I was blocked again. I'm less sure on Andelijah than I was prior, although I am still suspicious of his stance regarding me and Spot.
I could see Infinis as the SK who got blocked night 1. Two kills each night, excepting night 1 where we have RR blocked (town) and Infinis blocked, and Spot's kill prevented on Dagger by DYH. The only real explanation is that either Infinis is the SK or some other oddball thing happened, such as yet another protective role or the SK willingly choosing not to kill, etc.
I would say there is little chance he is part of the mafia based on his play. I could see him as a SK, though, which plays closer to town by virtue of not having info on scum.
FoS Infinis. Consider that a vote pending the current vote count. I support a full claim from him.
One thing: I looked up fall out boy, and the only thing I could find regarding superheros was that he was a simpson's sidekick to Radioactive Man. Infinis claimed he was a sidekick to Captain Atom. Is there a reason for this discrepancy?
By day he is 7 year old billionaire playboy Calvin, but by night he is...
STUPENDOUS MAN!!!
And for those asking about the action scenes, I'm sorry that I've put them on hold. It was getting difficult to make detailed posts and continue RP'ing. Also, props to CC for guessing so close. Spaceman Spiff gets much more comics than Stupendous Man, and I let it influence me. Plus Calvin invents a bunch of gadgets for himself all the time. But hey, in the overactive imagination of a 7 year old boy like Calvin, he's likely to see himself as a sort of omni-hero, like a cross between Superman and Batman.
Umm, for obvious reasons, infinis is now obviously cleared. For the same stupid reason as Seppel in Battle Royale mafia.
Jqlgirl now?

GR is correct Fallout Boy is the sidekick of Radioactive Man, not Captain Atom. And why again is he cleared based on PM shenanigans? You think a scum couldn't pick a quote for his false-claim? Or find a youtube clip?
Gah! I'll try to explain it in a way someone other than me will understand.
You said we. In one way or another you considered yourself at that moment to be part of a group. I know of two groups. One is the mafia. You'd be scum. One is a neighbor. You might not be scum. I want you to claim Ced's neighbor, so that you can be counterclaimed if you're lying. If you don't I'm going to assume that you're in the mafia. Just assuming you're part of a protown subgroup right now is terrible.
That or, you know, explain exactly who you meant when you said we.
Name: Pizza Girl
What I think of JqlGirls case after Dagger's help: Number 1 and 3 are signs of a disinterested mafia player. I would know. 2 is scummy, but not radically so. It's not enough to command my attention in the current situation. If that's the extent of the case, it's encouraging to realize that I didn't miss as much as I thought I might have.
@I'm not going to go with cleared, if the scum have false claims as we suspect.

I'm not claiming anything without cause. The "We" was not a slip up. That said, unless i'm pressured, i won't claim my role and make it easier for the scum to know who to target (keeping a potential crosskill possible would indeed be very nice, no?)
And yes, you need to explain things better. You fail miserably when you don't do so via paragraphs.
@TMT....yes its sort of wifom. But essentially he just claimed to do an action that he forgot was not allowed so as to prove himself...its the type of honest-sounding post that comes from town players, not scum ones. Especially not newb inexperieinced scum players.

Two points do not make a trend no, but I thought maybe it could've been.
In Batman and Battle Royale Mafia's flavor setup played a major role, I thought perhaps the same here when the softclaim came up so many Other sources
My play to this point in hindsight has not gotten me anywhere except deeper in a hole. Nonetheless, I was trying to make it difficult for scum to claim later on in the game based on the softclaim and setup. Yes it blew up spectacularly but I was trying to help not hinder town.
I was defensive of my image because arguments coming from someone with a poor image are never considered equally with those with good images. For example, for some no matter what Bill O'reilly says it will always be considered conservative spin. Same with the likes of Al Franken and liberalism. Both of these people could make good points but on image alone they are dismissed by many.
Insult my play fine, insult my intelligence go ahead, but as I stated above my intentions were good and trying to pin down scum later in the game.
I was pro-soft claim. Everyone who was anti soft claim seems to be suspect now. I undeservedly garnered attention under false pretenses. When I tried to correct the situation, albeit too aggressively, I was called down for it. Even now I'm the number suspect for SK because ~ blocked me based on that list? With neighbor and ascetic and bodyguard in play, I believe an unkillable role is as believable as SK.
I have yet to Fos or Vote someone based on OMGUS, I believe that term is thrown around way too often. Combine that with WIFOM and you can negate any attack or defense.
Promising a reread on someone is a threat now? I always thought innocent until proven guilty. AH made a quick vote on me with little argument to back it up. I think that is deserving of research. Yeah, so none of that was a claim.
Please claim.
And FWIW, my role came with a protective ability that didn't block a kill Night 1. So we've got two roleblocks, DYH's protection, RobRoy's bodygaurd, and my wouldn't-you-like-to-know. Pretty unlikely there are any other protective roles out there, I think.
@TMT....yes its sort of wifom. But essentially he just claimed to do an action that he forgot was not allowed so as to prove himself...its the type of honest-sounding post that comes from town players, not scum ones. Especially not newb inexperieinced scum players.
Forgetting the only bolded and capitalized rule in the game, especially only when name claiming, does not inspire this confidence in me.

1) What Bill O'Reilly says is conservative because he is conservative. There really isn't much more to it.
2) Why do you consider those being against the claim to have a poor image? Do you disregard stuff I say just because I was among those players?
I was pro-soft claim. Everyone who was anti soft claim seems to be suspect now. I undeservedly garnered attention under false pretenses. When I tried to correct the situation, albeit too aggressively, I was called down for it.
No one is paying attention to you based on these pretenses. You were one of just a couple players Cubus said he felt should be taken off. The only reason people are looking at you is because you decided to react so harshly to nothing.
Even now I'm the number suspect for SK because ~ blocked me based on that list?
Tilde blocked you because he suspected you, not because of the list. The post where he voted you made no reference to you being on it.
With neighbor and ascetic and bodyguard in play, I believe an unkillable role is as believable as SK.
You claiming unkillable?
I have yet to Fos or Vote someone based on OMGUS, I believe that term is thrown around way too often. Combine that with WIFOM and you can negate any attack or defense.
Every single person you have Voted, FoSed, or considered looking at in more depth has done the same to you first. You have not followed up with anyone after they stopped pressuring you. This could be coincidence, but retaliation is a much likelier explanation.
Promising a reread on someone is a threat now? I always thought innocent until proven guilty. AH made a quick vote on me with little argument to back it up. I think that is deserving of research.
His backup was quite solid - you have been playing conservatively and safely since people stopped attacking you.
Lastly @ande sarcasm, even in a forum, is usually clear. I forget that English may be your second language.
Never done so before. I did not "feel the need" to subclaim, I did it out of curiosity.
Curiosity for what?

Someone is Sylar, that is for sure. Any reason why it has to be Infinis?
It doesn't have to be Infinis, but I'm of the opinion that it's most likely Infinis. I feel neutral alignment best explains his behavior this game. He was roleblocked Night 1, during which there were no kills instead of two (one of which is already accounted for). The inaccuracy of the flavor of his claim (he mixed up who he was a sidekick of, and was off by a long shot) gives me the feeling he made it up rather than read it from his PM. All in all I think the odds are very good that he's the SK, and by extension the best lynch today.

I still disagree with this. Scum who are falseclaiming double check their claims before posting them. Even if they had come up with them a long time before (say day 1, when we were subclaiming). Stupid mistakes like that are more often the result of townies not really caring to check back at their PM when name claiming, since they know who they are.

Scum can make careless mistakes too. In DDay Mafia I erroneously claimed to have targeted Pale Mage with my roleblock because I was working off memory rather than going back and checking which targets I had submitted to Stormblind. I'll concede that what you're saying is possible, but I'd say it's a null tell at best, rather than a townie tell.

Fine, but its not a scum tell. So you still lose.
@Cubus, the quote thing is baffling, but i don't think it's scummy. Not sure where it came from (the quote regarding captain atom?), but the effort to post it sounded like someone genuinely enthused with his role and enjoying revealing who he was.

Fallout boy's slogan was something like jimminy jillickers.. Not what was posted here.. I agree with those that have posted ahead of me about Infinis not being who he claims to be.
CropCircles is likely scum, because Cyan's gambit would've been very risky if he didn't have safeclaims and/or if CropCircles wasn't his scumbuddy.
Now, Spotofprey claimed Philippe. Philippe can hardly be considered a Superhero at all, but he did claim it. Perhaps because Philippe is from the same comic as the Chaos Pope (he is, in fact, his alter ego, as I pointed out).
Now look at Cyan. He claimed Elastigirl. In the light of day 1's events, that looks pretty risky on first sight. Then, Some One turned up The Underminer, a badguy from The Incredibles.
Theory: The mafia has falseclaims along the lines of "Heroes from the same source as your badguy are not in this game.
Because the Incredibles have two heroes that start with an E, Cyan and CC probably decided to gambit. Note that Cyan used the E/Female/Other as a major point in his defense when he had to claim.
I've also been searching for people that claimed goodguys from sources that had a badguy in it with a fire-based MO, but to no success. This because Infinis is likely responsible for cutting people's heads off. Supporting theory: I bet Ged would've loved to send DYH that picture of Isaac being killed by Sylar.
Just something to consider for tomorrow.
I have to agree with you that i immediately thought another incredibles character was fishy, but i didn't make the E/other connection. Really fishy.
Still, not enough on its own for a lynch of cc imo, though i need to take look backs at people.

I quoted a scene from the cartoon. Sadly it has been forgotten. I was not speaking in character dear lord, isn't the geekdom strong enough for you that we're playing a sub game on a CCG forum, that everyone has to roleplay their character.

Good thing to realize: Infinis just claimed scum.
I do not need to have access to youtube to be able to post my link, it would be simple enough to copy and paste it. I would assume that the role PM's are formatted the same for each person. The fact that Infinis had to be able to access youtube to be able to get a clip for his claim is rather strong evidence that he is lying.

I was in BR as well. Infinis did not give me the same impression as Seppel.
I don't like the fact that Infinis flubbed the details on his claim, but it strikes me as a null-tell more than a scum-tell. It makes my head go in wifom-y circles trying to decide whether he's careless town, brilliant scum, stupid scum, crafty town, or any other possible permutation, so I'm not going to dwell on that right now.
Anyway, Infinis would probably be my top suspect for the day due to the botched claim (Natural 1 on d20 FTL!), but I need to review what's been going on a bit more before I decide if his behaviour is voteworthy or not.
I know there are still a few people gunning for me, so I'll go ahead and claim now, as I really have nothing to hide.
I am John Hancock, from the movie Hancock with Will Smith. I have lots of different powers, but these days I'm far too drunk to be anything other than vanilla town amongst so many other mighty heroes.
Your opinion on Jqlgirl? Do you know something about Infinis that we don't?
Yay! Hope to hear from you soon.
Let's hear what Infinis has to say about this.
Maybe 4.
We'll need from you a list of all players you are suspecting to be scums, and players you believed to be town, as well as an overall opinion of the current situation in this game.

Review is good, since he is at L-1... Are you stalling/not reading the thread?
The only real read I have on Infinis is some vague impressions from past days and the botched claim.
I need to review his behaviour and that of everyone else. I've been very busy with work and personal issues the past few weeks and haven't been able to give this game the attention it deserves. I will, at the very least, do a reread on Infinis and a general re-read of the past day or so later today when I get home from work.
Fair enough, please note that Dagger has requested info from you (that you have already promised.) It would be wise for you to answer him first. (That is when your finished your reviewing.)

I know the Underminer was from the Incredibles. But neither Badhorse or the Chaos Pope are.
Loran: There's a rolebased reason to believe Infinis is the SK, and there's the fact that his posts today make absolutely no sense if he was telling the truth.
Yes, he may've played as town the previous days, but that doesn't mean he's no SK. Playing like a townie as SK is relatively easy. I was SK in BR, and several people called me 'almost confirmed townie', based on behavior alone.
I don't see why you don't see.
Are you claiming role based knowledge? Because if you are then when I flip town you're next Cubus, followed by Ande.
@Ande The link I received is a video one for my character. It comes from the site I hinted about. If you've never heard about this video site then it wont convince you of my innocence but if any one else has a link from that site, they may unvote.
@Cubus loran's take on my play is spot on. I posted during lunch quickly. I know I'm not scum, so I didnt look at my PM before posting. I do not have to make up a false claim or as some suggest, not I, read the false claim given by the mod in scum PM's.
If this was day one, fine, hair splitting over Captain Atom / Radioactive Man and false assumptions about what I was quoting is understandable, but this far into the game is ludacrous. I was quoting a scene from the cartoon not my character.
OMGUS aside where did the whole SK thing originate? I believe unkillable role but for the SK believers out there, maybe the player who brought up SK is running a WIFOM gambit.

I agree with loran's list with the exception of myself and CropCircles. Not sure if I'm going to agree with his order he wants to pursue them as of now, but the list is pretty good.
I'm reasonably sure that Infinis is the serial killer. I've disliked his play, and he was roleblocked night 1, when both kills were missing. One has been accounted for (spotofprey on Dagger), but the other hasn't. DYH and RobRoy were protective roles, and I don't think there are any more out there, which leaves Tilde's roleblock preventing Infinis' kill.
Vote: Infinis
Cubus, Dagger, goatrevolt, and CropCircles are all pretty clear.
It was at the start of today, so now that I have done the work for you, what are you planning on doing with it?

Holy crap do you people want me to throw out some modkills? Because I'm starting to think about it. DON'T TALK ABOUT VIDEOS OR QUOTES ANYMORE. Jeebus.
Ged, is it not fair to discuss why the player brought up said topics and why he phrased it like he did? We're not tempting modkills here, but a player's phrasing and motive should be fair game, i'd think.

I love Joboman, Poggy, Niv, and Vezok, because, while they may not be the best players, they still try to win. Having fun is the most important thing to a game, but I've learned that if you don't try to win, then you're ruining everyone else's fun.
Ged, is it not fair to discuss why the player brought up said topics and why he phrased it like he did? We're not tempting modkills here, but a player's phrasing and motive should be fair game, i'd think.
Yeah I'm overreacting, just let it be known that I'm not clearly happy about the fact that this topic was brought up at all.
Re: Ande, you're treating it like its a freudian slip and that he'd have to go to youtube to find the link via its search, i was reading it more like he'll give us the youtube link from his PM later.
That might be a fair assessment if he hadn't specified that the reason he didn't put it in was that youtube was blocked from work.
The first post I saw that had your name in it was you being associated with being the SK is here:
That was the first place somebody specifically accused him of being the SK, I believe. But I have no problem owning up to being the first to suggest he was neutral in this post here on Day 1.
@Ged: I sympathize with you. I'm sure you're frustrated with the current discussion, but unfortunately this is like one of those "the jury will disregard that statement" situations. Infinis shouldn't have posted what he did, but now that he has we can't un-read it.
CropCircles is likely scum, because Cyan's gambit would've been very risky if he didn't have safeclaims and/or if CropCircles wasn't his scumbuddy.
You kind of defeat yourself here. If the scum have false claims, then there's nothing dangerous about his claim, so your entire arguement falls on the assumption that the scum weren't given false claims. You can't possibly know that.
Even without that, I'm sure there's enough "E/Other/Female" superhero characters out there that it wouldn't have been that risky.
Quote from Cubus »
Total speculation.
Quote from Cubus »
Because the Incredibles have two heroes that start with an E, Cyan and CC probably decided to gambit. Note that Cyan used the E/Female/Other as a major point in his defense when he had to claim.
So, either we magically knew before the game started that we were going to be soft claiming first letter of our name and gender, or the mafia has to have daytalk. Otherwise, there's no way that Cyan and I could have collaborated like that. Another asssumption that your case hinges on.
In addition, if I was Cyan's gambitting scum buddy, why would I have come down on him so hard for that claim? Yeah, he used the E/Female/Other thing as a defense. 543, for anyone that wants to check it out. And a couple people even backed down because of it. Until some valiant hero refuted it. Who was that again?
If I were gambitting, why would I immediately refute the gambit when it was presented?
Ever notice how I never get lynched as town? Amistar, first time ever and it was because I lynched myself. It's because my play is easily recognizable, when I'm scum. What you've got is a theory based on more then one assumption, and not only do you have zero behavioural evidence to support it, but there's actually behavioural evidence against it.
I'm gonna have to say we should be looking at Jql tomorrow. AH and loran after that.

It has been 124 hours since your promise. If you are hoping someone would hammer Infinis before you are actually forced to post, I suggest you might as well hammer Infinis yourself to save us all the grief.
My top two picks after Infinis would be Jql and AH. I can go with the "3 scums remaining" especially since it seems as if there is no town vig.

Votecount 15
Infinis - 4 (Abandon Hope, andelijah, The Mad Tapper, Crop Circles)
JqlGirl - 1 (loran16)
With 11 alive it's 6 to lynch.

Logical Reasoning is dead; Long Live Stupidity
But good job TMT on roleplaying the Calvin role. I mean, assuming you aren't scum just using a false claim idea that I provided you.

I've already explained how so on infinis.
Also, the fact that you hid a subclaim actually does not make me feel good about you. May I ask why you felt the need to do so?
Logical Reasoning is dead; Long Live Stupidity
You're right Radioactive man it is, it was lunch time and I thought he was Captain Atom, hence the line. Should have checked PM obviously, but alas.
@Rojas Seriously? No comic book knowledge only MtG? No D&D, WoW, Sci-Fi, Anime, nothing else?
Forgot the fanboy restriction, glad I was blocked from Youtube at work, would've been modkilled
Alright let me clear the air then for the doubters.
12-11? I'm losing track
[The Family]
Forgetting the only bolded and capitalized rule in the game, especially only when name claiming, does not inspire this confidence in me.
1) What Bill O'Reilly says is conservative because he is conservative. There really isn't much more to it.
2) Why do you consider those being against the claim to have a poor image? Do you disregard stuff I say just because I was among those players?
No one is paying attention to you based on these pretenses. You were one of just a couple players Cubus said he felt should be taken off. The only reason people are looking at you is because you decided to react so harshly to nothing.
Tilde blocked you because he suspected you, not because of the list. The post where he voted you made no reference to you being on it.
You claiming unkillable?
Every single person you have Voted, FoSed, or considered looking at in more depth has done the same to you first. You have not followed up with anyone after they stopped pressuring you. This could be coincidence, but retaliation is a much likelier explanation.
His backup was quite solid - you have been playing conservatively and safely since people stopped attacking you.
What is this even responding to?

Logical Reasoning is dead; Long Live Stupidity
Scum can make careless mistakes too. In DDay Mafia I erroneously claimed to have targeted Pale Mage with my roleblock because I was working off memory rather than going back and checking which targets I had submitted to Stormblind. I'll concede that what you're saying is possible, but I'd say it's a null tell at best, rather than a townie tell.

Throwing this out there, what about Someone's claim of Sandman then? How does that fit in with this theory?
I have to agree with you that i immediately thought another incredibles character was fishy, but i didn't make the E/other connection. Really fishy.
Still, not enough on its own for a lynch of cc imo, though i need to take look backs at people.
Logical Reasoning is dead; Long Live Stupidity
I quoted a scene from the cartoon. Sadly it has been forgotten. I was not speaking in character dear lord, isn't the geekdom strong enough for you that we're playing a sub game on a CCG forum, that everyone has to roleplay their character.
I forgot it was Radioactive man, again just a slip. I'm Fall out boy, vanilla town.
Examine my wagon we can win this, you'll have at least one more scum since I doubt my wagon is scum free. If and when the hammer drops.

I do not need to have access to youtube to be able to post my link, it would be simple enough to copy and paste it. I would assume that the role PM's are formatted the same for each person. The fact that Infinis had to be able to access youtube to be able to get a clip for his claim is rather strong evidence that he is lying.
To do something I've never done before.

I've read infinis as town the whole way, and the only signs that have been added have been claim based, which is an easy way to get off-track.
