umm this is terrible. Think about it. Lets say we have two ways to make money. One we can make 50 dollars no problem and another where we ask for any amount we want. But "team scum" has the ability to prevent one way for us to make money. If we name 500 they block the 500 obviously and we make 50. If we name 30 they block the 50 and we make 30. What you are suggesting is that we willfully make 30 dollars instead of 50
they help catch scum by PoE in the endgame. And to be frank there is nothing wrong with making 50 dollars. They are gonna roleblock someonewhy can't it be ged? Of course we give ged the option of burning out which will WIFOM the scum team
If this forum had Greasers, Phoenix, Commons and Semantics would be the leaders of the gang and every time they commented on something they would do a synchronized finger snap then smoke a cigarette.
"Who has the ability to kill another player?" would find an SK.
Can't ask about specific players, even in the sense of getting player names as an answer. So "how many players can kill another player" would be the closest thing I can get to this.
Why not simply use Ged as a cop? This negates any variables and will eventually produce scum, even moreso if Ged uses Atlseal's list as a jumping off point.
This is what I was going to do if I'd remained unclaimed. SADFACE.
2) Based on the question that he asked N1, yeah, I'm pretty sure he's town. No scum worth half their weight in salt would give a damn whether AI is really a miller.
How do you know I'm not lying about my claim?
I don't understand why in a mass-claim we have to force dC to claim.
@rp- obviously not, maybe you forgot that ged was run up to a claim?
I'm fairly biased here because I've never been overwhelmed with the "Ged scum" case in the first place. This town is too wagon happy for its own good.
Why the setup speculation btw? Multiple scum teams? Cults? Survivors? If there's a cult we're all screwed, but moderators aren't gonna ninja cult us, right? If there's another scum team, first, wasn't that ruled out? And second, who cares? Lynching scum is lynching scum, I don't give a damn what flavor it comes in. these were questions ged can ask, i am most partial to the sk one because it is typically the most relevant. I obviously do not advocate these as first questions but they certainly have their merits.
As for you not being convinced by ged's wagon, it doesnt matter if you were convinced what matters is if ged was convinced

Frankly I would have told THAT wagon to go take a flying jump into the parking lot face first if it wanted a claim out of me.
But why fakeclaim THAT instead of Doctor or something? Refuge in audacity, I'll grant you, but Ged just doesn't seem that sort. Plus if he goes down there, he outs the doctor.

Basically, this seems like a giant waste of a question here, and I'm honestly curious - why do you want to waste our question?
Here, lemme answer them.
1) No. There's no cult, because OMFG CULT GAH
2) No, because someone did setup speculation and stuff that showed there isn't back on page 6 or so and I don't care to go find it.
3) *Checks night kills start of day 3* 2? Does one look like a vig shot? No? SK
If this forum had Greasers, Phoenix, Commons and Semantics would be the leaders of the gang and every time they commented on something they would do a synchronized finger snap then smoke a cigarette.
In that case I like the "# of vanillas" question, followed by a mass-claim on Day Three. I mean, seriously. Half the town has already claimed, and we still don't have any claimed players a majority is willing to lynch. The public coordination of our power roles seems like a worthwhile goal considering the scum already have great targets to choose from. If we do this, Ged can then rolecop a scummy claimed player. Hell, we could even mass-claim RIGHT NOW and then Ged can start rolecopping people immediately, but I think that would be a bit premature.
Possible burnouts Ged could use:
Sacrifice self to revive Cyan.
Sacrifice self to kill Cyan's killer.
The foil to Jobie's burnout (redirect all non-magical abilities to self). Obviously atlseal would then watch Ged.
alright since everyone and their mjother has screwed this up here is the definition of setup question that i believe DYH is using: a question that could be answered before role pms were sent out
alright since everyone and their mjother has screwed this up here is the definition of setup question that i believe DYH is using: a question that could be answered before role pms were sent out
Oh I see.
Meh.
Have fun with that. I'm going to go do more behavioral analysis and hope I don't suck as badly.
I can't just cop, but I can ask things like "how many town players have a one shot cop as a burnout?", which would essentially cop Kraj and AE.
This is a good start. I approve this question. But should we try for a broader range of a question? Ged should have a few questions in mind so the scum will have to think on what to do.
I think I'd rather see if we have a serial killer first, before we make any claiming plans.
If we are looking at only a single kill per night, then I'd support the claim, since they have an abundance of good targets (not just the power roles mentioned) already.
If we're looking at multiple kills per night, then we could be facing all of our power roles and analysts being eliminated prior to reaching the endgame if we mass-claim too early.
@manders- in the midst of engineering his falseclaim he came up with his question
Except he had been claiming to know AI was town long before he was wagoned. Which basically means he would have to have been planning his false claim at least during night 1, which is possible. But it's also unusual for scum to craft false claims that confirm unconfirmed townies since that just serves to narrow the mislynch field.
First off, does the plan entail a vanilla claim or a full blown mass claim? Of those two options, I prefer the vanilla claim. Both will reveal who the PRs are, but only one reveals what powers those roles have.
That being said, I'm torn on the plan.
On the one hand, like I said, it does narrow down the scum NK options, but it would also have the potential to PoE scum out of it.
Overall, I think I'm begrudgingly for the plan. I think the potential to PoE scum outweighs the PRs being not completely outed. If people prefer the mass claim part of it, I'm against the plan. Too much information leakage for my tastes.

I side with AI on this, I don't particularly see much of a downside of mass-claiming at this point. We are effectively reaching the threshold of PR's as it is, so locking people in at this point should be what we want to do right? Combined with finding out the number of vanillas beforehand should really lend the power of the massclaim to the town.
Except this was about 6 hours and 4 posts after my previous post. -So, explain?
[QUOTE=Ged;/comments/10721676]But still, most people on the Anak wagon said they still supported it. What changed day 2 for you guys?
Still leaning scum on him, but I feel stronger about Az.
At that point in the game, yes, potentially. Even now, my activity level is higher than plenty of other players in the town, it's simply lower than many people expect from me.
Manders, Ged, Anak, Zindabad, Cyan, TFF, Pale Mage, and Gigas. I attacked eight different players on day one. Three came close to a lynch, and two others have since claimed. Don't tell me I wasn't working my butt off to generate info. For better or worse (probably for worse, since I wound up clearing most of them), those wagons have laid the groundwork for most of the town's agenda throughout the game.
You were working your butt off to generate info and direct the flow of the game, I just don't think it was in our best interests. Since, while yes, your activity is higher than many, in the sense of posting a lot and pushing wagons and extracting claims. It's lower in the sense of analysis and simpler things like reading rather than skimming posts.
Here, he's been incredibly proactive and involved. Like me, too overburdened for long PBPAs, but he's consistently been probing for information and moving the town forward, and anyone who thinks the evidence we have says he's not acting in the town's best interests at this point needs their behavioral analysis license revoked. His record could be faked if he's stepped up his scum-game phenomenally, but the record that we have before us is the most pro-town and solid of any player in this entire game.
The "like me" there is subtle. -Completely unneeded and a nice way of tying yourself and relating yourself to a very pro-town player.
I remain unshakeably committed to the proposition that the points that have been raised against me are complete BS without the slightest tatter of legitimacy.
Wow, really. -I was completely expecting you to admit they were all legitimate scum tells and then drag yourself to the noose. -This is very strongly worded fluff and means nothing.
I don't think your scum, but this is the kind of case that scum build, because they can get emotional, block-headed townies to go along with it and kill someone who didn't have a single real behavioral tell against them.
And, yes, I happen to think the majority of the players on my wagon are townies.
So, it's the kind of case scum build, built and lead by townies? -How are you connecting these dots?
(discredit the wagon by saying it's scummy; appease the attackers by calling them townie; forget logic, reason and making sense)
My sense is that at least half the scum are probably stepping lightly around this wagon, because as is, the cases made in support of it are a complete joke. If I were faced with this situation, where the cases on an analyst are atrocious but he's under significant pressure, I would be waiting until he either implodes or the wagon breaks down to make my move - or I would be playing the voice of reason. Scum who fail to get me dead have to contend with serious worries about a counterattack.
This game is going horrible. To many vote hoping players. Cyans vote to me looks like its simply to remove Seppel from the game regardless of alignment. Will take some time to look over the mess that is this game to see what I can make of it.
AE's assessment that I 'just want Seppel out of the game' is silly. I've never placed a vote on Seppel for this reason in any game, even when I was scum. Even when I genuinely thought he was scum.
I forgot you replaced into Doha. But I already knew you were town at that point, so it's hard for me to make much of that experience. Though, you did come in and start reading the thread there, while giving updates of the progress. And you claimed you were all caught up in Vesperia in your first post, but that was fairly short.
How far along are you in reading this game?
Ooh, now that's a good post. I hope TFF follows up on it!
If this forum had Greasers, Phoenix, Commons and Semantics would be the leaders of the gang and every time they commented on something they would do a synchronized finger snap then smoke a cigarette.
EBWoP: Oh, and as an addendum to the list of claims, we have no idea if desCoures has any other abilities other than being mod-confirmed. If I had to venture a guess, I'd say that he has another ability (or two).
EBWoP: Oh, and as an addendum to the list of claims, we have no idea if desCoures has any other abilities other than being mod-confirmed. If I had to venture a guess, I'd say that he has another ability (or two).
I remain interested in JSColton, but in the meantime, I'm continuing to gravitate towards Pale Mage, primarily based on activity/content.
My starting points for that are the way in which he was doggedly interested in following up on his question to me about how Atlseal's list could reveal the SK. Of all the things that was going on in the thread, it was that minor piece of housekeeping that he kept coming back to.
Most of what has been going on in this thread from the beginning of the game is fairly useless. Half of the posts could not have been made and we'd be further along. Your comment about finding an SK with the list seemed strange since we don't know if we have an SK and it came on the heels of your spat with people about the alignment of a corpse, which seemed a ridiculous thing of which to be suspicious. Seemed un-Az like to me, and in spite of relatively good feelings about you yesterday, how you started today made me itch a tad.
Reads like someone more interested in token contributions than actual scum-hunting, which he's done precious little of throughout either day. The only case he seemed to truly push hard was MMoD for lurking - nothing substantive.
Actually, I pushed on MMoD before he even started lurking to try and keep him in the light. I find him tough to read sometimes if he isn't active. Of course, he really wasn't the guy I was pushing on all day at all, was he? Pretty sure any proper read my posts Day One demonstrates this. In fact, any time I could I asked people about him when no one else seemed interested in helping me pursue him, particularly folks I wanted a quick interaction with or made me itch. Example: Part of Skander's attack on you was for a mindset tell that simply didn't exist because you were clearly speaking in the hypothetical ("in the scenario" I think is how I phrased it). It might have been a simple mistake from reading too quickly if Skander is town...but he seemed slow on the uptake as I walked him through it (in fact, I don't think he ever fully backed away from his position). Playing dumb or honestly confused? Skander's a pretty smart guy in my book, so at that point I'm thinking he could be faking...so I asked him about Vezok. (And then he gave me immediate push back and than the standard non-answer...which is part of why "Rising Phoenix" was my answer for Zindabad when he asked about folks who might be scum but would be problematic to prove, btw).
I also plinked him early on for some forced joking...
Number one, I made no Star Wars jokes, and Number Two, how were my jokes forced, sir? Like if you don't like the jokes, fine, but they aren't "forced". They're just jokes.
...and declining to take a stance in the massive TFF vs. Az throwdown.
I take great exception to this one (and it isn't the first time I've heard it). I did NOT "decline to take a stance". I declined to vote TFF for behavior that doesn't look scummy to me, and I declined to vote you for throwing your vote around like confetti. I took two stances: TFF's reaction wasn't scummy and your pursuit of various peoples in a short span of time wasn't out of character for how you had been playing the game up until then, which I had in fact already commented on when you first attacked Manders, I believe.
Plus, the whole "didn't take a stance" angle is silly anyway. I take oodles of stances when I'm scum. In fact when I'm scum I hate posting if I don't have something to take a stance on.
I'll probably do some spelunking through his history and see what else I can dig up. But as is, he looks an awful lot like a scum player trying (and succeeding) at staying under the radar while we kill one another.
Yeah, that's what I've been doing. Also, I've totally decided to screw my team up by keeping a buddy in the light for anyone who bothers to read my posts, declining to jump on other wagons in order to get away from him (I mean GOD FORBID I HELP PUSH ANAK TOWARDS THE DROP WITH THE AIRTIGHT VANILLA CLAIM...unless he's a buddy as well, I guess), and advising the town to let a Lightning Rod make up his own mind about whether or not to go all magnet-ty so we can't plan as effectively. Ya got me. I'll just put the noose around my neck myself, shall I?
Assuming you're town for a sec, Azrael, why exactly was I encouraging Zindabad to keep it in his pants when he was threatening to gun you down poste haste, something I have no doubt he would do if left to his own devices (see Asphodel Meadows, and obviously the recent events here have demonstrated this trait)? Where's my upside if I'm scum? Let's see...dead analyst, one potential lynch off the table for the day with little information to show for it versus...what?
It's like you think I've had a stroke.
Out of time this morning. Usually I draft on Wednesday, but I was thinking of staying in tonight anyways (tired already), and there's more to comment on re: me, plus other stuff.
Quickly, though, we shouldn't be locking Ged into any particular question or action for tonight. Suggestions are great (like if there's a question or two that the majority of us can agree on, great...but we shouldn't be coming up with that in the middle of the Day). Point being, just like with Jobie, we don't want the bad guys knowing exactly what Ged is going to do, particularly with something that powerful. What they decide to do should vary greatly whether Ged is trying to gather information or martyr himself, for example. It's better to leave them in the dark so they have an opportunity to screw the pooch.
Also, Zindabad...dude. That's our second lynch with practically no information. Sad face.
Part of Skander's attack on you was for a mindset tell that simply didn't exist because you were clearly speaking in the hypothetical ("in the scenario" I think is how I phrased it). It might have been a simple mistake from reading too quickly if Skander is town...but he seemed slow on the uptake as I walked him through it (in fact, I don't think he ever fully backed away from his position). I was very disappointed when Skander replaced out, because I really wanted to hear more from him about this.
Yeah, that's what I've been doing. Also, I've totally decided to screw my team up by keeping a buddy in the light for anyone who bothers to read my posts, declining to jump on other wagons in order to get away from him
I'll repeat myself: scumVezok is a scum punching bag. It's free townie points if you try to push on him, and it makes you look like you're contributing!
why exactly was I encouraging Zindabad to keep it in his pants when he was threatening to gun you down poste haste, something I have no doubt he would do if left to his own devices (see Asphodel Meadows, and obviously the recent events here have demonstrated this trait)? Why exactly are you asking dumb questions?
These questions are sarcastic questions, not probing questions.
You want the answer to your questions? Well here it is: Because you don't do that as scum. You try to play smart. You try to play like a townie. If you fear taking heat for it, you just won't do it.
Actually, here's an EVEN BETTER ANSWER: You already put yourself in that position when you defended Anaklusmos in the same way just two days ago:
While I don't agree with you on all the points (or, more accurately, how to weigh the points), I see where you're coming from. Thing is...second lynch.
Consider the worst case scenarios here:
A bad shot is worthless to us unless it tells us something about you.
A mislynch can still be valuable in the long run.
Add to that regardless of whether or not we hit scum, we get a lynch where the scum don't get a chance to use their abilities/burnouts before we lynch again.
You've survived Mike Ashley this long. Surely we can examine our targets fully before execution?
It's the only reaction that you could make.
So, sarcastically touting that as a defense? Yeah, you screwed up big time here.
Seems like a good way to go along to get along, right? MMoD is another "punching bag." Anyone can have a go at him for lurking and look like they're contributing.

This is an extension of the above defense, and it's also WIFOM. An alternate interpretation of the above-quoted actions would be that you were relying on what you appear to regard as my vig-happy nature to take over anyway (surprise!) and instead bank townie points for looking like you were trying to convince me to forbear.

Oh, you mean like the first one, where vezok flipped scum? Very dubious wording there, almost like you were bemoaning an obviously successful lynch. And I don't agree that there's no information available from either.
I have a lot more to say on this topic, which I will articulate when I'm on a machine with a browser that lets me search and quote posts properly.
The "I'm smarter than this as scum" defense. Come on, PM. Last time I saw this was lrd trying to tell us he didn't just claim scum on D1 of LOTR II.
Don't forget you also did it in Goo, zindabad.
But this point is terrible. While scum getting caught making a slip and then trying to explain it away as a symptom of playing a careless town game is one thing, being accused of bussing when the equally likely possibility of legitimate scum-hunting exists is a whole 'nother story. Since we can't know for certain if PM was bussing vezokpiraka until after he's dead, we shouldn't use his statement that he wouldn't bus like that as scum as a point against him.
To be clear, I'm pretty sure he was bussing, but the fact that he said he wasn't isn't a tell one way or the other.
Oh, you mean like the first one, where vezok flipped scum? Very dubious wording there, almost like you were bemoaning an obviously successful lynch. And I don't agree that there's no information available from either.
This is a really good point, though. The wagon was fast, sure, but that's probably because vezok actually claimed scum. So you really can't complain about that.
No. You unvoted the next day after you were questioned on it and gave a terrible answer. -Wanna explain again how a naked vote was supposed to be trolling? And what would you have done if no one asked you about the vote?
Explain to me exactly how a list containing half the games players WIFOM's the scum? Don't the scum know exactly who's scum in the list of players? The list WIFOM's the town about who's town in that list. It creates a subgame of mafia, and would likely be a huge distraction. Only a scum would want something like that to happen, ergo you're scum.

Possible burnouts Ged could use:
Sacrifice self to revive Cyan.
Sacrifice self to kill Cyan's killer.

We shouldn't.

I am sucking terribly recently.
alright since everyone and their mjother has screwed this up here is the definition of setup question that i believe DYH is using: a question that could be answered before role pms were sent out
nah, it is more like i've been a total all star this game
Oh I see.
Meh.
Have fun with that. I'm going to go do more behavioral analysis and hope I don't suck as badly.
This is a good start. I approve this question. But should we try for a broader range of a question? Ged should have a few questions in mind so the scum will have to think on what to do.
They hate us cause they ain't us.
This.
Well... that would kind of be the point of a mass claim.
Except he had been claiming to know AI was town long before he was wagoned. Which basically means he would have to have been planning his false claim at least during night 1, which is possible. But it's also unusual for scum to craft false claims that confirm unconfirmed townies since that just serves to narrow the mislynch field.

Goodie.
You seem hellbent on convincing me that you're not town.
isnt this how you are supposed to play jester?
I'm going to giggle when the giant mountain of eggs drops on your face.

Fix'd.
I get that the explanation of "cuz of the pr" was a troll.
-How was a plain unexplained wagon vote a troll?
Still leaning scum on him, but I feel stronger about Az.
I want to throw something at you.
This is probably the most artificial thing I've ever read.
The "like me" there is subtle. -Completely unneeded and a nice way of tying yourself and relating yourself to a very pro-town player.
Wow, really. -I was completely expecting you to admit they were all legitimate scum tells and then drag yourself to the noose. -This is very strongly worded fluff and means nothing.
So, it's the kind of case scum build, built and lead by townies? -How are you connecting these dots?
(discredit the wagon by saying it's scummy; appease the attackers by calling them townie; forget logic, reason and making sense)
Again, discrediting the wagon. -And why are you waiting to see who joins, if you're expecting the scum to stay away from it?
What else would it mean?
OH SON OF A *****, JSCOLTON WAS KPACA
Hey can we lynch AE now?
Oh hey Cyan agrees with me.
Ooh, now that's a good post. I hope TFF follows up on it!
SPOILERS: He sort of does.
Long way to go little bro.
Okay I can't handle this any more for now.
Interesting Night Kill flavor there.
Not interested in RisingPhoenix as scum.
@Kraj: Did you ask DYH what happens when you spell-cop someone who just used his or her burnout?
Yes I know, shut up about that plz k thx.
Number one, I made no Star Wars jokes, and Number Two, how were my jokes forced, sir? Like if you don't like the jokes, fine, but they aren't "forced". They're just jokes.
Sad face.
Please show me where you pushed on MMoD and the time at which MMoD started lurking.
I was very disappointed when Skander replaced out, because I really wanted to hear more from him about this.
I'll repeat myself: scumVezok is a scum punching bag. It's free townie points if you try to push on him, and it makes you look like you're contributing!
OH SNAP
Why exactly are you asking dumb questions?
These questions are sarcastic questions, not probing questions.
You want the answer to your questions? Well here it is: Because you don't do that as scum. You try to play smart. You try to play like a townie. If you fear taking heat for it, you just won't do it.
Actually, here's an EVEN BETTER ANSWER: You already put yourself in that position when you defended Anaklusmos in the same way just two days ago:
So when you say this:
It's the only reaction that you could make.
So, sarcastically touting that as a defense? Yeah, you screwed up big time here.
Unvote, vote Pale Mage.
MandersHex (2) - Kraj, poggydude
Pale Mage (2) - AsianInvasion, Seppel
With 19 alive, it is 10 to lynch.
V/LA: 3/21-3/24 & 3/27-3/29
@seppel if i didnt replace in so late we'd be in a dead heat
Seems like a good way to go along to get along, right? MMoD is another "punching bag." Anyone can have a go at him for lurking and look like they're contributing.
What is your characterization of how RP has played in this game since replacing Skander?
See, I don't agree. I made a similar post regarding the TFF/Az aggro...well, ok, I'm having trouble quoting on this public access computer, so we'll leave that for later.
The "I'm smarter than this as scum" defense. Come on, PM. Last time I saw this was lrd trying to tell us he didn't just claim scum on D1 of LOTR II.
"...a talisman against all evil, so long as you obey me."
Why aren't you voting Pale Mage?
Why did you ignore my question to you and choose to play around instead?
Leaning town on PM.
Vote MandersHex.
AE is still totally scum as well.
