I love Joboman, Poggy, Niv, and Vezok, because, while they may not be the best players, they still try to win. Having fun is the most important thing to a game, but I've learned that if you don't try to win, then you're ruining everyone else's fun.
Lies! -I'm Buffy Summers, town tracker. I used my ability on you and saw that you didn't use any abilities before the game started. My flavor is I was sucked through a mysterious space-time portal and I'm here to kill all the vampires, and my tracking ability is a combination of my Slayer and Native American skills.
So as to get discussion going here, I'll sort of reveal: The firebolt is an item with no abilities. But it's a horcrux. So whoever has it can't use any abilities or items until they pass it away.
Are you asking why i care if i have the firebolt? Well you know i DO have another item (the sack of galleons diggy (iirc) passed me like an idiot).
There were times that we thought that we would use the galleons to catch a lieing scum. Or at least the prospect of using em has come up. Of course, the point was impossible due to me having the firebolt.
Also, I'd rather give the firebolt to someone who i think is scum to limit their options. It essentially is a delayed roleblock.

I've been rereading the past 20 pages or so checking facts. I think we need a full item claim now, from everyone. There are several items that were used once and completely disappeared (Marauder's Map, Sorting Hat), and we need every little piece of info we can get.
I might have more info later, I'm PMing Axelrod for a clarification.
I've indicated you yesterday as my preferred lynch target. There's nothing here that's changed that.

Sorry for the late check-in, I have been really really busy lately.
Something occurred to me last night. Apparently I was ambushed and targeted with the Cruciatus on my way to visit GR. From the flavors I was given, the pain and trauma were so great that I lost my ability. I have been turned into a vanilla. >_>

It's already insanely obvious the scum have the Sorting Hat and will not be telling us where it is. I would certainly like to hear any information anyone has regarding the Marauder's Map, but I expect it met a similar fate.

If I thought you were scum I'd say that's horribly convenient, but I don't so I think that makes perfect sense, especially considering armlx was targeted with a failed Imperius attempt.

Dagger's post, for one. Now that we are starting to get down to the nitty gritty, he can no longer use his "ability".
You've also asked me for flavor information, which I provided, but which you blew past and completely ignored. Not exactly the perspective of an unbiased townie. I've answered all the questions, but you still say "It doesn't matter that you answered, die scum!"

Also, I would still support a Spot's wagon today.
I agree with Kraj that this sounds horribly convenient, however, I also agree that it makes plenty of sense if Dagger is town.
Assuming Dagger is town for a second, he is both a potential mislynch, and thus not someone the scum want to kill. Additionally, he also has a role that is going to start confirming players as pro-town and finding scum at a fairly fast rate. The best solution is to simply vanillify him to neutralize his role, shed doubt on his alignment, and keep him alive for mislynch purposes. Assuming we can believe the scum have the ability to do something like this--which makes sense from the attack on armlx, and I would also argue that this is perhaps the cause for additional night 2 kills--then Dagger makes sense as a target for it.
I know using the sack of galleons (and apparently the cruatious curse if Dagger is to be believed) supercede other actions, but what about passing an item? Does Loran passing the firebolt to Spot prevent him from using any actions last night, or will that only come into effect tonight? I'm guessing the latter, but clarification would be good. The reason I ask is simple. I was roleblocked, and if spot was unable to perform any actions from being firebolted, then who submitted the mafia kill?
Also, unless the scum have the ability to magically make items disappear, we should be able to use those sacks of galleons to attempt to catch whoever is sandbagging the sorting hat tonight.

I believe you receive an item at the end of the night, because I still got my result from Axel. I learned about the firebolt in the same PM that gave me the result.

Ah, I misread your post as well. I thought you were saying "I believe you received an item last night."
So if that's the case, then RafK couldn't both use the Sword on AI and submit the mafia kill.

No, that was CPE. Odd that wouldn't remember that since that was a big part of the argument against him.
Actually, no, Loran is correct. It was Diggy who passed the Sack of Galleons to him. CPE passed him the firebolt I believe.

I have to send a message to the mod saying that I want to use it. But I can use it every night, doesn't have a limit, nothing. I assume the reason I have to activate it is because of the item component of this game.
No, that was CPE. Odd that wouldn't remember that since that was a big part of the argument against him.
cpe passed me the fire bolt. Diggy passed me teh galleons.
@Spot, huh? the flavor doesn't clear you. I entered your room last night to give you the firebolt and you weren't there. That could be because you're telling the truth. That could be because you were lying and did an action. It doesn't clear you at all. Stretching much?
@Goatrevolt, passing the firebolt essentially blocks the player the next night, not the same night it's passed. I was able to pass to AI the time turner in the same day i was passed the firebolt by cpe.

The inconsistancies I don't like are bolded and I would like them addressed. He is your preferred lynch target, and many people's preferred lynch target, why would you pass him the firebolt if he is dying anyway today? Wouldn't you want to pass it to your scum #2 given the proposition that spotofprey is on most people's lists for the lynch today?
You wanted him roleblocked for tonight, thus things aren't making sense because that would assume he lived through the day - which is odd considering many people see him as the ideal lynch target.

Spot (Skipping a few since he does a lot of minor posts as well that are useless)
2106- Checks in
2109-2111- Checks in, wonders if he should crypto again. His thoughts question Goat for being fishy on Jobie’s claim. Questions Jodoyodo bout the elder wand and why he gave it to diggy. Asks if loran and AI could be gambitting scum. Asks who diggy targeted on day 3.
2116-2118 Accepts answers and Cryptos and clarifies crytpo.
2184- Asks what the case was on cubus.
2189- Responds to questions on him.
2190- Gives a bunch of examples of what the IAHPs could mean.
2194- Says its an information role, but weak. Claims Rita Skeeter, Animagus. Can see how many times items change hands during nights. Admits ability isn’t very useful.
2201-Decodes Crypto.
2229- Says loran/AI and Zionite are the peeps on his scummy to me list.
2366- Disputes Me/AI from being confirmed.
2387- Votes Jodoyodo after Jodo Self-hammers.
2427- Once again after Me, and says Galleon result on Yuanti is interesting.
2440- Re: Kraj, claims that his role makes sense as Rita is a journalist and an affinity for magical items (pushing it). Says its slightly useful, and that it is flavorwise fine.
2452- Implies Dagger is scum? Asks once again about the galleons, and suggests some one’s list of alignments doesn’t sit well with him.
2454-55, confirms he was implying that dagger makes sense a scum item person and asks Yuanti if yuan started with the sword.
2469- One again against the masons esque post, and asks if destroying the wand would eliminate the cop. Denies that he is “implicating dagger” with his past views.
2512- 6 items move.
2528- Wants item abilities out there.
2537- Asks if we’re pushing yuanti?
2577- Not sure if his role helps the mafia at all. Points out the RS in cubus’ crypto.
I left out the cubus parts, since I sort of remember those, and its hard for Spot to explain those anyhow. But Spot’s own posts are also annoying. Like Yuanti, he hasn’t really voted anyone (He post-hammer votes jodoyodo..big whoop). 2190 got my attention. Notice the parts that are bolded (the last one “assaulted” also could be bolded) If he was rita skeeter, why the hell include those 3? In combination with him pointing out in 2577 RS, it makes me think he might not even be Rita Skeeter at all, but had decided to use that claim once he saw those letters in Cubus’ crypto. Constantly rallying against me and AI is a more positive trait…its hard to believe another scum would be doing that in this game. The wavering on the Dagger bit in 2452-2455 however, is yet another negative bit, and I don’t like his insitance on his ability.
This was my initial post on spot and is my reason why I will be voting him today.
Just one note: I don't think him rallying against the masons is that much of a town trait anymore, simply because he's been especially going after it since i took up the call to vote him. Smells more like desperate scum than silly townie wasting his vote.

To be fair, at night there really was nothing besides singlehandedly winning the game for us through hidden night actions that could've done this. After your response to kraj was underwhelming didn't do much to refute his claims (or my claims, but i think mine were made after kraj's and you couldn't respond to them yet), my mind was really made up.

I'm satisfied with your answer - it makes much more sense for a townie to toss out his Horclux than a scum. Scum wouldda been like, meh, I thought you were scummy for XYZ reasons, deal with it. Town would say what you said, I didn't have a 2nd scum target and to just haphazardly throw it around would be retarded.
Vote - SpotofPrey. It's kinda obvious why at this point.
9 alive -
Definitely Town:
Loran16
AI (99.99% town, 100% in the case that it's not possible for town-mafia to be masons)
Chimpanzee
Probable Town:
Kraj
Some One
Dagger
Scum:
Goatrevolt
SpotofPrey
RafaelK
Think about it, it has to be. We have the 3 confirmeds, and 3 probable townies. There has to be at least 3 scum, maybe even 4. As a result, I made the list above. Only things I could see changing are the fact that out of Loran and AI, AI could be a scummy part of that mason team, if that's even possible. SoP is definitely the best choice for the day's lynch because in all seriousness, he has nothing that would indicate he is town. Others, such as Kraj, and in some sense myself, have some amount of pro-town aspects associated with them, but he has nothing. Loran/AI are masons, and clearly neither will be lynched today. Chimp isn't going to be lynched either, and neither is Kraj. Thus, the list of possible lynch targets is very small, and as a result, I see no reason to lynch anyone other than SoP.
According to CPs first post, you can't use/pass an item and an ability (item based or not) on the same night, unless the movement is part of the ability (like the Gryffindor Sword)
I am under the assumption one cannot use an item concurrently with an ability, but can still pass an item the same night an ability is used.

I'll try to address your "reasons" since you won't actually post them on their own.
Being suspicious of loran/AI - There is absolutely nothing to confirm you as masons. You are claimed masons, not confirmed. RafK has even brought this up - just because a pair of scum have never tried this gambit before doesn't mean they won't in the future. As I was reading, both of you had suspicious activity that didn't make much sense as masons, but made sense as scum. Wasting my vote? I'm pretty sure I haven't voted either of you this game, and I'm certainly not voting you now. I haven't even campaigned for a "mason" wagon
My claim/IAHP shenanigans - I did the IAHP post to demonstrate that IAHP could mean ANYTHING.
I've been nothing but transparent about my role, and I have a realistic view of its power level. No one has any flavor disputes, I don't get what the deal is. I answer questions, I present the information I have, there isn't much more I can do.
Dagger - I've explained this too. A role like mine does absolutely nothing for the mafia. A role like Dagger's does something for the mafia, essentially a role cop type role (which seems good for them based on the items claimed so far, especially considering they started with galleons)
The only reason I can think of for loran pushing my wagon is that he is pissed that I think he could be lying about his mason claim, instead of actually being a good impartial townie (which is one of the obligations of being perceived as a staunch town player)
Simply put, if you aren't voting Loran/AI or yourself, 6 others remain. Of those 6, who are the 3-4 on your scum list, and who do you want to see lynched.
Simply put, if you aren't voting Loran/AI or yourself, 6 others remain. Of those 6, who are the 3-4 on your scum list, and who do you want to see lynched.
Dagger, for the reasons I have stated. I think once we get one scum, or actually get a good night action, the game will unfold.
If dagger is town, who are the 3-4 scum remaining?
Likewise, if he is scum, who are the 2-3 scum remaining?
Depends on what else happened during the night, but RafK would be around the top of the list. If we caught a scum, I also think we would have a mass claim tomorrow, which would give us more info. If he is town, we would probably lose or be very close to it, based on how many Mafia are still alive.
Errr, okay, now i feel like Some One here for a second, but has goatrevolt ever claimed? I could've swore that he claimed earlier in the game, but I can't find it.

One more thing before I go to sleep, @ SpotofPrey -
In Kraj's 2570, he says the Marauder's Map is useless to the scum, thus, does it really make sense for him to be scum? Your 2888 goes against a previous post of dagger's where he clarifies his role as not being cop-type but merely, he can ask if a role exists and it will say yeah or nay.
Minerva of House McGonagall can turn into cat to watch someone each night and observe item inventory starts with marauder’s map that can determine if a character is present in game
He is an itemcop. He can see what items a player has. The Marauder's Map determines if a role is in the game or not. Seems pretty good for the mafia to me...check false claims to see if they are safe.
The marauder's map isn't useless for scum. Say you're scum and you want to make up a false claim, but you're worried about getting counterclaimed. You can check if the role exists. Admittedly it's situational, and if the mafia already have safe claims then it would be totally useless, however, I don't see scum starting with the map as a reason to clear Dagger. My biggest reason to clear Dagger remains Ged's push on him day 1, and the way DYH reacted to it. DYH accused Ged of pushing for Dagger instead of him, and it brings up the interesting point, why would Ged push for DYH when he could push a townie Dagger instead? Why would DYH call Ged out for pushing his scum buddy instead of another scum buddy? I think that interaction really points towards Dagger being town.
@Dagger: Clearing people as town isn't going to happen quite yet, but eventually yes, you would be able to do that. Say we lynch scum, and don't find the sorting hat on that player. You target a player at night and they don't have the sorting hat, then chances are they aren't scum.
@loran: I have not claimed yet. I plan on claiming tomorrow, regardless of what happens today/tonight, but would prefer to wait until then if possible.
This is what I'm looking at:
Confirmed town:
AI
Loran
Chimp
Likely town:
Kraj
Some One
Scum:
Spot
RafK
Situational:
Dagger
I only have 2 scum on my list, but I think that's fine for now. If we lynch 2 scum and the game continues, then I'll re-evaluate who the 3rd scum is, and we'll have more info to work from as well.
He is an itemcop. He can see what items a player has. The Marauder's Map determines if a role is in the game or not. Seems pretty good for the mafia to me...check false claims to see if they are safe.
The possibility in which you gave for the map is highly situational and most probably a one-shot use for the scums if it starts in their hands. And it applies as well to other items which are passed to other players after a single use.
As a reminder, you may use one (1) night ability, and you may give away one (1) item you own to another player. You must do so in that order. If you do give away an item, the recipient will receive it at the end of the night, not before, unless otherwise specified. If there are questions, PM me.
Do we really need to go over this again? 3rd time I think now Bodyguard = ability. Sack = Give away.
I'm trying to be as transparent as possible. I didn't know, so I sent Axel a PM - he said that they wouldn't count.
Well then.
5.
Sword moved. Firebolt moved. Anyone else able to confirm an item movement (it's not even necessary to say what item... well, not yet)?
I really wish we'd had the time and the will to prove/disprove these numbers yesterday, since I think one of the earlier days was our best shot of proving there'd been more movements than spot claimed... however, with armlx and cpe now dead, it might be harder to do.
Obviously we cannot easily prove that the number he claimed today is too high. But if there's only two movements known to the town, I'd suggest it's unlikely the scum would be passing 3 items in one night (partly because it means they aren't spending time using the items, partly because they've had plenty of time already to put the items where they want them to be), which adds a little to the case against spot.

Lynch you. But first I'm interested in hearing what Chimpanzee has to say today, as he's been rather quiet.
Beyond that, I'd say that since no one has come forward with any information about the Marauder's Map that means it's in the hands of the scum (or completely made up, but I still doubt that). That means there are three items in the hands of the scum for YuanTi and Loran to try and nab with the Sacks, which I emphatically suggest they do. Chimp should choose a target for the Sword since that can also identify scum in a similar fashion.

In due time.
No, that was CPE. Odd that wouldn't remember that since that was a big part of the argument against him.
It's already insanely obvious the scum have the Sorting Hat and will not be telling us where it is. I would certainly like to hear any information anyone has regarding the Marauder's Map, but I expect it met a similar fate.
Doesn't look like it, does it?
If I thought you were scum I'd say that's horribly convenient, but I don't so I think that makes perfect sense, especially considering armlx was targeted with a failed Imperius attempt.

Dagger's post, for one. Now that we are starting to get down to the nitty gritty, he can no longer use his "ability".
You've also asked me for flavor information, which I provided, but which you blew past and completely ignored. Not exactly the perspective of an unbiased townie. I've answered all the questions, but you still say "It doesn't matter that you answered, die scum!"
Therefore, if you are suggesting I purposefully shoot myself in the foot despite that, try again.
We'll make you an offer you can't refuse.

Nope. I got a PM about being roleblocked, but nothing about getting an item.
Sorry, I misread your post, thought you were asking me. According to CPs first post, you can't use/pass an item and an ability (item based or not) on the same night, unless the movement is part of the ability (like the Gryffindor Sword)
Ah, I misread your post as well. I thought you were saying "I believe you received an item last night."
So if that's the case, then RafK couldn't both use the Sword on AI and submit the mafia kill.
Spot: Do you have to activate anything to receive your results, or is it just a static ability you have?
Actually, no, Loran is correct. It was Diggy who passed the Sack of Galleons to him. CPE passed him the firebolt I believe.
I have to send a message to the mod saying that I want to use it. But I can use it every night, doesn't have a limit, nothing. I assume the reason I have to activate it is because of the item component of this game.
cpe passed me the fire bolt.

It's your claimed ability, why are you asking us?
I'm trying to be as transparent as possible. I didn't know, so I sent Axel a PM - he said that they wouldn't count.
This is not an inconsistancy...i thought spot was scum, so i gave him the horcrux.
I don't have a #2 scum target. If spot's not scum, then dagger will get my vote, but i really think spot is scum (and i don't think they're both scum).
Indeed they do see him as the best lynch, as they should since he's done nothing today that makes me feel better about him. But if for some reason he cons the town into lynching a townie, i'd like him blocked for today.
Logical Reasoning is dead; Long Live Stupidity
This was my initial post on spot and is my reason why I will be voting him today.
Just one note: I don't think him rallying against the masons is that much of a town trait anymore, simply because he's been especially going after it since i took up the call to vote him. Smells more like desperate scum than silly townie wasting his vote.
Logical Reasoning is dead; Long Live Stupidity
What, in your mind, could I have done to "make you feel better about me"?
To be fair, at night there really was nothing besides singlehandedly winning the game for us through hidden night actions that could've done this. After your response to kraj was underwhelming didn't do much to refute his claims (or my claims, but i think mine were made after kraj's and you couldn't respond to them yet), my mind was really made up.
Logical Reasoning is dead; Long Live Stupidity
I can understand about the finding scum part, but in what way could I start confirming players as pro-town with my role?
I am under the assumption one cannot use an item concurrently with an ability, but can still pass an item the same night an ability is used.

I believe this is correct also too, no? I thought diggy was scum earlier for passing me the galleons while claiming to bodyguard on the same night, and was told that I was wrong in my understanding.
(Note: we've had a mod change, so maybe there's confusion there?)

3. No ability, item-based or not, may be used in the same night after an item is received or given, unless otherwise specified.
...go figure......
Dagger, for the reasons I have stated. I think once we get one scum, or actually get a good night action, the game will unfold.
If dagger is town, who are the 3-4 scum remaining?
Likewise, if he is scum, who are the 2-3 scum remaining?
In other words, how does this unfold the game?
Depends on what else happened during the night, but RafK would be around the top of the list. If we caught a scum, I also think we would have a mass claim tomorrow, which would give us more info. If he is town, we would probably lose or be very close to it, based on how many Mafia are still alive.
Logical Reasoning is dead; Long Live Stupidity
In Kraj's 2570, he says the Marauder's Map is useless to the scum, thus, does it really make sense for him to be scum? Your 2888 goes against a previous post of dagger's where he clarifies his role as not being cop-type but merely, he can ask if a role exists and it will say yeah or nay.
He is an itemcop. He can see what items a player has. The Marauder's Map determines if a role is in the game or not. Seems pretty good for the mafia to me...check false claims to see if they are safe.
The possibility in which you gave for the map is highly situational and most probably a one-shot use for the scums if it starts in their hands. And it applies as well to other items which are passed to other players after a single use.
Did a bit of digging. Here.

Well then.
Well, if we did get it down to where we only needed one of them to chime in, we do have the stone to talk to them. Just something to keep in mind.

No, he said he passed it. And it would have shown up on the dead items list if he had it.

@SomeOne: What is your specialty? I think there's very little risk in revealing it at this point and it could be very helpful.
