I am selling the Underground Sea to recoup my costs. (Plus some) However, I have nagging person in my ear telling me to sell them all and put it towards a new computer.
What are the thoughts of the EDH community.
I am putting this in the EDH forum because I strictly play EDH. I have no plans to play any Legacy. (Ever)

It's a card game. When ure talking $ amounts that could be put towards lifestyle things like a new computer, a mountain bike, a new pair of skis, a downpayment on a house, i think i'll go for one of those instead of making my turn 4 win, into a turn 3.

Except in five-color decks and extremely competitive groups, old duals don't make that much difference. Might as well sell if you need the cash. I certainly would, but Underground Sea alone probably matches or exceeds all my decks in value. If I had $150 to burn on EDH, I'd buy old cards like Reset with interesting effects rather than a single land.
P.S. I remember when old duals were $20 and I thought that was expensive. I wish I'd stocked up back when I had the chance and that I'd never sold any of my cards.
Underground Sea is probably the most useful dual since it's in Magic two best colors. I think you should keep this one and maybe sell Badlands. Red is so bad in multiplayer.

I just got an english reset (for Melek) off of eBay last week for $10, shipped. They're around $12-15 now. You can probably afford this.
Sell them and buy a set of shocks. You'd never need both full sets, even in 5 color. Use the money to buy your girlfriend/wife something. Or use it to take up a second hobby where you are more likely to meet women.
tl;tr: women > magic.

If combo should die before I wake I'll slide a Smokestack in every deck I play, roll in every shop wreck the Spirit of EDH.

Yeah, I'll probably pick one up eventually. I'm just saying I'd rather have old cards that do cool things as opposed to lands that tap for mana a little better than other lands. I say save old duals for folks who compete in Legacy tournaments. (Legacy looks like a pretty awesome format at the moment, by the way. Omniscience/Enter the Infinite is a serious deck!)
As a side note to everyone, remember that we're not all necessarily men or straight here.

If you hold on to them, they will only go up in value. Revised duals are doing better than the stock market right now. I'd only sell them if I absolutely needed the money right now.

I taught my gf magic. You CAN have the best of both worlds. I go shoe and dress shopping with her and she returns the favor by going to the card shop with me.
If you look for legitimately competitive tournament play, like French 1v1 EDH, then I'd say keep the one you know you'll need; shocks aren't good enough if you have aspirations.
Otherwise, they probably aren't worth the price tag for casual if life has its own needs.
Totally depends on how much you make and how badly you need money. Personally I have too much money, so I blew $450 last night to put together Lazav from scratch. But 5 years ago, I would have said "sell 'em" for sure.
If you want an investment card, though, hard to do better than duals. They never go down, they're always going to be useful, and you can slot them into any deck. Personally I think they're at least as useful in 2-color as 5-color because you can hit it off all 7 runnable fetches, along with your shock. (This assumes, of course, that you can also afford all 7 runnable fetches) It's not going to take your deck from zero to hero (in no time flat! just like that!) but added reliability in your mana base (especially with fetches) really makes games more fun to play. in my opinion.
Personally, I'd at least keep 1, for whichever color combo you prefer to play, unless you need money for an urgent organ transplant or something. It's a card you'll always be able to run, and you're not losing money by holding onto it, should you decide to sell later.
I would sell or trade one or two of the the non-blue ones for an absolute butt-ton of super-good staples - Tutors, an EDH playset of shocks, Sol Rings, Mana Crypt, Forcefield, etc.
But DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST if you go to trade them. Your best bet is one of those guys with a lot of the things like I mentioned - but not someone who is a straight-up dealer.

First off holy cow dude. Wish I could do that. Lol
Anway Thank you all for the advise. It seems like the consensus is to sell. I have all the shocks, for the most part all my decks have some pretty tasty stuff in them. Old duals are really just flavor. Again thank you all my wife will be pleased :).

I would only sell them if that other thing would make you happier. I have 9/10 of the Revised duals now and I use them. I could sell them for $X but with that $X I would likely just spend it on groceries and gas.

I have those already. Magic is literally the only thing in my life that isn't considered an "essential" and I am not one of those people that likes to buy stuff.

That nagging person is SATAN, resist!
But seriously, unless I was in a really tight spot and was going to miss a mortgage payment, or could not pay the electric bill, I would not sell them. A computer will be fun for a while, but you will never be able to get the same amount of money out of it.
Edit: Wait, are you planning on getting the mentioned computer so that you can play MTGO?

The EDH stax primer When you absolutely, positively got to kill every permanent in the room, accept no substitutes.
And getting a fluid filled arm now means that I can't get any more until I can convince my wife that I won't be a sac of lymph fluid after the next one.
You can trade for dual lands if you have spare cards. I actually traded for 4/5(Maybe more) dual lands myself off junk/"money" cards to shops. It's possible to not spend $150 on an Underground Sea.
I got mine for $55 a long time ago.
If you don't NEED the computer, don't sell. A computer, any computer, will loose 60% of it's market value in 3 months, Underground Sea will keep on getting more valuable.
Also, never give up your hobbies for anything, I traded 6 years of my life for a "stable job" that gave me a **** ton of money and no time to spend it, now I can barely buy stuff after bills but I am healthier and happier than during those six years. Money is not made to make you happy unless you're a bank owner, and selling stuff you treasure will not make you happy.

Yes sir, I take fantasy art and character design commissions, PM me for rates.
I guess I can see that reading if I squint, but no. Twas just a bit of Magic-themed wish-fulfillment fantasy. On that note, using the cumulative-upkeep model, run Eon Hub and hope they don't have removal.
