at this Open.

Tenjum vs Shrout ... I think Tenjum misplayed by fighting his Reckoner vs. Prime Speaker. I think the correct play would've been to direct his 1-damage Reckoner triggers from combat to Shrout's Voice and then fight the Elemental token. This would basically force Shrout to get rid of his own token with the Resto he was so clearly representing, and he wouldn't get any extra cards from another Zegana trigger. It might not have been enough to win that game, but I think it would've been a lot closer.

Playing mutilate in anything other than Bx seems terrible.
Agree. Playing Mutilate with 8 swamps is just asking to be screwed over
Cash? Credit? Gold? or Jace?

Isn't Augur of Bolas indestructible too?

It's not a permanent in the graveyard. It has to be in play for the abilities to work.
Ahh thanks. Glad he won, I hate 5 color decks
