Cyan slams tordeck up against a nearby pillar. With a look that is a cross of both predator and prey, he leans in until his face is only inches away from tordeck's. "Why are you being so cagey, Tordeck? WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO HIDE FROM ME?"
From out of nowhere, the man in rags scuttles out and bows to guardman.
"Master, if this one may be so bold...this one thinks that your cat memes are neither funny nor relevant. Please be original. What goes on it kitteh trek should stay in kitteh trek."
The man flinches, as if expecting to be slapped for his impertinent attitude, and then, when he sees nobody has reared their hand back to strike, slips quietly away, bowing all the while.

Cyan lets go of Tordeck's coat and begins to walk away, mumbling to himself. But he takes only a few steps before a dark look of resolution crosses his face. He turns and heads toward tordeck, now walking away, in a dead run and tackles him to the ground. "Only someone that is a part of the conspiracy would answer me in such a fashion, tordeck. I won't let you trick me again. You are a bad man, aren't you? ADMIT IT!"
Cyan stands up and brushes himself off, and looks around plaintively for anyone that is paying attention. "This man is a bad man. He is part of the conspiracy. I know he is. Kill him." Vote tordeck
So guys, been turning it over in my head, and I think we should do a mass softclaim of whether or not we're a Neutral so that we can weigh how, when, or even if, we should use the shutdown mechanic.

I thought we were talking about tampons and sticks, not condoms.
"Well actually I was talking about cats. Though as seeing as this is pretty much exactly like the tampon incident I can see how you could be confused." Guardman said. "By the way no one has yet to answer my question about driving stick. I mean I already have the shovels, but I can't drive this thing to save my life."
So guys, been turning it over in my head, and I think we should do a mass softclaim of whether or not we're a Neutral so that we can weigh how, when, or even if, we should use the shutdown mechanic.

"First the tampon incident and now neutrals. Next thing you know you are going to want the Iron Giant for 24 hours straight again." Guardman rubs his temples. "I am getting too old for this crap, and I am only 24, so I am going have to say no to the mass claim."

How about instead, we all discuss why EP is the future of this place?
Using Shutdown right now is not the best choice in my eyes, as it ends the game and I'd bank no one has reached their win con by this early point in the game.
Shutdown seems like a good way for the town to get a win late game. Also, the presence of something like this shutdown mechanic may imply a very juicy amount of characters with weird powers that will probably shape the future of the Ozone.
On the massclaim...... Iso, are you on a boat right now, because it appears your fishing.
At any time during the day, a player may post Vote: Shutdown. A player who has so moved may remove that vote by posting Unvote. Votes to shutdown will be tracked by the mods alongside other votes, and a vote to shutdown is taken from your normal vote pool. Players may only make one vote from their vote pool to shutdown. If a majority of the players in the game vote to shutdown during a day, the game immediately ends.
When the game ends, all living players who have completed their win conditions win. Note that if the game ends by Shutdown, barring strange circumstances, the town, mafia, and SK will likely all lose.
So guys, been turning it over in my head, and I think we should do a mass softclaim of whether or not we're a Neutral so that we can weigh how, when, or even if, we should use the shutdown mechanic.
Obviously everyone who IS a Neutral will be shooting for their own win condition - but they also have to survive or Shutdown for that to be successful. If we determine who is and is not Neutral, we also have a significantly smaller pool of people to look for scum in - assuming, also, that they don't blatantly lie about it. But that would give the benefit of locking them into Neutral claims, which would require them to behave erratically, which will be beneficial to us as it will also help us catch scum. In addition, if it comes down to Neutrals vs. the mafia, then they would know to use the Shutdown. IMO, I'd rather lose to a group of Neutrals than a scumteam, if my win condition has already been made unreachable.
I can't see any downside to a claim of whether or not people are a Neutral.
So please, provide reasons why instead of just saying "nope".

Cyan speaks. "That one", he says as he points at Iso, "is probably not a bad guy." "But THAT one", he emphasizes as he rounds on tordeck, "likely is. We must kill him."
"That having been said, singling out everyone that has their own agenda is too risky. It will only serve to show the real bad guys where to look to find the real good guys. The bad guys already track us and conspire against us all. We mustn't make it easy for them. We must out-conspire the conspirators."
But that would give the benefit of locking them into Neutral claims, which would require them to behave erratically, which will be beneficial to us as it will also help us catch scum.
Your theory is interesting, but seems to hinge strongly on this presumption here. I'm not sure what kind of erratic behavior you're expecting to see. It seems like it would be easy for scum to hide in the neutral claims.
I'd rather lose to a group of Neutrals than a scumteam, if my win condition has already been made unreachable.
I'd like you to explain this a little better, because it doesn't make sense from any alignment, because it makes it seam like there are different qualities of loss.
Meh. I can only see that being a viable counter-argument if there are 5+ Neutrals in this game. But, fair enough.
Cyan, are you just exaggerating your roleplay or do you have a PR or something that makes you constantly throw suspicion towards tordeck? If neither, what makes you think he's scum?

Only if their made-up win condition didn't get counterclaimed by an actual Neutral with that win con.

Well, the town win condition is "The scum must die." So if every townie is dead, there's a higher chance of the scum completing their win condition, if each Neutral is focused on their own win condition. That being said, I'd rather not lose to the scum, as that's counterintuitive to my own win condition - so if the town doesn't win, I'd prefer for the Neutrals to.

"Given what Xyre has said." Guardman takes a long drag on his imaginary cigarette to look cool... (and then quickly throws it away to avoid the censors) "We very well could be looking at an ungodly amount of tampons in this game. I mean neutrals."

I was all ready to come in here and talk about a massclaim to get us out of RVS (a lengthy one, by recent standards), and I see Iso's already done it for me.
I don't think that claiming that will help the town, however. Just seems to paint the scum a roadmap of who not to kill.

"One we aren't dealing with a cult so your examples are sort of stretches. And two as I said before a loss is a loss meaning the neutrals can be just as big of a threat as the scum because of the shutdown.
"And third your plan really has little advantage if any to the town and gives the scum and neutrals a lot to work with. You even admit the flaw yet seem to wipe it away as well the scum will be pigeon holed into being neutral and acting erratic, but this is stupid as depending on there win condition a neutral can act more town than a town, or scummier than a scum. It basically creates a free pass for the scum and no real useful info for the town.
"Combine that with your I would rather see the neutrals win then the scum attitude and you end up being less kosher then pork."
If there are 7 or so (or more) Neutrals, then wouldn't it be in the scum's best interest to kill them off instead of the town? Because if the town is all dead, the Neutrals can likely just rush their win with a Shutdown.

"One we don't know how many neutrals there are and I don't want the neutrals to know how many there are.
"Two the scum have a strong incentive to lie about being neutral then the town who has none, so we won't get a clear picture of how many neutrals.
"Three several neutrals probably have an incentive to lie about being neutral which will skew our numbers.
"Four we don't know how many have completed their win con at any given time so even with the number we have no idea how many will vote for a shutdown.
"Basically the fact you are still pushing this claim amazes me."

"One because Xyre states the four factions are Scum, Town, SK, and neutral, meaning that there is no cult.
"Two the neutrals are not a cult. They are trying to win, but depending on there win condition they could be truly neutral, want to help the town, or want to help scum. As long as they don't harm the town I don't have a problem with them, but as soon as they try to pass a shutdown procedure then they are as bad as the scum."
Okay - and what's the guarantee that they won't try to pass a Shutdown? You're playing Russian Roulette except you don't know how many bullets are in your clip or how many bullets your clip even has. I'm suggesting a way for us to learn just how many bullets we're playing with, here.

Maybe, but there can't be more than 5 scum, so we'll have a good idea of just how many Neutrals we're dealing with here.
Better targets to kill being the town or the Neutrals? It feels to me like you're not considering all of the possible angles, here - that, or you're a Neutral. That's rhetorical, by the way, so you don't get to accuse me of fishing. I only want to know if enough people agree to the massclaim.

It's good to see that our long-time friend remains so passionate, but I think people always assumed he behaved this way before it was so overt! There's simply no room for these perverse displays in public. I'm a simple man with simple wants, and one of those is to raise my children in an Ozone Park without having them ask me why one man is pressed against another man.
We need a kinder Ozone Park, one with a nurturing family-friendly environment. For too long we have allowed these behaviors to flourish in the underground, and we need to force it back into the privacy of home (along with the other skeletons in my oponents' closet).
I will not rest. I will leave my footprints on every stump, I will put my face on every bumper, and I will make sure that my message of freedom and unity will be heard long before I would press that button. We need peace and selfless acts, not the use of bully pulpits to further pointless rhetoric!

Sir, I am not one to Waffle on my stances, but the very question seems flawed. By labeling the ones you call "neutral" you are alienating them, and singling out an entire group by a single qualification has severe ramifications if history serves us. I would be afraid of a neutral uprising! One were all the neutrals now knew each other and in allowing the information be public instigate the shutdown of society as we understand it. Sure, we know there are good town and the evil scum of Ozone Park, but by exposing those now hidden onlookers we give them more power than they should have.
Bringing people together for a kinder, gentler Ozone Park...

"That having been said, singling out everyone that has their own agenda is too risky. It will only serve to show the real bad guys where to look to find the real good guys. The bad guys already track us and conspire against us all. We mustn't make it easy for them. We must out-conspire the conspirators."
Your theory is interesting, but seems to hinge strongly on this presumption here. I'm not sure what kind of erratic behavior you're expecting to see. It seems like it would be easy for scum to hide in the neutral claims.
I'd like you to explain this a little better, because it doesn't make sense from any alignment, because it makes it seam like there are different qualities of loss.
Millionaires, I hear it's good Music (Disclaimer: lyrics not PG-13) Thanks, CC

"A loss is a loss is a loss. You can lose the Superbowl by one point or by twenty, but at the end of the day you are still not coming home with Lombardi.
"The fact you even seem to have this sort of idea, this early even, does not bode well in my eyes. I am not sure you are scum, though my gut says it's most likely, but you are definitely not town."

"Thish one, if it may be sho bold, is happy to admit that it hash an additional win condition, masters."
The ragged man looks shamefaced as he looks around, gauging reactions.
"While, we understand that thish may put our allegiansh into queshtion, it is happy to get shome informashun out there. It knowsh that secrets, when left unshaid, can be mosht damaging to its masters when they are dishcovered. But all thish one wantsh to do is sherve, masters. Thish one'sh purpose ish not to hurt anyone. It quite literally existsh to sherve itsh master, whoever that may be at the time."
The ragged man, his hands still clasped, ducks the offal hurled at him from his masters and scuttles off to mop the laboratory floors.
[OOC: Yeah, I'm a neutral - but my role is such that it would be ridiculous to play it as an anti-town neutral. I think it's important to also note that I make a terrible anti-town. The last time I was a neutral, I believe I got town MVP. I plan to do the same this game.]
"Oh god. I think he's a symbiote. Well I guess imitation is the highest form of flattery."
"From a certain perspective, it could certainly be seen that way, master."
He smiles a grin full of chipped yellow teeth.

JAJAJAJAJAJJAJAJJAJAJA HUEHUEHUEHUEHUEHUE

Then isn't my "have the Neutrals claim" proposition a good idea (at least for the town/scum)? And how do you know there's no cult? Either way, it's absolutely the same premise as my example.
(Dammit people, stop posting before I'm done with my posts. :()

"Because the only one to learn the actual number of bullet's will be the scum, who will also be able to figure out who are better targets to kill."
Better targets to kill being the town or the Neutrals? It feels to me like you're not considering all of the possible angles, here - that, or you're a Neutral. That's rhetorical, by the way, so you don't get to accuse me of fishing. I only want to know if enough people agree to the massclaim.

GET A ROOM, PERVERTS!
Thank you for your continued fervor, but I need real votes to my name in order to gain the support I need in November. If you truly believe in me and my cause, then make sure to pledge your support with an early vote!
