It's been the hottest summer on record here (as far as avg. high temp. goes) and you can really feel it. Temperatures easily between 105-110. Driving anywhere is extremely uncomfortable. Sunshades only help a little bit and every surface in you car is going to be hot to the touch.
I burned my hands on the steering wheel and then the metal of the seat belt. Then I reached for my sunglasses(I keep them in the car) and they burned my face when I put them on. It was a little ridiculous.
No, seriously, where do you live? Those temps are normal for Arizona or Texas. Now if you told me you lived in Ohio I would be more impressed (and worried).
I hate it. I hate sitting in ball soup all the time (sorry for the visual image guys, but its the truth...)
I much prefer the winter. I am very much a grim, frostbitten soul.

My sig is not trolling. And it's not opinion, it's fact.
And I'm not changing it. I'm not gonna be browbeated by a moderator, simply because you don't like the fact that I'm bringing to light that the staff suspends half-decent posters, while allowing trolls to run rampant.
Well, you've still got about fourteen hours before you're infracted for noncompliance. Talk to whomever you want.
Considering the nickname June got this summer *ahem* Junuary, it hasn't been extremely hot nor has it been a record. It's been rather nice compared to a summer or two ago when it was way too hot for me. I still didn't like the Junuary part of June though, did not feel like summer in the slightest.
OP must be in Texas because, yeah, this month (August) has been nothing but triple digit temps.
However, in a normal Texas summer, there's numerous triple digit temps before August gets here and, while there have been a few, there have not been nearly as many of them as usual, so the summer's been a BIT milder than the norm.
Now, if he's in Arizona, I have no idea what their weather's been like lately, but I'm pretty sure we've been beating them on the temp front.
Guess he could also be in Las Vegas. They get pretty hot there, too.
I totally understand. Nothing but high 90's here in Georgia. The pools aren't even cool anymore (by the sun alone, they can get as hot as 85-90), so they're not refreshing to get in! There's no place to go except an indoor air-conditioned place, which is where I've been as long as I can be most of the time.
Oregon and the rest of the Pacific NW has been pretty normal for the most part. After the freak rainstorms during the beginning of June it's been business as usual. It gets up in the 90s or so, but that honestly was nothing when we had such a disgusting heat wave last year with 105+ days.
I live in Central Florida and it is disgustingly hot. I walk outside for about 1 to 2 minutes and my shirt gets damp from sweat because of the heat. Doesn't help that I work flow (stocking) at Target and when we have to go into the garden center... -shudders-

I've been working in the basement of a church some days. Lifting boxes and loading/unloading pallets of food and supplies up and down a flight of stairs. Outside it is very warm and muggy, inside it is slightly cooler but VERY damp and humid. Just five minutes into the shift, I am soaked and my eyes are burning with sweat. My clothes cling to my back and legs, making it harder and harder to bend at the knee, so I'm stooping more.
I wish I could show up for work in just a pair of Bermuda shorts and a tank top. It is the great tragedy of the Dress Code that tips the Southern worker's life from tolerable to squalid. Dark polo, dark slacks, closed-toe dark shoes - gets hotter than the middle hinge of hell in the sun, traps moisture against your flesh, etc.
I work in an air conditioned office so when i leave at five i have to drive home shirtless to avoid heatstroke.
Ugh I know, living on the East coast we had a freaky winter and the summer is just gross. not having central air SUCKS, I plan on buying it at th ebeginning of next summer.

Here in Kansas it has been hot the past month or so. It's hot most every summer. June was very rainy, but once July hit it was normal summer like weather. I yearn for Autumn. I LOATHE SUMMER!!! Almost over.

I can attest to the terribad temperatures here in Kansas. The average in my neck of the woods is 106 without the heat index. With, it gets to be 110+. There have been a few days where thunderstorms will drop us into the 90's, but for the past month and a half, it's been nothing but extreme heat advisory.
Speaking of which, we have a heat warning until 7 PM tomorrow. Huzzah.

well, north houston area (the woodlands) isn't that lucky, the water has almost no effect (at least to the temp reading at my house or in my cars) and the humidity is a constant 416%. Sucks about your a/c though, I prefer the windows down when I drive, but there have been a few days I just have to run the a/c.
I've been digging the weather being in the 90's with intense sunshine and high humidity. So much of the US (and Canada) is ridiculously arid, and I will enjoy my winter in the 60's. In the end, Michigan (where I lived before) is only ten degrees cooler with similar humidity in the summer and 50-60 degrees colder in the winter. I think I got a good deal.
Northeast Houston does get a funky smell on really hot days with no breeze though, good thing I'm by NASA.
In southern Virginia, where I lived until about 2 weeks ago, it was a lot hotter than normal, with a lot of triple digit temperatures, and high 90s. There were even a few heat advisories where they said it was unsafe to be outside. I actually like the heat (although 106 is admittedly too much for even me), so I didn't mind, and now I live in the Fort Lauderdale area of South Florida, where hot, sunny weather is common. In fact I have a near obsessive hatred of winter, something that goes beyond even seasonal affective disorder, which is why I moved to a tropical climate where I am very happy. I'm very much a tropical weather person, which is ironic because I grew up in Vermont. I hated Vermont, though, which may have something to do with it.
The humidity is actually what makes it seem so bad down here, ironically the temperatures are sometimes cooler than up north, it's just the humidity makes it feel 20 degrees hotter than it actually is.
I'm used to taking long walks in high 90s weather in Virginia, but taking a long walk down here in South Florida takes a lot more out of me. I am getting used to the humidity, however. I had to wait in line outside the DMV for 7 hours (no ☺☺☺☺, really, I got there at 8am and finally got my license at 3pm, that's how it works here unless you make an appointment a month in advance) today to get my Florida driver's license, and I was somewhat sweaty, but nowhere near completely drenched like I expected.
Just out of curiosity, is there anyone else out there besides me who likes hot weather? (Extreme temperatures like 105+ degrees excluded) Or am I just weird?

We had a bunch of 95-100 degree days in July. In August it's been mostly 80's, some low 90's.
I have to go every morning 7:30-11:00 outside to march for marching band camp. I'm soaked in sweat by the end.
