Sample Town Role PM: Name: Dagger Alignment: Town Flavor: It was supposed to be a gathering among like-minded friends. A chance to contact the other side, and to gain an insight into secrets gleaned from the dead. After 42 consecutive failed attempts at a séance, finally one of you managed to acquire an ancient grimoire that actually looked promising from a decrepit second-hand bookstore. It even came with lots of gruesome illustrations and there was a note attached claiming the leathery pages were made of human skins. It all felt so very authentic and exciting. And thus Séance #43 was planned, in a living room swept clean of all unnecessary stuffs. Candles. Arcane Symbols. Ritual Circles. Esoteric Herbs. A drop of human blood. And that was when things went wrong. For the contact was not the other side. It was somewhere far beyond it, in the outer reaches of both reality and sanity. And it was not the dead who answered. It was something far more horrifying. And hungry beyond belief. Ability: You have had some first aid training, due to a legacy of misspent youth. Every Night, you may protect another person from all kills for the night. Alas, you must be alive to do so. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
Mod Note:
1. There is no kill-preventing role in this game. The Doctor is dead.
Dagger volunteered, the stupid brainless fool that he was.
With a penknife, he pricked his index finger over the metal bowl set in the middle of the ritual circle, allowing a drop of his blood to drip into it. A single drop became a trickle, which in turn became a steady stream of red that kept on pouring steadily downward.
It started with a few raised eyebrows, which rapidly degenerated into alarmed cries, and shouts for Dagger to move his hand the hell away and to stop the bloody bleeding.
Dagger continued to hold his hand over the metal bowl, his face terrified and panicking, and how he struggled to move. His other hand gripped tightly onto the paralyzed arm and his muscles bulged. The force of his grip began to peel away his skin in gouges, and still his hand remained motionless in the air. And the steady red that flowed down endlessly into the metal bowl were joined by the new wounds caused by the torn skins. Within seconds, the entire arm was covered with a slick of red.
And through it all, the metal bowl remained frighteningly empty, the blood seemingly vanishing into an unknown depth.
It was with a fit of desperation, at the look of Dagger’s rapidly paling face, both from shock and from the loss of blood, which spurred me into movement. A few of the others had the same thoughts as well. As a group, we grabbed Dagger’s torso and attempted to pull him away from the ritual circle. It was like trying to move a wall, or a pillar. And it was getting increasingly difficult, with our grip compromised by the slippery blood.
And it was with a look of crazed epiphany that Dagger finally reacted from the shock and terror. He gripped his penknife and began to hack futilely at his own arm, attempting the impossible. One slash at a time. One hack at a time. And even more blood flowed.
We screamed, of course. For Dagger to stop. For more forceful attempts at pulling him away. For any sort of sanity amongst this insanity.
It was not to be so.
~~~
I sat down, unseeing, rocking, mumbling. I was still in shock.
The body that was once Dagger lay out crumpled before me, a blanket stained with red covering it. His nearly severed arm still reached out toward the metal bowl in the middle of the ritual circle, pale white and bloodless, drained of its lifeblood but still covered with the sticky black red of congealed blood. No one dared to touch that arm. No one wanted to walk near it, even to put something to cover it.
The metal bowl, the focus of the séance, remained terrifyingly empty, despite the amount of blood poured into it.
How had it all gone so wrong?
“The door is locked. The windows are locked. Even the bloody phone lines are dead.”
There were some murmurs going around.
“Did you try your mobile again? Mine is still not working.”
“I tried smashing that damn window. The damn crowbar broke instead. Like what the hell?!”
“Oh god. Oh god. Oh god. We shouldn’t have done this in the first place. Oh god. Oh-“
“Shut the hell up. We are getting out of here no matter what.”
“No, we are not. We need to-
Thump.
Everyone paused. All eyes riveted toward the source of the sound.
The metal bowl had moved.
Thump. Thump. Zzzkt.
The metal bowl had definitely moved this time.
There were terrified shouts and obscene curses. There were distressed cries and mad scrambles away from the ritual circle.
Zzzkt. Ttzzktkrzzt. Yzkktrzzkrtt.
Instinctively, I understood as I was overcome by a terrible epiphany. And with that understanding, a constrictive painful feeling blossomed in my chest. Judging by the alarmed glances exchanged around by everyone in the room, all knew of it.
It was an offer of blood. It was an offer of a bloody game in exchange for freedom away from this nightmare. For that which we had summoned wanted to sate its dark amusement and hunger. But most of all, it wanted to play. With us.
Dagger, Town Doctor has been killed.
~~~~~
It is now Day 1.
With 12 Players alive, it’s 7 Players to Lynch.
Do take note of the following: There is no kill-preventing role in this game. The Doctor is dead.
KoolKoal: Feel free to take this with a grain of salt since self meta isn't particularly helpful, but I think I get scumread mostly for style over substance, but also for a certain lack of substance over style. It's not so much what I AM posting most of the time (though sometimes that can seem bad) but what I'm NOT posting. I've been told I come to non-obvious conclusions a lot, so when I post, quite a bit of the time there's jumps in logic that people can't follow and they think that's scummy. I get that accusation about a lot of questions I ask specifically. People call them "busy work" when the questions are legit etc.
As far as things to ignore, I can't think of anything. I would suggest you focus less on what I'm doing and more on how I'm doing it. That's probably more likely to be accurate. Like I've just said, what I do tends to come off a little weird, but if you look for how I do it, mindset comes into play and maybe you figure out something useful.

Sample Town Role PM:
Name: Dagger
Alignment: Town
Flavor: It was supposed to be a gathering among like-minded friends.
We'll make you an offer you can't refuse.

~~~
I sat down, unseeing, rocking, mumbling. I was still in shock.
The body that was once Dagger lay out crumpled before me, a blanket stained with red covering it. His nearly severed arm still reached out toward the metal bowl in the middle of the ritual circle, pale white and bloodless, drained of its lifeblood but still covered with the sticky black red of congealed blood. No one dared to touch that arm. No one wanted to walk near it, even to put something to cover it.
The metal bowl, the focus of the séance, remained terrifyingly empty, despite the amount of blood poured into it.
How had it all gone so wrong?
“The door is locked. The windows are locked. Even the bloody phone lines are dead.”
There were some murmurs going around.
“Did you try your mobile again? Mine is still not working.”
“I tried smashing that damn window. The damn crowbar broke instead. Like what the hell?!”
“Oh god. Oh god. Oh god. We shouldn’t have done this in the first place. Oh god. Oh-“
“Shut the hell up. We are getting out of here no matter what.”
“No, we are not. We need to-
Thump.
Everyone paused. All eyes riveted toward the source of the sound.
The metal bowl had moved.
Thump. Thump. Zzzkt.
The metal bowl had definitely moved this time.
There were terrified shouts and obscene curses. There were distressed cries and mad scrambles away from the ritual circle.
Zzzkt. Ttzzktkrzzt. Yzkktrzzkrtt.
Instinctively, I understood as I was overcome by a terrible epiphany. And with that understanding, a constrictive painful feeling blossomed in my chest. Judging by the alarmed glances exchanged around by everyone in the room, all knew of it.
It was an offer of blood. It was an offer of a bloody game in exchange for freedom away from this nightmare. For that which we had summoned wanted to sate its dark amusement and hunger. But most of all, it wanted to play. With us.
Dagger, Town Doctor has been killed.
Honored to have a knight join our little game.
This is not a random lynch, pinky is scum.
No questions, no brakes, I'm riding this wagon to a lynch.
Join in the killing of pinkys_scum, tezzeret!
And you know that because...
you're scum too?
You should join me in the pinky lynch, kill-joy. Throw a little pep into your step!
Just throw him in a mouse wheel.
Same difference.
He'll die of exhaustion.
Confirmed town.
That was easy. NEXT!
I WILL NOT LET THE RVS DIE!!!
Alright cool, you just admitted to being scum. I never thought this would catch scum so fast.
Unvote
Vote kill-joy
I caught you first, scum!
Yeah, Mu is right. You are totally scum.
Vote: Pinkys_Brain
I don't believe you are right this time, though.
Perhaps you're right that I'm wrong. And if you're wrong that I'm wrong, you're scum.
Nah just kidding, kill-joy's response to my vote makes me think he's town.
Unvote
Vote pinkys_brian
Like I said, no brakes.
Unvote
Vote pinkys_brian, now (im)properly spelled.
I'm not.
Although Mu's apperent zeal for a probable mislynch is making me suspicious.
Wagons are too old school.
I take fighter jets.
Evidence or it didn't happen.
His role PM indicates he's scum.
With every second you go without lynching him, you look scummier. I can taste the scum on you. Slurp slurp slurp.
How are you seeing him Role PM?
Also, if you're gonna slurp on me... At least buy me dinner first. It's only polite.
Wait... you're licking people too, tezz? O.O
Now vote pinkys_brian damn it!
...All hail the mighty hat!
Unvote. Vote Pinky's Brain
3 more votes please, let's end this day.
Or else this would be messed up.
Not if I have anything to say about it.
I CHALLENGE YOU TO A JOUST, SIR!
*stab*
I win cuz I'm Belkar.
So are we seriously out of RVS?
How many times do I have to repeat this, pinky is scum. We're lynching him. No questions, no breaks.
Just one more time. And till I get proof, or at least till we get more players...
Unvote
The hat is all the proof you need. I find your unvote most unagreeable to the town's interests.
I find mislynches disagreeable to the towns interest.
I don't care what your hat says. Wait till people start playing!
It has an effect on the ability to lynch anyone. lol
I'm pretty sure we don't even have a total of 7 people who have posted yet.
Except I have no reason to think he's scum except for your hat.
Which is about as much proof as this:
Indeed this is entertaining.
You should unvote due to how RVS is over now.
I will bet my avatar on him being scum.
Ok.
If he flips town you have to change it to My Little Pony for 6 months.
It helps like I like My Little Pony anyway.
Note: This deal is considered null and void if you are scum, kill-joy. Can't have insider knowledge ruining my bet. As such, if I'm wrong, I'll change it after and if you've revealed town (whether that be game end or when you die.)
Now get to lynching pinky.
