Yeah, I realized that contradiction. Roja's actions have been scummy, not just the answer, but what others have posted, but Cat is reading as town. Roja seems scummiest so far, so I decided to vote for him. It seems weird, but Roja is the best lead.
How is that answer scummy though?
As the only reason stated in the post you vote him, I would like a more thorough walk-through of your thought process.
Roja, the thing is, those votes on me look like they're reasonably genuine. You just looked like you were following the herd, then backed down almost immediately when I attacked you for it.
I FOSed you because I didn't understand exactly what you were trying to set up. Once I figured it out, (or at least figured something that would help the town.) I Thought that was exactly what you were trying to set up. I was trying to let those that were still not sure that you were town that you were trying to set something up for town. I know I read everything wrong, and when I finally got my Ah ha! moment I posted it as that is something you were trying to do. Correct me if I am wrong however that is what you were looking to do yes?
because you set up an easy out for her, so that if she's in a bind, she can just say-"o ya, what roja said" and setting up that excuse is scummy. Vote Roja
After realizing what Cat was offering (Not a mass claim nor gender claim) I thought she(?) was trying to start something good for the town. I saw this and tried to explain how I saw it as. I thought about what was being said and offered a solution or at least something to make into a solution.
I wasen't supporting a mass claim, only a claim that is fair when players are close to being lynched. (And one that isnt easy for the Mafia to claim vanilla.)
Your answer to post 51. Is that no it's not a scum tell however something that just came out wrong. Some took it as scum (including myself) however after hearing everything it was just said wrong. I feel that Cat was trying to start something good that just came out wrong.

Esper Simperer; Even the court homonculi need someone to look down on.

Naya Overenthusiast; Because there is such a thing as too much enthusiasm.
What is deeply wrong with finding a way that Town can claim town when they are near lynch status? A way of finding out that Mafia can't claim vanillia female? Because of the nature of this game a simple name claim just isn't going to be a simple name claim. If we are going to go on this case by case status who is going to be the one in charge in determining what info is needed?
As of methods that I have seen here before on this site is that Anagram mess. I am not sure how well that goes, nor do I know if it is worth going down that route.
Town is going to claim town regardless when near lynch, because that's what they are. We don't need to name claim to do it; name claims are probably mostly worthless in this game. Setting up a public 'way that town can claim town' is equivalent to providing a way for scum to claim town. Nice try.

What? Of course you're claiming town. If you weren't claiming town we'd lynch you on the spot. You said this:

I agree with Catalina that we need to figure out a way to establish a claim of sorts that the mafia cannot easily false claim. (This IS what I believe Cat was trying to do however it came out wrong.)
This reads like you're scum asking the town to publicly announce how they want everyone to claim so that when you're forced to claim you'll have an easier time coming up with a lie. That's the point you should be responding to; don't just so "okay I'm town".

I used to look at posts like that and immediately do everything in my power to ensure the poster's death. Now I look at them as a null tell (or even a slightly town one) since I see them posted almost exclusively by newbs, and usually frustrated newbs.
As the only reason stated in the post you vote him, I would like a more thorough walk-through of your thought process.
So, I noticed what I saw as Roja providing an answer to Cat, which is something I really find scummy

I read back, and I read Cat as town
I realize this is a contradiction-However, Roja has been flailing scummily, especially the "You are making a mistake" post
And Cat and DC have caught something else that makes Roja scummy.
So while the explanation point ends as a non-sequitor, there are enough other points against him that warrant my vote.
We live in a country were ~50% of the populace believe public schooling is a socialist conspiracy and that being called Einstein is an insult. We could try and fix it, but unfortunately the other 50% don't believe in euthanasia.

It's possible I'm seeing scum in bad newb play, but it bothers me how focused Roja is on appearing town. The timing of the claim surprised me, because he knows that L-2 is the commonly accepted/encouraged claim range.
Quote from Roja »
From what I have seen on this message board is that if you are -2 to being lynch it is usually a name claim. If the players demand more they will usually ask for it.
He also says that it is usually a name claim that is in order, but he didn't give his name either. It just doesn't make sense to me to act like he did.
@Everyone: Would you have a problem with Roja claiming his name at this point? Not his role, just the name of his character.

One post, so lurking, and that one post wasn't exactly confidence inspiring- looked like an attempt to gain townie points by defending an under-fire town player, without giving reasons or upsetting anyone specific by attacking them.

See the post above. The thing i wasn't elaborating on, after a re-read, wasn't really there. Without it, the case on Roja wasn't nearly as strong, pulling him back into a clump of somewhat scummy players, of whom DoG is the lurkiest.
I see someone hasn't played with WoD before.

@Everyone: Would you have a problem with Roja claiming his name at this point? Not his role, just the name of his character.
I would. There is no reason for anyone to claim anything until lynch -2 (or if its obvious someone will get there quickly).
The purpose of claiming is a last ditch defense to avoid a lynch (or, more accurately, for the town to make sure they're not lynching somebody incredibly important). Especially in this game where information is more important than normal, I'd like to keep it more orderly than normal - meaning we should not have anybody claiming unless they're going to get to or are already at lynch -2.
By my count, Roja was at 3 votes at the wagon's peak, not nearly claim range.
Actually, yeah, I've been a bit busy this weekend playing with my new computer, so I haven't had much time to post. Apologies for that.
@Ande - You'll notice in the past few games I've been in that I'm getting a lot more active now that I have a job where I can actually post between calls. The only reason I wouldn't post is if there is nothing to say.

I'm not really into this wagon. Her earlier vote was bad, and theres a bit of a flustered feeling, but not concrete enough for me to get behind this wagon.
Also, I don't know about others, but I had to ask the mod clarification on my gender, because I could not tell by name.
The Onkilon men, bronze skinned, burly and strong, are hunters, leaders, the muscle and brain of the tribe. But the tribe cannot survive without its heart - the women. Though not as powerful or skillful as the men, the feminine touch is necessary not only to keep the fire in the hearth burning, but also for the survival of the bloodline, and they must be taken care of as the most precious treasure. So it is, so it was for thousands of years.
I thought it ment that all men has something and women didn't. After re-reading this I had the wrong way of thinking.
